Basher Watts's rollercoaster experience with Shes Perfect, victim of a controversial stewards' decision which cost her Classic success, continued with news she won't be in action again until at least the autumn
Basher Watts, the social media influencer with his own racehorse ownership syndicate, has had to share more frustrating news about his star filly.

Watts created his own TikTok channel two years ago to document his days out on the racecourse before launching his own syndicate, made up mostly of first-time racehorse owners. Basher Watts Racing has four horses in training, the best of which Shes Perfect gave them an unforgettable yet frustrating day out when she was controversially demoted to second in the French 1,000 Guineas after finishing first past the post at Paris-Longchamp.

An appeal against the stewards' decision was unsuccessful and the owners subsequently turned down a £1.7 million offer from Japan for the filly originally bought privately for £42,000.

Shes Perfect has not run since finishing ninth in the French Oaks in June and missed an engagement in the Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket last week and has now been ruled out of other potential targets such as the Celebration Mile at Goodwood, Prix Rothschild at Deauville and the Matron Stakes at Leopardstown
Watts posted: 'Unfortunately Shes Perfect has had a setback and won't be running at the end of this month. Gutted not to see our superstar back on track doing what she loves but she's ok which is the main thing.

'Had we ran in the Falmouth last Friday it could've been a different story so I'm thanking my lucky stars. There's a chance we see her at the end of this season, if not, we wrap her up and have another rollercoaster of a season next year!'
Trainer Charlie Fellowes said the issue was only minor and she may be back for the Prix de la Foret on Arc weekend in October.
'I'm afraid Shes Perfect has had a setback, it will be touch and go as to whether we see her again this year,' said Fellowes. 'She's going to need a few weeks on the easy list and we are hopeful of having her back in time for the Foret.
'It's nothing serious, but she will require a little bit of time off. We will work backwards from the Foret, but if it's not the right thing to do then we will put her away and she will be back bigger and better next year.
'She's a lovely filly and she's only going to improve next year, the future is still very bright.'

A ship banned from this weekend's Tall Ships Races in Aberdeen due to Russian sanctions has now been turned away from Orkney as the captain vowed to press on towards the Granite City. The TS Shtandart was turned away by HM Coastguard as it attempted to anchor off the Orkney coast this afternoon (Thursday). Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Earlier this week, captain Vladimir Matus learned the ship had been banned from the Port of Aberdeen and had its Tall Ships Races registration revoked due to sanctions designed to pressure Russia into ending its war with Ukraine. Mr Matus, was born in Russia but said he was half Ukrainian and now a tax citizen of Germany who had never supported the war. After being turned away from Orkney, Mr Matus and his crew of 22 , which represent 13 different nationalities aged between 18 and 70, is now set to anchor of Dunnett Head in Caithness tonight. Mr Matus said: 'They were very polite and very nice at Orkney but we are currently in a very difficult situation. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad 'I do not think it is fair that we were not allowed to anchor at Orkney. There is no legal right to ban the ship.' The ship, based on an early 18th Century flagship of Peter the Great, is a replica traditionally-crafted boat used for sail training, which did not qualify for sanctions, Mr Matus said. READ MORE: Ship banned from Tall Ships Races due to Russian sanctions Captain Vladimir Matus | contributed The ship dropped the Russian flag in June last year and now sails under Cook Islands colours following guidance from French authorities. However, the Port of Aberdeen said sanctions applied as the Russian flag was still in use after the relevant legislation which bans Russian vessels from British waters was introduced in 2022. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Mr Matus and his crew have sailed from Dunkirk in order to take part in the Tall Ships Races this weekend, with around 50 vessels from around the world to gather in Aberdeen from Friday. The captain said he still planned to sail close to Aberdeen to join the starting line for the next leg of the race across the North Sea to Norway. Some crew members are set to disembark the ship close to Aberdeen and sail ashore in dinghies. The captain has already been told that he will be denied entry to Kristiansand in Norway and Esbjerg in Denmark. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad The decision led to Port of Aberdeen to also ban the ship from entry, with the race organisers, Sail Training International , cancelling his registration. 'We are going to start the race and race according to the rules. The sea is for everyone,' Mr Matus said. The Shtandart has sailed across Europe since 1999, providing training for young sailors and taking part in maritime festivals, including previous Tall Ship Races. Mr Matus earlier told The Scotsman that he last visited Russia 10 years ago. But he now confirmed that he visited the country of his birth in 2022 for two weeks on a business trip to update his seaman's book.

