
Samsung Galaxy A56, A36 get this flagship Gemini feature with latest May update: Report
To trigger Gemini, you can now choose which assistant the side button activates. In your Galaxy phone's settings, you can select between Gemini or Bixby. To launch it, simply press and hold the side button, and the Gemini AI assistant will spring to life. Previously, this feature was exclusive to Samsung's Galaxy S Series, such as the Galaxy S25 series.
Samsung's Internet changelog also notes that Gemini now works with other Samsung apps, including Calendar, Notes, Reminders, and even Clock. You can complete tasks in these apps using Gemini. Additionally, you can ask Google Gemini to search for a particular YouTube video and save the results in Samsung Notes, as well as find sports team schedules and add them to your calendar.

Alongside the AI tricks and quick access to Gemini, both phones also receive Samsung's May 2025 security patch, providing protection against various vulnerabilities and security threats addressed in this update.
Reports indicate that Samsung had previously promised to bring the same update to other A Series devices as well. However, it remains to be seen when these features will be rolled out for those models.

Windsurf raised $240 million and reached a valuation of $1.25 billion. It was later named among Forbes' top 50 AI companies globally. Google and OpenAI were both interested in acquiring Varun Mohan's startup, Windsurf, because of its breakthrough product, Cascade—an AI-native coding environment that allows developers to write, test, and refactor code using natural language. The tool had gained rapid adoption among developers and posed a potential shift in how software is built, making it a strategic asset in the race for dominance in agentic coding and AI-assisted development. OpenAI was close to acquiring Windsurf for $3 billion. However, its primary investor, Microsoft, raised concerns over possible overlaps with GitHub Copilot. As a result, the deal stalled midway. Varun Mohan then accepted Google's $2.4 billion offer. The agreement is not an acquisition. It is a licensing and talent deal, which gives Google DeepMind non-exclusive rights to key Windsurf technologies. Windsurf continues to function as an independent company and can license its tools to other the deal, Mohan, Chen, and a select group from Windsurf's R&D team have joined Google DeepMind to work on agentic coding projects and integrate their systems with Google's Gemini the deal, Forbes added Varun Mohan and Douglas Chen to its 2025 list of richest immigrants. Consumer electronics maker Samsung on Saturday said it has received 2.1 lakh pre-orders for the latest seventh generation of its foldable smartphone series within 48 hours of its launch in India. Samsung's seventh generation of foldable smartphone series was launched in India on Jul 9, 2025. Samsung, which last week launched Galaxy Z Fold7, Galaxy Z Flip7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 FE smartphones, said this huge number of pre-orders signals "huge consumer demand and excitement for the brand's seventh generation of foldable". It is "nearly equalling the pre-orders received for the Galaxy S25 series earlier this year", Samsung Electronics said in a statement. Samsung had received a record 4.3 lakh pre-orders for its smartphone Galaxy S25, in a nearly three-week period after the launch. For the first 48 hours, the number of pre-orders for S25 and Fold7/Flip7 is almost identical. The company priced these Made-in-India foldable smartphones between Rs 89,000 and Rs 2.11 lakh. Galaxy Z Fold7 starting from Rs 1.75 lakh and going up to Rs 2.11 lakh. Galaxy Z Flip7 is priced between Rs 1.10 lakh and Rs 1.22 lakh. Galaxy Z Flip7 FE price starts from Rs 89,000 and Rs 95,999.
