Hajiji meets Anwar to discuss various matters
Published on: Tue, Jul 15, 2025 Text Size: Kota Kinabalu: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim held a meeting with Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor at his office in Putrajaya, Monday. During the meeting, they discussed, among other things, current issues and developments in Sabah.
Advertisement Hajiji also presented the 2024 Sabah Maju Jaya Direction Annual Report to the Prime Minister, which details the achievements of the development initiatives under the Sabah Maju Jaya roadmap from 2021 to the present. Earlier, Hajiji attended the 146th Meeting of Menteri Besar and Chief Ministers at the Perdana Meeting Room, Prime Minister's Office, Perdana Putra Building. He was accompanied by State Secretary Datuk Seri Safar Untong. During the meeting, Safar delivered a briefing on the Blue Economy. On Wednesday and Thursday, Hajiji is scheduled to accompany Sabah Yang di-Pertua Negeri, Tun Musa Aman, to attend the 269th Meeting of the Conference of Rulers at Istana Negara. Meanwhile, Anwar also held a meeting with Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Opening. Kelantan Ulama expresses support for Anwar's leadership
Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim PUTRAJAYA (July 20): Deputy chairman of Jabhah Pondok Kelantan Syeikh Wazir Che Awang Al-Makki Hafizahullah has expressed full support for the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and called for the continuation of the Anwar-led MADANI government. He said the religious scholars would continue to support the Prime Minister and were ready to assist in overcoming any challenges during his administration. 'We fully support the leadership of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. God willing, we stand behind him. 'All the obstacles and challenges in this country can be overcome. Malaysia can be saved, and the government under Datuk Seri's leadership can be preserved,' he said when speaking at the 'Malaysia Bermunajat 2025' programme at Putra Mosque here last night. The programme, attended by Anwar and thousands of congregants, aimed to enliven the culture of 'munajat' (supplication) and appreciation of knowledge as the foundation for uniting the ummah and building a society grounded in Malaysian MADANI values. Meanwhile, Syeikh Wazir said frequent changes in government within short periods were not encouraged in Islam, and suggested that a good administration be maintained for up to 10 years so that the people could benefit from it. 'In Malaysia, we see governments changing every five years, two years, or even after one year, resulting in shifting policies, the decline of religious schools, and a decline in all areas, (including) the economy. This is not the Islamic way,' he said. Former assemblyman questions opposition's rush to oust Anwar before GE16
FORMER Meru assemblyman Ustaz Mohd Fakhrulrazi Mohd Mokhtar has questioned the opposition's rush to topple Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim through the 'Turun Anwar' campaign and upcoming July 26 rally, suggesting their urgency may be tied to the looming court cases involving several opposition leaders on corruption charges. 'The question that should be asked of those so eager to topple Anwar before the General Election is: why the rush? 'Can they not wait for the democratic process through the GE? Or is it because some are becoming anxious and restless as enforcement agencies begin to uphold the law without fear or favour? 'It is no secret that Anwar's administration has started tracking down corruption and abuse of power that have harmed the nation. Major corruption cases are being reopened. 'The legal process is being allowed to operate freely. Is this what is causing unease among some political players and old elites? They know that if given time, these legal reforms will reach the old networks that have long been untouchable,' he said in a statement. He argued that with only two years left before the 16th General Election, the democratic process should be respected. He also criticised the opposition's attacks on Anwar as baseless, built on manipulated public perceptions rather than evidence, citing labels like 'traitor' and 'pro-Zionist' as irresponsible political tactics.