Coldplay concert turns awkward as mortified couple 'called out' by Chris Martin in kiss cam

Coldplay are on their the Music of the Spheres world tour at the moment and footage from a 'kiss cam' at a recent gig prompted reaction from singer Chris Martin Footage of two people at a Coldplay concert in the US has gone viral this week after they were featured on a 'kiss cam'. They seemed to be camera shy whilst on screen together and Chris Martin even poked fun at the pair's reaction. ‌ The video is said to have been filmed at the Gillette Stadium in Boston, with singer Chris, 48, and his bandmates having performed at the venue on Tuesday and then last night. The gigs are part of their ongoing Music of the Spheres world tour, which will be heading to the UK later this year. ‌ After showing other audience members at one of the gigs, the camera pans to two people on a balcony. Addressing the pair, who appeared to be swaying to the music whilst holding hands, Chris said: "Oh look at these two!" ‌ They soon reacted to being broadcast on a screen at the venue in the footage shared on social media today. One of them quickly covered their face before turning their back to the camera, whilst the other ducked down out of view. Chris said: "Alright. Come on, you're okay." He appeared to then tease over their reactions to being spotted: "Oh what? Either they're having an affair or they're just very shy." As the video ends, he begins to say: "I'm not quite sure." ‌ The audience were initially heard laughing as the pair hid from the camera after first being seen cuddled up together. Fans later appeared to be cheering and even whistling as Chris teased over the situation during the concert. The footage was shared through a TikTok account earlier today. It has since amassed more than 17 million views on the platform alone, whilst a post including the same video that has been circulating on X has 7.5 million views. ‌ Chris is touring with his bandmates Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman and Will Champion at the moment. Coldplay embarked on the world tour in 2022 and it's due to come to an end at Wembley Stadium in London in September. They are however next scheduled to perform at venues in Madison, Nashville and Miami as they conclude the final North American leg of the three-year tour. Coldplay will then head to Craven Park in Hull before their gigs in London. The band were supported by Elyanna and Ayra Starr at their gigs in Boston earlier this year. They are set to be joined by additional special guests including Tems and Beabadoobee for their summer concerts in the UK later this year.

Aidan O'Brien says Delacroix 'on York programme' not Glorious Goodwood path

The Ballydoyle trainer confirmed the Coral-Eclipse Stakes winner will head to the Juddmonte International despite bookmakers' slashing his odds for the Sussex Stakes on Thursday Aidan O'Brien insists Delacroix remains on course for next month's Juddmonte International - despite a wholesale gamble on the Coral-Eclipse Stakes hero for the Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood. ‌ The beaten Derby favourite, who redeemed his reputation with a neck defeat of Ombudsman over a mile and a quarter at Sandown Park 12 days ago, was available at 16-1 on Wednesday for the Visit Qatar-sponsored Group 1 test. Market support down to 5-1 triggered speculation Delacroix would step back to a mile for a clash with Sussex Stakes hotpot Field Of Gold, an imperious winner of the Irish 2,000 Guineas and St James's Palace Stakes on his last two starts. ‌ William Hill spokesperson Lee Phelps said: 'We're less than two weeks away from the Sussex Stakes, and the much-anticipated clash between Field Of Gold and Delacroix could be coming sooner than we thought. ‌ 'The Juddmonte had seemed their potential first head-to-head, but we've taken notable money for Aidan O'Brien's Eclipse hero to see him more than halve in price for the Sussex. 'He's now a 5-1 shot from 16s, and while he still has a way to go to get to Field Of Gold at 4-7 favourite, his price collapse could suggest that Ballydoyle are seriously considering dropping him back to the mile. ‌ "We'd still expect Field Of Gold to be very hard to beat over this course and distance, but their meeting would be a tantalising prospect for racing fans.' But O'Brien stressed the Knavesmire on August 20 - he is set to be joined in the York line-up by Prix du Jockey Club (French Derby) victor and Eclipse fourth Camille Pissarro - is still next on the Dubawi colt's to-do list, Ballydoyle's Henri Matisse, winner of the Poule d'Essai des Poulains (French 2,000 Guineas) at Longchamp before a second to Field Of Gold at Royal Ascot, will seek revenge on his John and Thady Gosden-trained rival on the South Downs in 12 days' time. 'The plan for Delacroix and Camille Pissarro is that they are both on the York programme,' O'Brien reported on Thursday. 'Henri Matisse will go for the Sussex.' O'Brien's Minnie Hauk is William Hill's 2-9 favourite to add Saturday's Irish Oaks to her triumph in the Epsom original after a total of seven rivals were declared for the Curragh Classic yesterday.
