Thammudu box office prediction day 1: Nithiin's Telugu film may earn Rs 8 crore in in India
Thammudu set to open well
Thammudu, starring Nithiin, is finally out in theatres. According to Ramesh Bala, a trade analyst, the flick is set to earn Rs 8 crore in India on the first day.
'Thammudu is a story that takes place in a single day. This makes it different from a trademark routine Telugu movie. Given the uniqueness, it appears that an opening of say Rs 8 crore is on the cards,' he told Indiatimes.
The lion's share of this is going to come from the Telugu states, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. It may also find some patronage in Tamil Nadu, where producer Dil Raju is a known name because of Varisu. Interestingly, if this prediction holds, Thammudu will outperform the actor's previous release Robinhood. The film had grossed Rs 2.65 crore in India on the opening day as per Sacnilk, a trade website.
What is Thammudu's breakeven target?
According to reports in the Telugu media, the film needs to collect a share of Rs 25 crore worldwide to emerge as a 'hit'. Robinhood had earned merely Rs 14 crore (approx) worldwide in its full run as per a report by Box Office South 2, a handle on X (formerly known as Twitter). As such, Thammudu needs to outperform Robinhood by a margin to emerge as a success.
Thammudu plot: Is it a remake of Pawan Kalyan's 1999 film?
Thammudi is an action drama that is set in the fictional village of Ambaragoudu where certain shocking events unfold over the course of a single night. It features Nithiin Sapthami Gowda of Kantara fame in the lead. Laya essays a key role in the film. Thammudi is directed by Venu Sriram, best known for his work on Vakeel Saab. Thammudi is not a remake of Pawan Kalyan's 1999 blockbuster of the same name

Setback for Saif & family over 15,000 crore ancestral property as HC orders retrial
Saif Ali Khan (PTI photo) JABALPUR: In a setback to actor Saif Ali Khan and his family, who inherited Rs 15,000 crore properties owned by Bhopal's erstwhile rulers, Madhya Pradesh HC has set aside the trial court's verdict given over two decades ago, and ordered a retrial in the case. In its order passed on June 30, the single bench of HC of Justice Sanjay Dwivedi set aside the judgment and decree of the trial court which upheld Pataudis (Saif Ali Khan, his mother Sharmila Tagore and his two sisters Soha and Saba) to be the owners of the properties. It also directed the trial court to make all possible efforts to conclude and decide the matter within one year. Nawab Hamidullah was the last ruling Nawab of the princely state of Bhopal. He and his wife Maimoona Sultan had three daughters - Abida, Sajida and Rabia. Sajida married Iftikhar Ali Khan Pataudi and became the Nawab Begum of Bhopal. Their son, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, former Indian cricket team skipper married Sharmila Tagore. After Nawab Hamidullah's eldest daughter Abida migrated to Pakistan, Sajida became the owner of the properties. Later, her son Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi (Tiger Pataudi, who married Sharmila Tagore) became the successor of these properties estimated to be valued at nearly Rs 15,000 crore, which were inherited by Saif Ali and his siblings. In their pleas, they stated that the Bhopal district court's judgment and decree dated Feb 14, 2000 dismissed their suits unfairly. Their lawyers pleaded that the partition of his (Nawab's) personal property should have been done between them and defendants Saif Ali, Sharmila and 16 other heirs as per the Muslim Personal Law. The appellants opposed the defendants (Pataudis) for citing the certificate issued by the Govt of India on Jan 10, 1962 in favour of Sajida Begum as the sole successor of all the private properties. Justice Dwivedi said, "The matters are remanded back to the trial court for deciding it afresh." "And if so required, the trial court can allow the parties to lead further evidence in view of the subsequent development and changed legal position," the court ordered.

Filmistan Studios sold for Rs 183 crore, AICWA urges Devendra Fadnavis to stop redevelopment into luxury towers: 'Save the livelihoods of lakhs of workers'
Filmistan Studios, one of Mumbai's oldest and most iconic film studios, has been officially sold to Arkade Developers for Rs 183 crore. The transaction was registered on July 3, marking the end of an era for a studio that helped shape the golden age of Hindi cinema. Once a thriving base for actors, technicians, and production houses, the Goregaon West property is now set to be redeveloped into ultra-luxury residential towers. Founded in 1943 by Sasadhar Mukherjee, grandfather to Kajol and Rani Mukerji , along with actor Ashok Kumar, Gyan Mukherjee, and Rai Bahadur Chunilal, Filmistan Studios emerged from a split with Bombay Talkies and quickly became a cornerstone of Hindi filmmaking. Back in the day, studios like Filmistan weren't just shooting spaces, they were full-fledged production houses employing actors and crew on monthly salaries. AICWA urges Devendra Fadnavis to intervene In the wake of the acquisition, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has written an open letter to Maharashtra's CM Devendra Fadnavis, urging him to halt the demolition and protect what they call a 'symbol of cinematic legacy.' The association has called for a Government Resolution (G.R.) to preserve the studio as a public cultural asset. 'Filmistan Studio... by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Dommershausen: Gutes Hören sucht 700 Testhörer für Hörgeräte ohne Zuzahlung Gutes Hören Undo has been a workplace for lakhs of technicians, artists, junior artists, and workers… It is not just a physical structure; it is a symbol of cinematic legacy and the sweat and hard work of the working class behind the camera,' the AICWA letter read. Dharmesh Yelande Spotted At Filmistan Studio The association further warned that the loss of Filmistan, and other heritage studios at risk, would severely impact employment opportunities for daily wage workers, technicians, and artists who form the backbone of the entertainment industry. 'This is not just a fight to save land—it is a fight to protect dignity, heritage, and the livelihood of the backbone of our industry. Filmistan Studio was built with the blood, sweat, and dedication of workers... Unfortunately, the current owners have chosen profit over people.' Filmistan Studios to be turned into luxury towers Following the acquisition, Arkade Developers announced plans to redevelop the four-acre SV Road plot into a high-end residential project. The project will reportedly feature 3, 4, and 5 BHK residences and exclusive penthouses across two 50-storey towers. With a projected gross development value of Rs 3,000 crore, the project is slated for a tentative launch in 2026. Known for its sound stages, outdoor sets, and central location, Filmistan was once a go-to destination for Bollywood films, television shows, and ad shoots. However, with newer, tech-equipped studios sprouting across the city, Filmistan gradually fell out of favour.
