UEFA give club 10-year ban as player banned FOR LIFE for match fixing
UEFA have handed a 10-year ban to Montenegro outfit FK Arsenal Tivat and given them a £434,000 fine over integrity issues and match-fixing allegations during a Conference League match.
The club will not be allowed to compete in any UEFA-governed tournament - including the Champions League, Europa League or Conference League - until the 2034-35 season at the very earliest.
A number of players and staff members have also been slapped with bans after the investigation.
Defender Nikola Celebic and director Ranko Krgovic have both been given life-long bans from all football-related activities and have requested that FIFA extend the ban worldwide.
Captain Cetko Manojlovic has received a ten-year ban, along with defender Radule Zivkovic, goalkeeper Dusan Puletic and official Milan Vignjevic.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Christos Psomiadis has been hit with an eight-year ban and club official Goran Janjusevic has been banned for six years.
UEFA said it had made its decisions "following an investigation and disciplinary proceedings against FK Arsenal Tivat and other individuals in relation to alleged violations of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations (DR) during the 2023/24 UEFA Conference League matches between Alashkert FC and FK Arsenal Tivat in July 2023".
FK Arsenal Tivat and Armenian side Alashkert played each other in a two legged first qualifying round of the 2023-24 Conference League.
The two teams drew the first game 1-1 in Armenia on July 13 after Julian Montenegro's first half strike was cancelled out by Vitali Ustinov.
But a week later there was a vastly different scoreline as Alashkert romped to a 6-1 thrashing of Tivat, sealing a 7-2 aggregate win.
Agdon Menezes had scored a hat-trick to give Alashkert the advantage, before Boban Dordevic pulled one back to make it 3-1 on the night.
Yeison Bossa Racines then made it four before Serob Grigoryan and Annan Mensah made it a demolition job with a strike each in stoppage time.

Going to go Fer Evan Ferguson wants to take Roma into the Champions League after joining from Brighton. The Irish striker, 20, has joined the Italian side on loan for a season with a view to a £33million move next summer. Ferguson has struggled for form and fitness in recent years and failed to score after joining West Ham on loan for the second half of last season. He said: 'When you have a club like Roma, one of the biggest in Europe, interested, it's hard to turn down, and especially when you feel like they want you to come here and explain how good it could be for you, your career and the club. 'For me it's a good opportunity. Obviously it's a big club and we want to finish as high as we can. 'When I came in we were talking about sort of Champions League targets and getting back up there so I think that's the expectation for this season.' Brighton left-back Pervis Estupinian is also in Italy ahead of a £17.5m move to join Serie A giants AC Milan. The 27-year-old joined the Seagulls from Villarreal in 2022 and will sign a five-year deal in Milan.

Rangers in Jesurun Rak-Sakyi transfer bid as stunning loan with £10m buy offer tabled
The 22-year-old former Chelsea youth star is on the Ibrox club's radar and it would take big bucks to land him Rangers have made their loan move for Crystal Palace winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi - with a stunning £10MILLION obligation to buy reportedly part of their bid. And while it has been rejected, Rangers are said to be determined to get their man and could return to the Selhurst Park bidding table with others interested in the winger. Russell Martin's Light Blues reign got off to a winning start with a 2-0 Champions League win over Greek side Panathinaikos. The Ibrox side have brought in seven new faces this summer but could make their biggest statement signing yet if they can land Rak-Sakyi. The Athletic say Rangers have 'made an offer for an initial loan with a potential obligation to buy worth up to £10million.' That potential fee for the 22-year-old former Chelsea youth winger would just be two million short of the Scottish football record Rangers paid for Tore Andre Flo almost quarter of a century ago. It would show the ambition of the club's new owners 49ers Enterprises - the kind Gers fans hoped for when the club takeover was completed. Rak-Sakyi has feature 10 times for the Eagles and was on loan at Sheffield United last season in the English Championship. The England Under-21 international played 36 times for the Blades with seven goals as they just missed out on promotion to the top flight following defeat in the play-offs.
