Olivia Rodrigo's Albums Chart Together — And Something Unusual Is Happening

Olivia Rodrigo's Sour and Guts both rise on the U.K. charts this week, with Sour climbing highest, ... More while Guts appears on physical and digital sales lists. There's something a bit unusual about Olivia Rodrigo's placements on the music charts in the United Kingdom this week. It's not odd that her only two full-lengths, Sour and Guts, appear simultaneously. The pop star's catalog remains hugely popular, even though the singer-songwriter hasn't released anything new in years.
It's the specific placements and exact positions of both Sour and Guts that may raise eyebrows. Their current standings speak to her ability to continually sell her work, as well as her unceasing success on streaming platforms.
Olivia Rodrigo's Sour and Guts Both Climb
Deciding between Sour and Guts in terms of which title is more successful on the U.K. musical lists this week is tricky. On one hand, Sour appears higher on the Official Albums chart, the ranking of the most consumed projects in the country, as it lifts to No. 30. Guts is only a few spots behind, landing at No. 34.
However, Guts lives on several rankings at the same time. In addition to its position on the Official Albums chart, the collection also climbs on both the Official Physical Albums and Official Albums Sales lists, lifting to Nos. 71 and 76, respectively.
Guts Proves to Be the Better Seller
Guts is the stronger seller between the two, as it's the only one that lands on rankings dedicated to fans actually buying albums. Pure purchases of Rodrigo's sophomore set seem to be increasing, as it grows by more than 10 spaces on the general Official Albums Sales ranking while ascending just a few spots on the roster that looks specifically at physical titles — those offered on CD, vinyl, and cassette.
Sour doesn't live on any such rosters, and yet it still manages to be the most-consumed between the pair. That must mean that between purchases and streaming activity, it's winning – but the fact that Sour doesn't appear on either sales or streaming rosters, yet bests Guts, is somewhat unusual.

Kelly Rowland Posts Behind-the-Scenes Snap from Her Role as a Coach on 'The Voice UK'

Kelly Rowland will appear as a coach on the upcoming season of The Voice UK Filming for season 14 of the British singing competition series is underway, but a premiere date is not currently known The Destiny's Child alum has previously appeared on several singing competition showsKelly Rowland is buzzing about her latest gig. On Monday, June 30, the 'Motivation' singer, 44, shared footage of herself on set as season 14 of The Voice UK's filming is underway. 'New gig, who dis…' she wrote over an Instagram Stories video of her walking past a row of empty coaches' chairs as crew members talked amongst themselves in the background. At the bottom of the clip, she tagged the long-running singing competition series. The Voice UK announced season 14's celebrity coaches at the start of the month in a June 3 social media post. 'Kelly… can you handle this? 😏,' the caption began, making a clever play at Destiny's Child's 2001 hit single, 'Bootylicious.' The post continued, 'Meet the Coaches newest recruit when The Voice UK returns ✌️.' Rowland's photo appeared in the announcement, along with a shot of Tom Jones, and Tom Fletcher & Danny Jones, also known as British pop stars McFly. All appeared in an Instagram Reels post that the Mea Culpa actress posted to her Instagram Stories on Monday. 'Have you heard the news?' was written over the video, which channeled a Mean Girls inspired whisper to the tune of Missy Elliott's 'Pass That Dutch' — the song famously associated with viewers learning all the juicy details about The Plastics. In the video Rowland shared, the McFlys whispered to each other, making surprised faces before sharing the news with a stunned Jones, who then told before he passed the information along to the 'Dilemma' star. The clip ended with her making a funny face before she smiled and walked off. The Voice UK isn't Rowland's first go at lending her expertise to a British singing competition — she also had a hand in putting Little Mix together on The X Factor UK. 'I just remember seeing all the ladies, and I don't know if it's because of my DC days and just feeling what that chemistry would feel like, but I knew what they felt like in my soul, and I felt like I knew what they would look like altogether and I went off my instincts, to be honest,' Rowland said in a November 2022 interview. Rowland has also appeared on The X Factor US, The X Factor UK Interactive, and The Voice AU. Additionally, Rowland will serve as a guest judge on Netflix's upcoming music competition series Building the Band. Contestants will have to come together to be bandmates without ever seeing one another. Backstreet Boys singer AJ McLean will serve as the host while Tony winner and former Pussycat Dolls star Nicole Scherzinger will serve as mentor and judge. The series was filmed before Liam Payne's death in October at the age of 31, and he will appear posthumously as a judge. Prior to Payne's death, Rowland told PEOPLE he was "absolutely hilarious" during their time working on the show. "I didn't know how funny he was, so I'm getting to know him, and he is so cool," she said in August 2024. Building the Band premieres on Netflix on July 9. Read the original article on People

