Mum tells parents to BAN their kids from watching Peppa Pig over ‘insane' detail that makes him a ‘bad influence'

The Sun21 hours ago
A MOTHER has urged fellow parents to stop letting their kids watch Peppa Pig after she noticed her tot mimicking the animated character's ''bad behaviour''.
Kelly Arvan, from Victoria, Australia, said her three-year-old son Kia had started impulsively saying ''You're not my best friend'' to everyone around him.

At first, the mum was baffled because she didn't know where he had picked up the phrase - but she asked him to stop repeating it, and he did.
A few weeks later, Kia was watching Peppa Pig when the main character suddenly blurted out: ''You're not my best friend anymore''.
''It's insane. I have watched back episodes myself... and Peppa isn't a good influence at all. I'm shocked,'' Kelly told Daily Mail Australia.
The mother-of-two said she has since banned her son Kia from watching the show because she doesn't agree with the way Peppa treats her little brother George.
''It worries me because Peppa is really mean to her little brother.
''My three-year-old son Kia has a seven-month-old brother Kian and he treats him so kindly and loving so I would never want Kia to get a bad influence from Peppa,'' Kelly shared.
''It's a great warning for other parents who are totally oblivious like I was.''
The catchphrase ''You're not my best friend'' appears in numerous episodes of the cult favourite children's TV show, including one where Peppa accuses her best friend Suzy of cheating during a card game of snap.
''I don't want to play with you anymore,'' Peppa exclaimed, as Suzy, replied: ''I don't want to play with you anymore.''
''I am not talking to her,'' Peppa said as she pointed her finger at Suzy.
Mums issue stark warning about 'dark Peppa Pig' videos going viral on YouTube set out to target and terrify your kids
Peppa's mum nervously laughed it off, before telling Suzy's mum: ''I'm sure they'll make it up... They are best friends.''
However, Peppa disagreed, snapping back: ''It's not funny,' prompting Suzy to storm off, saying 'We are not best friends anymore.''
In the next scene, Suzy called Peppa and said: ''We can be friends again... if you say 'Sorry'.''
Peppa responded: ''I'm sorry I said you cheated, even though you did cheat.''
The conversation quickly fell apart, ending with Suzy saying: ''I'm sorry you were ever my best friend.''
Peppa Pig legacy
PEPPA Pig first aired in 2004 and has since been broadcast in 180 territories and translated into 40 languages.
Now it's spawned books, toys and even two theme parks, with the global Peppa empire now worth over £1billion.
Creators Neville Astley and Mark Baker admitted they were initially worried the idea would never get off the ground, and that people at first, were bored of the idea.
Astley explained: "People in the pub would ask us, 'What are you drawing?' We'd say, 'A pig, called Peppa, it's going to be big'.
'They'd lose interest and wander off."
Kelly was shocked when she realised her tot had picked up the phrase from the show, prompting her to make a video warning other parents.
''Warning to all parents who let their children, specifically toddlers, watch Peppa Pig,'' she said.
The mum said other parents had previously warned her that Peppa Pig came across as ''rude'', but she never thought twice about letting her little one watch the popular show.
''About a month ago, he started going around to everyone, saying: 'You're not my best friend... You're not my best friend','' Kelly recalled.
''And he was saying it quite often and I kept saying to him, 'Where are you learning this? That's not nice to say to someone. You're not allowed to say that anymore'. And he stopped saying it.''
Over the weekend, the family was enjoying some quiet time on the couch while Kia was watching Peppa Pig when Kelly suddenly heard the phrase.
''I hear Peppa Pig saying, 'You're not my best friend anymore'. I look at the TV and I look at Kia and I've just turned off Peppa Pig. I'm like, 'You're not allowed to watch Peppa Pig anymore','' she said.
'Peppa Pig is a brat'
Her video, posted under the username @ kellyarvan, has been viewed more than 400,000 times in just one day - with many parents agreeing with her, some even confirming their kids no longer watch Peppa Pig.
''Peppa Pig is a brat, I banned my kids when I noticed their energy shifting,'' one said.
''Oh yes it's bad as. She fat shames her dad and everything. We stopped watching Peppa in our house years ago,'' another shared.
''I couldn't stand Peppa Pig. My niece would always say, 'I can't do it' and she'd never try to do things and yep... it was from that annoying pig,'' one shared.
''Could not agree more! Peppa Pig is a Bully! My kids are banned from watching,'' another chimed in.
Some parents and teachers suggested their kids had picked up the phrase from childcare and school.
''My daughter doesn't watch Peppa Pig and 100 per cent got this from childcare and kindergarten,'' one shared.
''Unfortunately I work in childcare and the 'You're not my best friend' comment is age appropriate especially through that three-six age group. I see it year in and year out constantly.
''Peppa Pig or not - it's a phase they all go through,'' another said.

