Charli XCX And George Daniel Got Married

Buzz Feed18 hours ago
"360" singer Charli XCX and George Daniel, drummer of the band The 1975, are officially a married couple!
BBC reports that the pair, who first confirmed their engagement in November 2023, apparently wed in London.
Charli and George first linked up after working on "Spinning" with The 1975 and No Rome in 2021.
The BBC added that a fan video sparked online speculation of their wedding when they were spotted on the steps of Hackney Town Hall on July 19.
They reportedly invited 20 wedding guests, including Charli's parents and Daniel's bandmates (except Matty Healy).
Charli seemingly confirmed the news when she posted a TikTok video posing in a white wedding dress and veil with the text "when george ins't crying when he sees me walking down the aisle." In the caption, Charli wrote, "luckily he did xx."
Charli shared a second video captioned "bridal party energy!" which included a shot of George wearing Charli's veil.
Reacting to the video of the newlyweds, one fan said, "So George Daniel is now George XCX."
"this is the single most important thing since we discovered fire," another said.
Another fan wrote, "this is my royal wedding."
Finally, Tinashe wrote "CONGRATS QUEEN," with a champagne toast emoji.
Congrats, George and Charli!
We reached out to Charli's team for more details, and we'll let you know if we hear back!

Ellen DeGeneres confirms Trump provoked UK move: It's 'just better'

Ellen DeGeneres is making a rare political comment regarding the motivation behind her move from the United States – and it's about President Donald Trump. The former talk show host, in her first public event since leaving the U.S., confirmed Trump was the catalyst for her move with wife Portia de Rossi to the English countryside, according to the BBC and the Guardian. "We got here the day before the election and woke up to lots of texts from our friends with crying emojis, and I was like, '(Trump) got in,'" DeGeneres said during a conversation event in South West England on Sunday, July 20. "And we're like, 'We're staying here.'" DeGeneres and de Rossi bought a house in Cotswolds, England, in 2024, following her Last Stand…Up Tour, according to the outlets. The couple had originally planned for the home to be a "part-time house" where they would spend three to four months out of the year, but made the move permanent after the 2024 election. "It's clean. Everything here is just better – the way animals are treated, people are polite. I just love it here," she added. DeGeneres joined fellow comedian Rosie O'Donnell in a move from the U.S. post-Trump election. O'Donnell announced in late 2024 that she had moved to Ireland, and her comments regarding her exit have reignited her longstanding feud with Trump. Donald Trump threatens to revoke longtime foe Rosie O'Donnell's US citizenship In a Truth Social post July 12, Trump said that "because of the fact that Rosie O'Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship." The president does not have constitutional power to revoke citizenship. In response, O'Donnell posted a picture of Trump and convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, asking if he is "rattled again? 18 years later and I still live rent-free in that collapsing brain of yours." Rosie O'Donnell slams Donald Trump as 'tangerine Mussolini' as feud escalates And in November, Eva Longoria revealed she no longer lives in America full-time, telling Marie Claire in an interview: "I'm privileged. I get to escape and go somewhere. Most Americans aren't so lucky. They're going to be stuck in this dystopian country, and my anxiety and sadness is for them." Rebus Season 2: Release date speculation, cast and plot details – Everything we know so far