ABC Cancels Beloved Show After One Season and Fans Are Devastated

ABC Cancels Beloved Show After One Season and Fans Are Devastated originally appeared on Parade. Sigh. Well? Another one of my primetime guilty pleasures just went right out the window. Or maybe it sank to the bottom of the sea. ABC has officially canceled after just one season, and this news is such a huge bummer, I really don't even know how to process it. The medical drama, starring Joshua Jackson as the beyond-hot-AF ship's doctor, Max Bankman, and Don Johnson as the Odyssey's captain, Robert Massey, wasn't exactly the most riveting thing on TV, but man, it was such a fun weekly watch. According to Variety, the cast's contracts expire on Monday, and the series will not be coming back to ABC's schedule. So I guess this is it. The last episode, "The Wave" was, well... the LAST episode. Honestly, maybe we should've anticipated this? Let's consider how the finale of season one left things. *SPOILERS AHEAD* While most shows end with some sort of unfinished business or cliffhanger, things kind of came full circle on Doctor Odyssey. Captain Massey was reinstated as the head of the ship. Dr. Max made it safely back on board after being stranded after an earthquake in Mexico triggered a tsunami. Avery (Phillipa Soo) realized she really does love Max and wants to be with him even though she's headed to medical school. And Tristan (Sean Teale) was totally cool with the whole thing and didn't make a stink about her choosing Max over him. So. In essence, that last episode set things up for an impending cancellation. Womp womp. Needless to say, I'm not the only one who's disappointed with the news that I won't be setting sail from my couch this fall. Other fans of the show took to social media to voice their opinions on the show's departure. That tweet sums things up perfectly. Was it a deep, intense show that left you on the edge of your seat and made you ponder your life's choices? No. But was it a fun, light-hearted, no-brainer you could successfully watch while scrolling TikTok at the same time? Yes. Here's another gem I just can't resist sharing. LMAO. Priceless. Another fan boldly declared on X, "I'm genuinely so fu----g devastated. As unhinged as this show was, it gave me so much joy and deserves another season." And someone else said, "I'm so sad! What a bummer. What a fun show that didn't take itself so seriously." I guess there are quite a few of us who will need to find a new guilty pleasure show to watch going forward. Niecy Nash-Betts calls out Colman Domingo for wearing yellow to officiate her wedding: 'You look like a fool!'

Niecy Nash-Betts still hasn't forgiven her pal Colman Domingo for the outfit he wore while officiating her 2020 wedding to wife Jessica Betts. While cohosting Today With Jenna & Friends on Tuesday, the All's Fair actress revealed that she still has a 'grudge' against Domingo for the eye-catching black and yellow ensemble he chose to sport on her big day. 'I married the greatest love of my life in my backyard with 24 people, and guess who my officiant was?' Betts asked Jenna Bush Hager. 'None other than the Colman Domingo.' A snapshot of the couple's backyard ceremony was then featured onscreen with the Oscar-nominated Sing Sing star standing behind them at the altar. 'There's Colman!' She pointed out. 'Now, I have a grudge against him, because I don't know what he's wearing. And I never forgave him for that. I'm like, it's a wedding!' Peep the outfit yourself below, captured by photographer Robert Ector, creator of the art book Details: City Streets Are the Real Runways. Hager requested that the Today team zoom in to the photo so that she could get a proper look at Domingo's outfit, which was comprised of a black and yellow suit, a checkered top, and white sneakers. 'He just looked like a beautiful bumblebee, but I said not for… you're my officiant!' Betts said. 'You don't got black slacks laying around? It just made me so upset.' And she made her displeasure over his look known at the ceremony. 'I said, 'You look like a fool! What do you have on? What are you wearing?'' Betts recalled, slowly dissolving into laughter along the way. 'And now he's a fashion guru! How come that didn't happen before my wedding, you know?' Making a heart with her hands, she continued, 'But I love him. I love you, Colman!' Prior to tying the knot with Jessica, Betts was previously married to Don Nash from 1994 to 2007 and Jay Tucker from 2011 to 2020. She explained on Today that she didn't meet her 'soulmate,' however, until she was was introduced to her now-wife. 'See the first two times I was married, I was married to men and now I'm married to a woman,' Betts explained. 'And I don't think it's about the gender that makes it special. It's just… I met my soulmate, you know what I mean? I met my soulmate. I wasn't living a sexually repressed life where I'm like, 'Oh my God, I really want to be married to a woman!' No. I just met the most beautiful soul.' Entertainment Weekly The Reno 911 star added that she 'never thought' she'd be a member of the LGBTQ+ community. 'I was adjacent. I was an ally, but now I'm a card-carrying member,' Betts declared. 'And here's the problem with it: I didn't get a package. I didn't get a manual. I didn't get a toaster, a gift. My friends — I have friends in the community! I thought there was gonna be a parade outside of my house. I got nothing, guys! Nothing! But now I'm in all the Pride parades.'
