Samsung's new Crystal UHD TV is a top seller and 'like a cinema in your room'

Daily Mirror3 days ago
Samsung has released a new and improved model of its Crystal UHD smart TV that's shot to the number one spot in Amazon's Hot New Releases category
Samsung has released a new smart TV that's landed at the top of Amazon's hottest seller list. The 2025 Samsung Crystal UHD 4K Smart TV is also on sale at £479, down from £549.
This is for the 65' model, which has taken the number one spot in Amazon's 'Hot New Releases in TVs' category, beating the 50' model (£329) and 43' model (£269) in fifth and 8th place, respectively. This newly released device is the latest addition to Samsung's popular and affordable Crystal UHD series.
It's powered by a crystal processor that's able to boost image quality to 4K UHD resolution, which has four times more pixels than regular FHD. This allows the TV to display more 'natural and true-to-life' colours, while High Dynamic Range (HDR) shows more depth and detail in both lighter and darker images.
The Samsung TV utilises Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance non-4K content, while immersive Object Tracking Sounds Lite follows the action and Adaptive Sound optimises audio that's tailored to what's on screen. The TV runs on Samsung's Tizen operating system, which offers easy access to apps like Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+ and BBC iPlayer, along with countless free TV shows and films on Samsung TV Plus.
The new-and-improved model boasts a 'MetalStream' design, which is said to take inspiration from aircraft engineering and uses a single sheet of metal to create a slim, seamless profile. The TV can also be controlled with the Quick Remote app for Android and iOS, or with a Samsung Galaxy Watch.
The Samsung Crystal range offers an affordable entry into 4K viewing, rivalling other budget-friendly brands like the Amazon Fire TV 4-Series, which sits in a similar price bracket up to £369 for the 55' mode. They both offer a similar UHD display with HDR capabilities, but what puts the Samsung slightly ahead is its ability to enhance lower resolution content and boost the image.
The Samsung's surround sound may also feel more immersive compared to the Fire TV, although some buyers have found the Samsung benefits from a soundbar.
Ultimately, neither model stands head and shoulders above the other, but some may prefer the build quality of the Samsung, which can also offer more longevity. Shoppers can also consider the new Sky Glass Air, the 4K UHD smart TV with Sky channels and streaming apps built in from £6 per month when paired with a Sky TV package.
Released in June, this device boasts a 4K HDR Quantum Dot screen and Dolby Audio speaker system, as well as Sky's intelligent operating system that learns what viewers like. As for the 2025 Samsung Crystal UHD 4K Smart TV, buyers have awarded it a 4.4-star rating after more than 600 reviews, compared to 4.3-stars for the Amazon Fire TV 4-Series.
One user said: "It's like having a cinema in your front room. The picture is so clear, the size is great, the screen is almost the whole TV as there is a little border. With all Samsung TVs the sound can be a bit off while watching a TV show, you might have to turn it up or down on new episodes if you're binge watching, that's the only problem I've come across.'
Another said: 'I'm amazed. Functionality, lightweight so easy to wall mount, great apps and the picture quality is stunning. We've started playing visuals on YouTube whilst listening to music and picture quality is perfect. I want to replace the TV in our bedroom so would buy this again in a heartbeat.'
A third said: "Brilliant TV. Easy to set up. Clear picture. Great audio. Good price since current sale price offer." However, the same buyer noted a flaw, adding: "Only thing I hated are the legs. You would need such a long cabinet to sit it on."

It's easy to dismiss refurbished gadgets as being low quality used gear – but that's not the case if you're getting a proper refurbished item. And the savings can be enormous if you're willing to buy a product that isn't "brand new". HOW DOES APPLE'S REFURBISHED SCHEME WORK? Every company will have different rules for how they restore gadgets. On the Apple Store, the refurbished gear is cleaned, inspected, and tested by the company. So it should feel pretty new and work as normal. It'll also come with proper Apple replacement parts if anything was broken and needed fixing. So if the screen was busted, it won't have been swapped out for a dodgy third-party part. You'll get it newly packaged and shipping is free. And Apple also gives you the standard one-year warranty that you'd get if you were buying a brand new product. iPhone 16e review – I've secretly tested Apple's cheapest mobile and I love the new button but that's not the best bit You're also able to bag AppleCare with it, which is normally possible with used gadgets. Looks great and sits really comfy on my wrist." A second wrote: "Great price for being able to read messages and take calls off your phone and track steps! Way cheaper than apple watch. Great quality and clear." Another added: "Love this smart watch it's really easy to set up and use. Great value for money does everything an Apple Watch does for a fraction of the price. However, some shoppers did notice have issues with the watch. One person said: "I've noticed the health tracking isn't always super accurate, and the app can be a little glitchy sometimes.
