Rayhan Thomas fires solid 69 at Panama Championship, caps round with a birdie
Play was suspended due to darkness, with 24 players yet to complete their rounds. Johnny Keefer (USA) leads at seven under through 17 holes.

Starting on the 10th hole, Thomas had an eventful front nine, mixing four birdies, two bogeys, and three pars to make the turn at 33. A pair of bogeys on holes two and five saw him drop back to even par, but he bounced back with a clutch birdie on the par-4 ninth—his final hole—to sign for a back-nine 36 and a 69 overall.
Reflecting on his round, Thomas told Khaleej Times:
"It was a decent start today. I missed some bad spots and had a couple of bogeys, but overall, I hit some good shots and made some birdies. I was thrilled to birdie my last hole, the ninth, to get into the red.'
He praised the 7,534-yard, par-70 course, noting its demanding layout: 'The golf course is very good – you have to be pretty strategic off the tee, and into the greens – you really have to execute your shots precisely to make a score.
'I have to be focused and tough - just make some birdies tomorrow and then hopefully kill it over the weekend after the 36-hole cut.'
Currently sitting 13th in the Korn Ferry Tour Points List with 101 points after two events, Thomas remains firmly in contention for a top-20 season finish, which would earn him a coveted PGA Tour card.

Some websites offering fake tickets have already gone live. Elaborate scam A simple Google search by Khaleej Times with the words 'Asia Cup tickets India Pakistan' revealed a flurry of websites offering passes to the game. Some were even 'sponsored' websites being displayed at ideal locations on the Google search page. Their ideal location on the search page makes it much easier for an unsuspecting fan to click on the website and fall victim to a scam. One website is offering a single 'VIP' pass for over Dh11,000. Other reselling websites are also offering the passes inflated rates. 'General Admission' passes begin at over Dh1,500 on these websites. Take a look at some of these websites offering them, below: Official tickets, however, are not yet being sold. So far, there has been no announcement on when tickets will be released, although fans expect the passes to go on sale soon. Authorities in UAE have time and again issued adviories and warnings, urging residents to avoid clicking on suspicious links.

It's only the start of August, and yet it seems the golf season is already winding down. Surely not? This certainly appears to be the case on both the PGA Tour and LIV Golf circuits, with all four Majors now behind us. However, for the PGA Tour, it may just be a brief pause, with the FedEx Cup Playoffs serving as the highlight and climax of the season. But what happens after these next three weeks on the PGA Tour? Players ranked 51st and beyond in the FedEx Cup Rankings will continue to compete in fall events from September 11, 2025, to earn points and secure their status. The top 50 are already locked in, while those ranked 51st–70th are guaranteed to finish in the top 100, the target to retain PGA Tour cards for 2026. Signature Events In even finer detail, the fall season presents an opportunity for players to qualify for various Signature Events and, of course, win tournaments that bring with them two-year exemptions, trophies, prize money, and more. Players finishing 101st–125th will gain conditional status for the next season. The list of conditions and exemptions is extensive, and eligibility remains a key focus. Even players within the top 50 of the FedEx Cup Rankings can choose to play in the fall events, gaining valuable OWGR (Official World Golf Ranking) points.