Mikaela Testa's mansion hits the rental market after the TikTok star fled Australia over safety fears

The Queensland mansion OnlyFans star Mikaela Testa once called home is up for rent. Located at Burleigh Waters on the Gold Coast, the property is available to new tenants at a whopping $2,700 per week from July 21. Testa, 25, moved into the four-bedroom, two-bathroom spread in 2023, paying $2,000 per week. The property features a sprawling outdoor 'party zone', and includes a pool, entertainment deck and an al fresco dining space. The resort-style pad, dubbed Ruin X, was originally a four-bedroom, two-bathroom family home before undergoing a complete redesign. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. The home, known as the Marble Mansion, features soaring ceilings and curved archways. Other highlights include a formal dining room, a grand chandelier as well as an onyx kitchen island. It last sold for $2,713,888 at auction in 2022 to Melbourne investor Christopher Shao, who then hired the space out for luxury events at $4,000 a day. However, the house was tenanted by Testa at $2,000 a week in 2023 after it returned to the market and failed to sell at a $3million price guide. She moved into the home with her bodybuilder fiancé, Maxwell Krause. Testa took to social media last month to reveal she was moving to Germany 'until further notice'. She told her TikTok followers she was relocating to her apartment in Frankfurt and announced that she had 'no plans' to ever return to Australia. 'I've packed up my entire house, and I'm going in two days, and I don't plan to ever come back,' she said in a video filmed from the kitchen of Ruin X. 'The youth crime in this town where I live is so f***ing bad. I don't want to live here anymore, I don't feel safe here.' 'Every time I move, people find out where I live. My door is made of glass, so people yell things out… sometimes it's really degrading,' she continued. 'I love Australia. I think it's one of the most beautiful countries in the world, but it's just not what it used to be.' Testa, who has been learning German, went on to tell her followers in the comments she has 'no desire' to return home.

From an abusive father to romantic heartbreak, Jelena Dokic is finally getting the love she deserves - as details emerge about her new handsome boyfriend

Jelena Dokic has found love again after she was left 'shattered' in the aftermath of her split from her long-time boyfriend, Tin Bikic, in 2021. The tennis champ, 42, revealed last year she was 'closed off' after the heartbreaking experience. It was another blow to her heart after the years-long abuse she suffered at the hands of her father, Damir Dokic. But things are looking up for Jelena. Yane Veselinov has captured the heart of the Australian sports commentator, with the pair confirming their relationship on Monday in a sweet Instagram post. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. The pair were first spotted cuddling up together at Melbourne Airport in May, with Jelena unable to wipe the grin off her face as she accepted an embrace from Yane. A glance at Yane's social footprint reveals he relocated to Melbourne after previously living in Sydney and Perth. Like Jelena, Yane is from the Balkans and is Macedonian. He has a brother named Vladimir and a sister named Mihaela, as well as a mother, Dragica, who currently lives in Skopje, North Macedonia. Yane proudly became an Australian citizen late last year, announcing the news on November 14 with a celebratory post. 'Today I made a pledge to this beautiful country that I will obey all of the laws and respect the political and democratic views,' he wrote. 'To be honest and independent Australian—thank you so much Australia for giving me the BEST... it's official, I'm an Aussie!' Jelena's new love works as a Hospitality Operations Manager, and specialises in 'creating magical moments and orchestrating flawless events'. According to his LinkedIn account, Yane has been the Operations Manager at Wine and Cheese Fest since November 2018. Before that, he had a brief eight-month stint at Food & Desire and worked as the Events Manager at The Malthouse Theatre from 2021 to 2022. Yane also held a position as a Marketing Consultant at Numero IX from 2020 to 2021, and a Managing Partner at Casual Dining Concepts from 2015 to 2018 in Sydney. The first job he has listed in Australia was in Perth as the Events Manager for Portofinos Restaurant and Function Centre from 2011 to 2015. Yane's Instagram is filled with photos of food and trips to art exhibits and concerts throughout Melbourne. He also appears to have a love of tennis, attending the Australian Open in 2020. He states in his bio he is a 'food and wine enthusiast', 'pleasure seeker', and 'life enjoyer'. Jelena went Instagram official with Yane on Monday. The sports commentator shared a loved-up photo of the pair to social media alongside a sweet caption. Jelena gushed over her new man, writing: 'You are my calm, safe, peaceful and happy place. So glad I found you.' Yane also shared the picture to his Instagram Stories just a few hours later, captioning it with, 'My all,' alongside a series of heart-face emojis. The couple were first spotted together at Melbourne Airport back in May. Jelena was seen exiting her flight and grinning broadly as she accepted a warm embrace from her bearded man and entered the terminal. Late last year, Jelena revealed she had been 'closed off' to finding love ever since she split from her long-time Brazilian boyfriend, Tin. The couple were together for almost 19 years before announcing they had ended their relationship in 2021. Despite saying her walls have been up ever since, Jelena took to Instagram to make the heartbreaking admission that she was 'scared of being alone' for the rest of her life. 'Love. It's been a challenging personal period. We don't talk about this enough but relationship breakdowns are so tough,' she said alongside a selfie. 'And if you have been the one left hurt or abandoned then let's be honest, it's just life-shattering. And as you get older, it only gets tougher with more scars, pain and hurt. 'My 19-year relationship ended 4 years ago and while we will always care for each other, especially because we were together since we were 20, that chapter is over.' Jelena went on to say she was 'built' to love one person 'unconditionally and so fully that it gets me in trouble'. 'It turns into heartbreak and pain,' she added. 'I put up walls 4 years ago and I said they are never coming down. 'But as life likes to show us, not everything we plan or think will happen actually does. So, of course, someone brought those walls down and I got hurt. Badly. 'So, I guess the question is: Do we keep our walls down and hope love comes along? Or do we never give it a chance again and don't allow the walls to come down? 'There are people that will have different answers. I have now been alone and closed off for 4 years and I still don't know what the answer is.' The Australian tennis commentator said she now has 'a lot of abandonment issues' from her past, which make her 'feel like I will be alone forever'. Jelena was referring to the horrendous abuse she suffered at the hands of her father and tennis coach, Damir. 'Am I the only one scared of being alone for the rest of my life?' the media personality candidly asked her fans.' 'Bringing walls down has also brought some feelings and triggers I never had before and I don't know how to react or what to do,' Jelena continued in the lengthy missive. 'Bottom line is it's tough and what do we do? Close ourselves off forever or get hurt and feel pain in order to one day maybe feel that unbelievable and crazy love again?' Jelena ended her searching questions by saying she had come down on the side of hope and openness. 'I will never give up and one day those walls will come down again and hopefully the wait, pain, hurt and disappointment will be worth it and I will find that amazing love,' she said. It certainly seems Jelena has found her 'amazing love', just as other aspects of her life have also begun to fall into place. The former athlete went under the radar after her retirement from professional tennis in 2014, only to come back few years later and become just as successful in media. She quickly became a prominent face in tennis commentary, landing a role with Fox Sports at the Australian Open in January 2017. The same year, she published an autobiography, Unbreakable, about her life, career, and the years of physical and mental abuse she suffered at the hands of her father. It topped the Australian book charts on its first day of release and inspired a documentary film about her life in 2024. She published another book in 2023, Fearless: Finding the Power to Thrive, which also tells the story of how she survived poverty, trauma, and family violence. Jelena is now a commentator and expert analyst for Channel Nine at Wimbledon. She has also been sharing her recent weight-loss journey with fans after shedding 20kg in ten months, following a two-decade-long battle with an eating disorder.