By Aman Shukla Published on July 21, 2025, 19:30 IST Last updated July 21, 2025, 12:15 IST Alright, Rebus fans, let's talk about the show that's got us all hooked! The BBC's gritty take on Ian Rankin's legendary detective series dropped a killer first season in 2024, and now we're all dying to know what's next for Detective Sergeant John Rebus. With Season 2 officially confirmed, we've rounded up everything we know so far—release date guesses, cast vibes, and plot predictions. Rebus Season 2 Potential Release Date So, when's it landing? Season 1 hit BBC One and iPlayer on May 17, 2024, after filming kicked off in spring 2023 and wrapped later that year. It took a few months to polish it up for release. If Season 2 follows a similar vibe, they might start shooting in early 2026, aiming for a release around late 2025 or maybe summer 2026. We are betting on a fall 2026 drop, with all episodes likely hitting BBC iPlayer for a binge-fest, plus weekly airings on BBC One and BBC Scotland. Rebus Season 2 Expected Cast The cast of Rebus is a huge reason it's so darn good, and we're expecting most of the gang to return. Here's the lowdown on who we think we'll see: Richard Rankin as John Rebus Lucie Shorthouse as Siobhan Clarke Stuart Bowman as Ger Cafferty Amy Manson as Rhona Moncrieffe Brian Ferguson as Michael Rebus Others: We might see Neshla Caplan as Chrissie, Michael's wife, or Mia McKenzie as Sammy, Rebus's daughter. New faces could pop up too—Rankin's books have no shortage of shady characters to pull from. Rebus Season 2 Potential Plot Okay, let's get into the juicy stuff—what's Season 2 gonna be about? If you haven't finished Season 1, we will keep things vague to avoid ruining it, but there are some big threads left hanging. Here's what we are expecting: That Shocking Season 1 Ending : The finale left us with a brutal murder tied to some shady dealings. Rebus is gonna be digging into Edinburgh's dark corners to figure out who's behind it, and it's not gonna be pretty. Family Drama : Rebus's relationship with his brother Michael is a mess after Michael's risky choices. Will Rebus track him down? Protect him? Or turn him in? It's classic Rebus, torn between family and the law. Rebus vs. Cafferty, Round 2 : The tension between Rebus and gangster Cafferty is electric. They've got this weird respect-hate thing going, and we are betting we'll see more mind games and power plays. Rebus's Personal Life : Our guy's not exactly winning at relationships. His ex-wife Rhona and daughter Sammy are dealing with their own pain, and Rebus's bad habits (and that messy affair) aren't helping. Expect more emotional gut-punches. New Crimes: Season 1 mixed original stories with vibes from Ian Rankin's books. Season 2 might pull from novels like Knots and Crosses or Resurrection Men , or keep going with a fresh tale. Either way, expect gritty cases, Edinburgh's drug scene, and some moral gray areas. The show's modern setting gives it room to tackle today's issues—think corruption, politics, or even social divides—while staying true to Rebus's world. It's gonna be raw, real, and full of that Scottish grit we love. Ahmedabad Plane Crash Aman Shukla is a post-graduate in mass communication . Look of the Week: Charli XCX is the anti-bride

While evolving bridal fashion trends have made suits, bright colors and shorter hemlines more common, the image of a demure, virgin-like woman in princess gown is still ubiquitous in western culture. But on Saturday, musician Charli XCX proved that going against bridal tradition isn't simply a matter of style, it's an attitude. At an east London townhall, the 'Brat' singer married her boyfriend, The 1975 drummer George Daniel, in an outfit that was faithful to her signature party girl style. An ivory, Vivienne Westwood mini dress — the most traditional element of her bridal get-up — was offset with her trademark blackout bugeye sunglasses, worn everywhere from her most recent Glastonbury Festival performance to out clubbing with friends. She donned a pair of Jimmy Choo Amita 95 court heels, but eschewed a necklace or bracelet, and instead wore just her engagement ring and two small hoops in her ears. Her long black hair was left down, embellished with a mid-length veil. Unfussy, pared-back and distinctly Charli. It didn't take long for photographs of the pair's low-key nuptials to circulate across the internet. On X, images of the newly-weds smoking and drinking orange wine at an outdoor table at popular neighbourhood Italian restaurant Dalla — the familiar acid glow of several parked Lime Bikes (the city's preferred E-bike provider) loomed in the background — spread fast. No one found Charli's anti-bride vibe more endearing than her fellow Londoners: 'Just married, cig & drink in hand, sat in front of lime bikes. The king and queen of east London. Everything is romantic,' read one post on X now liked over 49,000 times. 'Idk (I don't know) how to explain it but I really love when brides get married looking very much like themselves,' added another. In recent years, many celebrities have taken to mining the archives of Old Hollywood for wedding inspiration. Even high-profile brides known for their distinct, rule-breaking style seem to have fallen in line when it comes to walking down the aisle. In 2019, Zoë Kravitz swapped her minimalist, cool-girl edge for an Audrey Hepburn inspired Alexander Wang drop-waist wedding gown. Similarly Paris Hilton, queen of mini skirts, crop tops and Juicy Couture tracksuits, referenced Princess of Monaco Grace Kelly for her dress in 2021. In Charli's case, it's clear the only reference was herself. Westwood has become an unofficial tradition for fashion-forward brides including Demi Lovato, Barbara Palvin, Miley Cyrus and even Carrie Bradshaw — the fictitious 'Sex and the City' fashion-addict and relationships writer — who opted for a Westwood bridal gown to marry Mr Big. Charli's irreverent version, styled more like she's the last man standing at an after-hours party than a traditional blushing bride, harked back to the London label's punk origins. 'People are drawn to Vivienne Westwood because she stands for something,' the brand's creative director, Andreas Kronthaler, told CNN earlier this year. 'She stands for women, and for strength, power and courage.' He continued: 'The Vivienne Westwood bride is a heroine.'
