Silambarasan TR's massive physical transformation for the Vetrimaaran directorial
Pinkvilla has exclusively learnt that Silambarasan TR has been prepping well for his next project with Vetrimaaran. Showcasing immense dedication for it, the actor has undergone a massive physical transformation, whereby he's lost about 10 kg of weight, that too within a fixed 10-day window.
The actor will be featured in a younger appearance in the project, and thus this transformation was carried out. Judging by the looks of it, it seems the role assigned to STR would be both powerful and intense.
STR and Vetrimaaran's film teaser to be out soon
That's not all regarding the development in the project. A source closer to the film's crew confirmed that the actor has already completed shooting the teaser for the Vetrimaaran directorial. This teaser is expected to be revealed soon.
Although the makers have not revealed any further details about the project besides the fact that it stars Silambarasan TR in the lead, reports suggest that the movie will be set in the exact raw and gritty cinematic world of Vada Chennai, a peek of which audiences have gotten through the 2018 film.
When Vetrimaaran said Dhanush holds the copyright for Vada Chennai
In a previous video shared by Grass Root Film Company, Vetrimaaran addressed speculations that he'd replaced Dhanush with STR for making Vada Chennai 2.
The director highlighted that these were untrue and that his film with Silambarasan will be set in the world of the 2018 film but is not a sequel.
He mentioned, 'STR49 is set in the world of Vada Chennai, but it's not Vada Chennai 2. As Dhanush is the copyright holder of the Vada Chennai film, I said that I'm filming alongside Silambarasan TR in the Vada Chennai world.'

From March to May, he and his team spent designing, June was for recce, and in July, they began shooting. He further revealed having 12 designers in his team who worked for 12 hours a day, as it was a very vast film. "I think in my career, it's one of those films that has the maximum number of locations," he added. Explaining how they re-created Pakistani lanes, Saini said that they relied on newspaper cuttings, old videos, and news to understand the geography of the particular area of Pakistan. Then they created a 6-acre set in Thailand and a massive one on Madh Island. Why did Saini S Johray zero down on Thailand? Johray explained that they couldn't shoot in Mumbai with the star cast they had. It wasn't possible for them to shoot in a studio, as they wanted a huge 6-acre plot. Moreover, the shooting dates were in July, which meant Mumbai would be facing severe monsoons, hence they couldn't put a set there. So, that is when they arrived in Thailand, and its beautiful landscape was just perfect for them to build a larger-than-life set. Saini worked with 200-300 Thai people for 20 days to create this massive set for Ranveer Singh starrer. He exclaimed, "Thai people don't know how Bhindi Bazaar looks, so I had to make sure that everything looks 100% real and not Thailand at all. If you look at the teaser, you wouldn't even notice it!" Actor Silambarasan TR, popularly known as STR, had a remarkable physical transformation recently. In preparation for his role in director Vetri Maaran's next ambitious project, the actor has reportedly shed 10 kilograms in just 10 days. Silambarasan's dramatic weight loss has created a lot of buzz around the film, which is currently being called STR49. Though official details about the film remain under wraps, the project is already drawing attention for its deep connection to Vetri Maaran's critically acclaimed film Vada Chennai (2018). While many speculated it could be a direct sequel, the director recently clarified the film's position within that universe. In a video shared by the production house, Grass Root Film Company, Vetri Maaran explained, ''STR49′ is set in the world of Vada Chennai, but it's not Vada Chennai 2. Since Dhanush owns the copyright, I told him I was making a film with Silambarasan in the Vada Chennai world. Dhanush didn't ask for a single rupee and willingly agreed to give an NOC." The filmmaker also addressed online speculation about a possible fallout between him and actor Dhanush, calling the rumours baseless. 'I didn't appreciate the way these rumours were circulating. Dhanush would never interfere in my creative process. When I was in financial trouble recently, it was Dhanush who arranged the funds, as an advance from a producer," Vetri Maaran added. Adding further intrigue, sources told India Today that director Nelson Dilipkumar will make a cameo appearance in the film. Actors Kavin and Manikandan are also expected to appear in brief but significant roles. Meanwhile, Vada Chennai cast members Andrea Jeremiah, Samuthirakani, and Kishore will be reprising their characters. Right now, the team has finished shooting a promo, and the main shoot is expected to start in the next few weeks. This film is reportedly set in the same universe as Vetri Maaran's cult classic, Vada Chennai, the gangster drama that starred Dhanush and became a massive hit. Interestingly, Simbu was originally supposed to play the lead in Vada Chennai when it was first announced years ago. However, that plan didn't work out, and the film went ahead with Dhanush instead. Tamil superstar Vijay Sethupathi recently addressed the issue during the pre-release event of his upcoming movie, 'Thalaivan Thalaivi'. Trolling is not new, says Sethupathi As per a Pinkvilla report, while speaking at the event, the 'Vikram' actor opened up about the increasing trend of trolling that tends to surface immediately after or even before a film's release. He said that this kind of response from the internet has become common and cannot be avoided. He also mentioned that criticism, in some form or another, has always existed in cinema, even in the past. "We have no choice but to accept it" "We go out in public. Some people laugh at us. That's their point," Sethupathi said. "You can never say this is how you want to see my movie. I gave them a film. Or we did some work. It's their opinion. We have no choice." Turning negativity into growth The actor added that rather than getting bogged down by negativity, what matters is how artists respond to it. "So when our turn comes, we just need to rectify ourselves from those comments. Let us do something better," he said, encouraging fellow artists to treat trolling as constructive, if possible, and use it as motivation to grow. His grounded and mature approach to trolling comes when it has become an unavoidable distraction with any major film release. On the work front, Vijay Sethupathi is currently busy shooting for a new project helmed by director Puri Jagannadh . The shoot began on July 7 in Hyderabad and will reportedly feature key sequences between him and actress Samyuktha.