Wild conspiracy theory emerges about Delta Goodrem following her lavish wedding to Matthew Copley

A wild conspiracy theory has emerged about Delta Goodrem after she made headlines for her lavish wedding to Matthew Copley. A Reddit user posted to the platform this week to ask, 'What caused Delta Goodrem to lose popularity so fast?' Social media users flooded the comments section with possible reasons why the Born To Try hitmaker suddenly dipped in the estimation of Australian audiences. 'Aged past her intended audience and never updated her style,' one person guessed. Another person similarly wrote: 'She was manufactured by the pop machine and now past her use-by date.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'She was just so predictable,' one more wrote. 'They spammed her everywhere as well,' someone else said, which invited a response from another Reddit user. 'Big time. There was a point where Channel Nine had her on everything. Now they have Sophie Monk for that,' they wrote. Another person thoughtfully added: 'Is it possible she was only ever artificially famous? Some people rise to fame because they are blisteringly talented, or controversial, or happen to be in the right place at the right time.' They added: 'Some people become famous because they are talented enough, good-looking enough, and compliant enough for a PR machine to build fame around them... Once that machine moves on to younger, prettier, more exploitable talent, that fame evaporates. 'I always assumed Delta was in the camp - half a decade or so of fame, another decade of being a B-list celebrity on TV, then a lifetime of playing at local RSL clubs.' Despite the criticism, some of Delta's fans were quick to defend her. 'I think she's beautiful and has a wonderful voice,' commented one admirer. 'There are thousands of other artists out there who would love to be a big "failure" like Delta,' another wrote. Delta is on a career high and, earlier this year, spent time in the UK performing a series of exclusive shows to mark 20 years since her iconic Mistaken Identity album. The pop star even thrilled her fans with a live performance at a London train station in May. The Australian songstress sat down behind the Sir Elton John piano at St Pancras International Station, to the immense delight of the gathered crowd. Delta's last Aussie gig was at the Sydney Opera House in April as part of her Mistaken Identity 20th anniversary celebration. The veteran singer shocked fans when she invited Cody Simpson to the stage. Delta and Cody looked at ease as they performed an emotional duet of her song, Almost Here, which she originally sang with her former boyfriend Brian McFadden. Cody later took to social media to reflect on the career milestone. 'Thank you to the legendary Delta Goodrem for the honour tonight,' he began. 'It was a pleasure to sing at the Sydney Opera House for the first time, and to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Delta's album Mistaken Identity.' The special performance was held to celebrate the immense success of Delta's second album, which reached number one in Australia and also charted in the UK and New Zealand. Delta recently married the love of her life, Matthew Copley, in Malta. The couple exchanged vows in June in the historic St Paul's Cathedral in Mdina, which was built in the 12th century. The reception then took place at Naxxar's Palazzo Parisio, an estate with exquisite gardens that was constructed in the 18th century. The blushing bride stunned in an off-the-shoulder wedding gown with a racy sweetheart neckline, designed by South Australian fashion designer Paul Vasileff.
