Barbie Hsu's family reportedly needs Wang Xiaofei's wife's permission to visit
Barbie Hsu's children are currently under the care of their father, businessman Wang Xiaofei, and his new wife, Mandy Ma. Photos: Mandy Ma/Instagram, Lin Huei-chin/Instagram Since the sudden passing of Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu in February this year, her two young children have been living with their father, businessman Wang Xiaofei, and his new wife, Mandy Ma. However, Ma's role as stepmother has sparked controversy – with many feeling she's overstepping her bounds. According to a Sin Chew report citing Taiwanese media, members of Hsu's family now have to get Ma's permission before they can visit the children. During a livestream, Ma explained that although the children are attending school in Taiwan and have formed their own social circles, they still need time to adjust to their new home life. As a result, even close relatives on Hsu's side reportedly face difficulties seeing them, due to what many view as Ma's strict gatekeeping. The report also noted that the children were previously photographed visiting the home of Taiwanese TV host Blackie Chen. However, Ma has allegedly banned any future visits, claiming the environment is not suitable for the children. This move may be linked to past controversy surrounding Chen, who was accused of sexual harassment in 2023 by a former artiste from his agency. Chen has denied the allegations and subsequently sued the actress for defamation. Hsu, also known by her stage name 'Big S', died at the age of 48 on Feb 2 after she came down with influenza-related pneumonia while on vacation with her family in Japan. She was later cremated in Japan.

Matty Healy mocks ex Taylor Swift during The 1975's Glastonbury set
Matty Healy dated Taylor Swift for only a matter of weeks, on the heels of her split from Joe Alwyn. Photos: TNS, Taylor Swift/Instagram Matty Healy seemingly mocked his ex Taylor Swift during The 1975's set at the Glastonbury Festival on Friday. While delivering some of his signature banter from the stage, the crooner sarcastically dubbed himself a 'poet' in an apparent nod to the pop star's Tortured Poets Department album, much of which Healy is believed to have inspired. 'I want to be sincere for a second. What this moment is making me realise is that I probably am the best,' the frontman said with a smirk, according to footage published by Variety . 'I'm probably the best songwriter of my generation, the best… what do we say, poet, ladies and gentleman, is what I am. Generational wordsmith.' His acerbic comments came just before the band launched into a performance of their 2013 song Chocolate , which may have been a deliberate choice given a particular verse on Swift's album. 'You smoked, then ate seven bars of chocolate,' the Grammy winner sings on the title track. But Healy's remarks weren't the only thing making Swifties raise their eyebrows. Fans also noted his jacket featured a pin of Peter Pan — a character he's previously used to describe himself and one that Swift references on her song Peter . Fans have concluded that multiple songs on Swift's 11th studio album allude to her brief courtship with Healy in the spring of 2023 and their years-long friendship before that. Along with the titular Tortured Poets Department, those tracks include But Daddy I Love Him, Guilty as Sin?, I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can), and the scathing song The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived , which paints a portrait of a man whose actions didn't 'measure up' to the persona he initially presented. In October, Healy seemingly took another dig at Swift's lyrics when discussing where he finds inspiration for his own music. 'I would kind of just be lying if I made a record about, I don't know, all the stuff that was said about me or my casual romantic liaisons or whatever it may be that I've become known for,' Healy said on an episode of the Doomscroll podcast. 'I think that a lot of artistes become very interested in their lore … I think that's an obvious thing to draw from. I'm just not interested in it.' Healy, who's currently engaged to model-singer Gabbriette, dated Swift for only a matter of weeks, on the heels of her split from Joe Alwyn and just before she started dating Travis Kelce in July 2023. However, The Tortured Poets Department and its many references that have been linked to Healy have prompted speculation about the depth of the artistes' relationship and just how far back the romantic undertones go. – New York Daily News/Tribune News Service

HK Actress Anita Lee Shows Love For Malaysian-Style Curry During Recent Trip To Malaysia
Our local cuisine continues to warm the hearts and stomachs of international celebrities. Recently, during a flight to Malaysia, Hong Kong-Canadian actress Anita Lee Yuen Wah (李婉華) had one Malaysian dish that she couldn't help but praise. The actress recently revealed that she's currently visiting Malaysia for her annual 'durian tour'. According to reports, Anita has been organising 'durian tours' the past couple of years, where she brings a group of friends to Malaysia to enjoy durian during its peak season, usually from June to August. Yesterday (3rd June 2025, Thursday), Anita shared the meal she had on her Malaysia-bound flight, which appeared to be Malaysian chicken curry with white rice. Despite being a simple in-flight meal, the 57-year-old had quite the praise for the dish, saying, 'The meal on the way to Malaysia was so delicious, with Malaysian chicken curry. It's a little spicy, very authentic and delicious!' Anita also revealed that she cleared her curry, adding, 'It's a great start to my trip to Malaysia! Thumbs up!'. In the comments, local fans welcomed the actress to the country, wishing her an enjoyable trip. However, some netizens were shocked to learn that the actress enjoyed the spicy curry. While it may be surprising, this isn't the actress' first encounter with Malaysian food. In fact, Anita is a big fan of our local cuisine, especially curries. Besides frequently travelling to Malaysia for her 'durian tours', the radio host previously promoted the Malaysian spice brand MasFood. She also featured the brand's instant spice paste on her YouTube channel. Just last month, the actress shared a photo of her Malaysian curry, which she made with a MasFood instant curry paste. In her captions, Anita spoke fondly of the dish, writing, 'This Malaysian curry chicken is unbeatable and the sauce is really delicious.' She also shared a recommended method of cooking the dish before adding, 'It tastes like going to Malaysia to eat curry! Not too spicy, just right!' It looks like Anita really loves her Malaysian curry. While she hasn't shared what she has planned for her trip, we hope the actress has her fill of curry and durian while she's in town.
