Pawar made the statement after the party's state Vice-President, Salim Sarang, lodged a complaint about Jagtap's alleged remarks targeting a particular community.
"After videos surfaced showing Jagtap making strongly hateful remarks against Muslims, and many locals approached me, I complained to Dada (Ajit Pawar). He said he would seek an explanation from Jagtap. He also reiterated that our party follows the ideals of Phule, Ambedkar, and Sahu Maharaj, and believes in secularism," said Sarang.

peaking to the media, Pawar stated that his party is committed to the values of secularism and communal harmony. "Our party cannot deviate from secular values. This issue has been brought to my notice, and I will ask Jagtap to explain why he made such remarks. We follow the ideals of Sahu, Phule, Ambedkar, and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, and communal comments against any community are not acceptable," Pawar said.

Sarang added that Jagtap's alleged derogatory comments have disturbed many people and that locals fear such remarks could threaten communal harmony in Ahmednagar and other parts of the state if left unchecked.
Sarang, who often raises issues concerning Muslims in the state, said that Ajit Pawar believes all communities have equal rights and that derogatory remarks against any community cannot be tolerated. Despite facing opposition from some minority leaders within the party, Sarang said he would continue to raise important and relevant issues. His swift action has prompted the party's top leadership to take note of this serious matter.
Sarang also said that some activists are planning to file a case against Jagtap for his alleged communal comments.

Zohran Mamdani Isn't New York Mayor Yet But Already Faces MAGA's Heat
Ever since Zohran Mamdani clinched a surprising victory in the Democratic primary for New York's mayoral polls, he has found himself in the crosshairs of Make America Great Again (MAGA) supporters. If elected in November, Mr Mamdani would become the first Muslim mayor in New York City's history. While many have opposed Zohran Mamdani's policies, such as supporting affordable housing, MAGA supporters are targeting him over his religious identity. Conservative social media personality Laura Loomer wrote, "New York City will be destroyed, Muslims will start committing jihad all over New York and that NYC is about to see 9/11 2.0." New York City just handed its Democrat mayoral primary to @ZohranKMamdani, a communist jihadi backed by New York's communist Attorney General Letitia James @TishJames and raised by a father who believes terrorism is justified as "anti-colonial resistance." Trevor Loudon… — Laura Loomer (@LauraLoomer) June 26, 2025 Islamophobic posts targeting Mamdani were shared by prominent MAGA faces such as Marjorie Taylor Greene, US representative for Georgia's 14th congressional district. She shared a post showing a digitally altered picture of the Statue of Liberty covered in a black burqa. This hits hard. — Marjorie Taylor Greene ???????? (@mtgreenee) June 25, 2025 Conservative activist Charlie Kirk also referred to the 9/11 attacks in a recent post. He wrote, "24 years ago a group of Muslims killed 2,753 people on 9/11. Now a Muslim Socialist is on pace to run New York City." 24 years ago a group of Muslims killed 2,753 people on 9/11 Now a Muslim Socialist is on pace to run New York City — Charlie Kirk (@charliekirk11) June 25, 2025 Sharing a picture of Zohran Mamdani from a social gathering, Republican Nancy Mace, a US Representative from South Carolina, wrote, "After 9/11 we said 'Never Forget.' I think we sadly have forgotten." After 9/11 we said "Never Forget." I think we sadly have forgotten. — Nancy Mace (@NancyMace) June 25, 2025 US President Donald Trump also launched a scathing attack on Mr Mamdani, calling him a 100 percent Communist Lunatic. He even criticized other progressive leaders who support Mr Mamdani, including Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) and Senator Chuck Schumer. Key policies proposed by Mamdani and why MAGA are backers opposing them? Zohran Mamdani is backed by the Democratic Socialists of America, and that alone makes him unpopular among MAGA supporters. Where Trump seeks tight border control, an anti-refugee stance and a Muslim ban, Mamdani fights for immigrant rights and pro-refugee policies. Housing for all: Zohran Mamdani supports rent control, the construction of affordable houses for particularly low or middle-income classes and protection of tenants from eviction. MAGA supporters generally favour free market housing policies and landlords' rights. Anti-war policy: One of the key reasons MAGA supporters oppose Mamdani is that he openly accuses Israel of committing genocide in Gaza, which deeply angers the conservatives who are strongly pro-Israel. Taxes: While Mamdani has proposed a two percent tax on wealthy individuals to fund public services, MAGA bats for lower taxes and minimal government intervention. During a Democratic debate, Zohran Mamdani called himself Trump's worst nightmare, positioning himself as a progressive, Muslim immigrant who actively fights for social justice. He also criticised Trump's immigration policies, describing them as authoritarian.

