, he said, "Everyone understands that Pakistan is upset. But Congress and the Samajwadi Party (SP) cannot handle the pain that Pakistan is going through. There, the Aaka (masters) of the terrorists are crying, and here, Congress and SP are crying, seeing the condition of terrorists."

"Congress is constantly insulting the valour of our forces. Congress has called Operation
Sindoor
a 'tamasha'... They dared to refer to our forces' valour and sisters' sindoor as 'tamasha', this is shamelessness," the Prime Minister said.

Hitting back at Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav who raised questions on the timing of 'Operation Mahadev', PM Modi termed it as vote bank politics.
"In this politics of vote bank and appeasement, the Samajwadi Party is no less. Their leaders in Parliament were questioning why the Pahalgam terrorists were killed on this particular day. Should I telephone them and ask them before taking any action? Anyone with common sense should be able to answer, do we need to wait to kill terrorists? Should we have given them a chance to flee?"
PM Modi further alleged that the SP gave a clean chit to terrorists when it was in power.
"They are the same people who would give a clean chit to terrorists when they were in power in UP, and now they are upset when terrorists are killed. They have a problem with the name of the operation as Sindoor," PM Modi said.
Prime Minister Modi hailed Operation Sindoor and said that he avenged the loss of the Pahalgam terror attack with the blessings of Lord Mahadev.
Addressing a public meeting, PM Modi dedicated the success of Operation Sindoor to Lord Mahadev.
The Prime Minister said, "This is the first time I have come to

after Operation Sindoor. 26 innocent civilians were mercilessly killed by terrorists in Pahalgam... My heart was full of sorrow. I had pledged to take revenge for my daughters' sindoor, and I fulfilled it with the blessings of Mahadev. I dedicate the success of Operation Sindoor to the feet of Mahadev."
He assured that anyone messing with India will not be spared.
PM Modi said, "When there is injustice and terror in front, Mahadev adorns his 'Rudra roop'. The world saw this face of India during Operation Sindoor. Anyone who messes with India will not be spared even in 'pataal lok'."
Indian armed forces carried out Operation Sindoor on May 7 to avenge the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam on April 22, which killed 26 people.

Reconciliation only solution to India-Pak tensions: Mehbooba Mufti
PDP president Mehbooba Mufti on Sunday called for the revival of ties between India and Pakistan, stating that "reconciliation" is the only way forward to ease tensions. Responding to questions about the current situation in Jammu and Kashmir and the recent encounter in Kulgam, Mufti said, "Encounter used to happen and will always happen, but such a huge war took place before that. The ceasefire had to be declared later. Unless reconciliation, dialogue, debate and discussions are done, such encounters will go on, and we will always stay on the verge of war. Reconciliation is the only way forward." Terrorists killed 26 civilians in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam on April 22 in a brutal and heinous attack. India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) in response. Meanwhile, security forces continue their operation in the Akhal Devsar area of south Kashmir's Kulgam district. One terrorist has been neutralised so far in the joint operation by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir police, CRPF, and the Special Operations Group (SOG). The encounter began on Saturday and continued overnight. A day earlier, ahead of the sixth anniversary of the revocation of Article 370, Mufti launched a sharp attack on the BJP-led Central government, saying the policy to strip Jammu and Kashmir of its special status has "completely failed." "Six full years have passed since August 5, 2019. At that time, Jammu and Kashmir's special status was taken away, and Article 370 was revoked with the claim that everything would be fine in Jammu and Kashmir. But we have seen that the policy has completely failed," she told reporters. Philippines President Marcos Jr. to visit India as two sides deepen maritime cooperation
NEW DELHI In a move aimed at deepening maritime cooperation with the southeast Asian region, India will host Philippines President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. during August 4-8. This will be the first visit by President Marcos Jr, son of the late President Ferdinand Marcos who visited India in 1976. The Ministry of External Affairs said the visit would formally begin with the ceremonial reception at the Rashtrapati Bhavan which would be followed by a visit by President Marcos Jr. to the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat. Soon after the welcome ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, President Marcos Jr. will hold delegation-level talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the two sides signing multiple agreements and MoUs. On August 7, he will visit Bengaluru. The visit is being viewed as the culmination of sustained political-level dialogue even as they strengthened maritime cooperation as both Philippines and India are strong proponents of freedom of navigation in the South China Sea. Mr. Modi had met President Marcos Jr. on the sidelines of 21st ASEAN-India Summit and the 19th East Asia Summit in Vientiane, Lao PDR in October 2024. They had also met on the sidelines of the 20th ASEAN-India Summit in Jakarta in September 2023. Earlier, Mr. Modi had congratulated President Marcos Jr after his electoral victory in 2022. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar had met Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines Enrique A. Manalo on March 18, 2025 when Mr. Manalo participated in the Raisina Dialogue in New Delhi. The Ministers also met in Vientiane, on July 25, 2024, on the sidelines of the ASEAN-India Foreign Ministers' meeting. Mr. Jaishankar had visited the Philippines from March 25-27, 2025. During the visit, he met Secretary Manalo and the Secretary of National Defence of the Philippines, Teodoro Gilbert, and called on President Marcos Jr. The Marcos family has been part of Philippine politics for more than half century. President Ferdinand Marcos who had imposed martial law in Philippines in 1972, visited India in May 1976 on his way back from the fourth session of the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), which took place in Nairobi in May 1976. The upcoming five-day visit is drawing attention as it starts soon after several Indian Navy destroyers reached the Port of Manila to conduct joint patrol of the West Philippine Sea with the Philippine Navy. On August 1, Indian Naval Ships INS Delhi, INS Shakti and INS Kiltan of the Eastern Fleet led by Rear Admiral Susheel Menon were welcomed in Philippines. Armed Forces of Philippines Chief General Romeo Brawner Jr. told the Philippines media that the presence of the Indian destroyers was a 'clear demonstration' of mutual resolve to guard the maritime domain. The development comes months after the first India-Philippines Maritime Dialogue was held in December 2024.
