First details about one of Samsung's upcoming mid-tier phones drops one year earlier

Phone Arena26-05-2025
Samsung's Galaxy A series outperforms the company's Galaxy S series by a lot every year. Although a big chunk of the South Korean giant's profits is based on the sale of its flagships, the actual number of Galaxy A units sold is bigger than Galaxy S units. It makes perfect sense since the Galaxy A series phones are cheaper, and the offering is much larger. The price range is also wider, which means the Galaxy A series caters to more categories of customers than Samsung's Galaxy S flagship series.Samsung typically introduces new Galaxy A series phones in the first quarter of the year, but we don't get any details about the devices until later into the year. This time around it appears that the folks at GalaxyClub have been able to obtain the first details about a phone that's supposed to be launched on the market in March 2026, the Galaxy A57.
According to sources familiar with Samsung's plans, the Galaxy A57 will bring several upgrades over the current Galaxy A56. One of the upgrades is a better processor, an in-house developed Exynos 1680 chipset.

Even so, we expect performance to increase, even if marginally. We'll probably have the first benchmarks of the Exynos 1680 closer to the chipset's launch.Probably not as interesting is the fact that the chipset is known internally as Terra. Also, Exynos 1680 is supposedly using an XClipse 550 GPU (graphics processing unit), which is based on AMD's architecture. In comparison, the Exynos 1580 chipset, which powers the Galaxy A56, uses an XClipse 560 GPU.But, as mentioned earlier, these details don't say anything about performance, they just imply that we should expect some improvements when it comes to performance.
Since the Galaxy A56 and Galaxy A55 have been introduced in March, it's probably safe to say that the Galaxy A57 will also be announced in March 2026. That means that we have quite a few months to complete all the missing pieces of the puzzle and unravel all the upgrades the Galaxy A57 plans to bring over the Galaxy A56 .

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra's battery to be bigger and charge faster

Samsung's Galaxy S26 Ultra is coming next year (most likely in January) and rumors are already swirling about it. Given how most of its Chinese competitors have recently upped the game significantly when it comes to battery capacity, you may have been wondering what to expect from the S26 Ultra. If a tipster on X is correct, then Samsung's next flagship device is going to have a bigger battery than its predecessor's. But not by much. The S26 Ultra is said to employ a 5,500 mAh cell, vs. the S25 Ultra's 5,000 mAh. Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra That's still a 10% increase, but battery sizes starting with 6 and 7 are becoming the norm for Chinese brands, so this will clearly be seen as a weakness for the S26 Ultra when it arrives. On the flip side, it is said to support 65W charging, for the first time a Samsung smartphone is going to go past the previously-inescapable 45W threshold. Of course we don't yet know what this will mean in terms of charging time and how much it will improve that, but it's good news nevertheless. We're also looking forward to finding out how much a Samsung 65W charger will cost, as naturally there won't be any such item in the phone's box. Interestingly, while the battery capacity will increase, the S26 Ultra is said to be thinner than its predecessor's 8.2mm. And it will also support the recently unveiled Qi2 25W wireless charging standard - and 25W will be a record for Samsung smartphones in terms of wireless charging. Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra Source

The Pixel Watch 4 appears to have new colors and bands in newly leaked renders

Google Pixel Watch 4 render | Image credit — Android Headlines Following the newly leaked information about its charger, we can now take a closer look at the new colors of the Pixel Watch 4 and some of its bands. The newly leaked set of images follows similar leaks, which revealed the colors the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold, including one by Google new set of images, leaked by Android Headlines, shows the Pixel Watch 4 in what appear to be official renders. If those images are real, we can safely assume that Google's upcoming wearable won't be much of a visual case of the device is very similar to last year's, and the colors might be one of the most significant visual differences. The renders show the following band options and their colors: Active Band in Obsidian, Porcelain, and Moonstone colors Sport Band in Indigo, Iris, and Limoncello colors While we see only a few of the options, both bands might be available in many other colors when released. The Active bands may also be made of a new material, which should make them more comfortable. According to reports, the Active Sport band will feature a much wider range of available colors. Similar to last year, the Stretch Band may be only available for the smaller Pixel Watch 4 model. Previous rumors suggested the Pixel Watch 4 would have slimmer bezels, but in the new images, they appear unchanged. That's why we can safely assume that any difference, if there's one, will be minimal. There will be four colors for the case of the Pixel Watch 4 : Most changes to the Pixel 4 Watch won't be related to the design. The watch is rumored to have a redesigned side-mounted charging system, featuring the third different charger in four generations of Google watches. The device may also have a bigger and faster-charging battery, which would be a welcome upgrade. Google will face stiff competition with the Pixel Watch 4 . Samsung has just released the Galaxy Watch 8, and Apple will likely release the Apple Watch Series 11 and Apple Watch Ultra 3 in September. Google is expected to launch the Pixel Watch 4 alongside the Pixel 10 series on August 20. I expect the Pixel Watch 4 to be one of the pleasant surprises in the wearables world this fall. Google appears to be focused on improving the device's internals by adding faster charging, a larger battery, and various new features. That's always a good way to win fans, which can serve as an excuse for not doing much in terms of a visual refresh.