In California, school named after Jaswant Singh Khalra, who blew lid off Punjab killings of 1980s and 1990s
1 2 3 4 Jalandhar: 'Punjab 95', the film starring Diljit Dosanjh on slain human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra, faced 127 cuts from the Central Board of Film Certification at home in India, but an elementary school in Fresno, California, has been named after the man who challenged Punjab Police during the darkest days of the state. The school was inaugurated in the presence of Khalra's family on Friday. "It was a historic day in Central Unified! Today, we proudly celebrated the ribbon cutting of Jaswant Singh Khalra Elementary School — the first elementary school in the United States named after a Punjabi human rights activist," posted the Central Unified School District, in Fresno County, on its Facebook page. "This powerful moment was more than just the opening of a new school — it was a tribute to courage, community, and the rich cultural heritage of our Punjabi community that helps shape the Central Valley. We're excited for our students to walk these hallways in the upcoming school year and carry forward a legacy rooted in justice and truth," added the district. Khalra's wife, Paramjit Kaur Khalra, and daughter, Navkirtan Kaur, were present on the occasion. Amid the controversy over a hundred cuts asked by the CBFC, Kunal Kamra called out the CBFC for stalling 'Punjab 95'. Kamra said it was a fear of showing "a hero in a turban." by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Dores nos nervos e neuropatia? Article 370 was against Dr Ambedkar's idealogy of one Constitution for united India: CJI Gavai
Chief Justice of India B R Gavai on Saturday said Dr B R Ambedkar envisioned one Constitution for the country to keep it united and never favoured the idea of a separate constitution for a state. Speaking at the inauguration of the Constitution Preamble Park here, the CJI said the Supreme Court drew inspiration from Dr Ambedkar's vision of a united India under a single constitution while upholding the Centre's decision to abrogate Article 370 that granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir. Gavai was part of a five-judge Constitution bench, headed by then Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, that unanimously upheld the Centre's decision to abrogate Article 370, which bestowed special status to the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Rajasthan Mosquito Crisis Solved by Strange New Device (See How) Mosquito Eliminator Read More "When Article 370 was challenged, it came before us, and when the hearing was underway, I recalled Dr Babasaheb's words that one Constitution is suited for a country... If we want to keep the country united, we need only one Constitution," he said, while addressing the gathering in Marathi. On August 5, 2019, the Centre decided to strip Jammu and Kashmir of special status and divide it into two Union Territories. Live Events Gavai said Dr Ambedkar had been criticised, saying the Constitution provides for too much federalism, and in times of war, the country may not remain united. However, he had responded, saying the Constitution would suit all the challenges and keep the nation united, the CJI said. "See the situation in the neighbouring countries, be it Pakistan, Bangladesh or Sri Lanka. Whenever our country faces challenges, it has remained united," Gavai said. Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said he was happy that CJI Gavai inaugurated the Constitution Preamble Park and unveiled a statue of Dr Ambedkar. Freedom, equality and brotherhood were Dr Ambedkar's valuable gift to the country in the form of the Constitution, he said. Gadkari said that the Constitution has clearly stated the responsibilities and rights of the four pillars of democracy, i.e. executive, judiciary, legislature and media. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said Gavai was performing his responsibility as the Chief Justice of India ably. Highlighting the importance of the Constitution, Fadnavis said the government has decided that the Preamble of the Constitution should reach every student to mark the Amrit Mohotsav of the Constitution. "If we accept the values of the Preamble, 90 per cent of the country's problems will be solved forever," he said.
