OnePlus Ace 5 lineup gets two new members
These new smartphones are entirely different in specs and design, but keep the overall tone of the lineup - flagship performance at sub-flagship prices. OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra
The name Ultra is literally translated as "Supreme," and is technically the most powerful Mediatek-equipped OnePlus smartphone – it comes with Dimensity 9400+. Here, we have a 6.83" OLED display with 120 Hz refresh rate and a resolution slightly greater than Full HD+.
The chipset is coupled with 12 GB or 16 GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256 GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB UFS 4.0 storage. They are split into five different memory combinations to cover a wide price spectrum.
The OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra has a modest camera setup: a 50 MP main shooter with an f/1.8 lens, AF and OIS, coupled with an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle shooter with a 112-degree FoV. The front camera is a basic 16 MP shooter sitting behind a punch hole.
The phone comes with a dedicated side button that can be programmed to act as a shortcut to a predetermined set of apps — alarm, torch, Night Mode, translator or AI.
OnePlus equipped the Ultra with a G1 connectivity chip that improves Wi-Fi speed and reliability by 33%, compared with competitors. It also has multi-layered cooling architecture with a 7,300 sq.mm vapor chamber.
The battery of the OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra has 6,700 mAh capacity. It comes with 100W wired charging support and also offers bypass charging. Just 10 minutes on the charger should offer 3 hours of gaming, while 39 minutes should fill the battery from 0 to 100%.
OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra
OnePlus comes in China with Oppo's ColorOS 15 and the in-house AI assistant, which is available only in the domestic market. Its colors are Blue, Black and Titanium Silver (with a cool striped design on the back), and the starting price is CNY2,499 (12/256 GB). The most expensive version is 16 GB RAM + 1 TB storage and costs CNY 3,799. OnePlus Ace 5 Racing
OnePlus Ace 5 Racing comes with a Dimensity 9400e chipset. It has the same RAM and storage options as the Ultra, sans the 1 TB variant.
The cameras on the back are downgraded to 50 MP main and 2 MP B&W sensor. The selfie camera retains its 16 MP sensor.
Ace 5 Racing is built around a 6.77" AMOLED panel with Full HD+ resolution and up to 120 Hz refresh rate.
OnePlus decided not to go with the dedicated G1 connectivity chip but at least brought a sophisticated cooling solution (although not as good as the one on the Ultra), including a 7,000 sq mm vapor chamber.
The Ace 5 Racing excels over the Ultra with battery capacity – it brings the biggest cell in a OnePlus smartphone – 7,100 mAh. It charges at "only" 80W and it comes with bypass charging.
This phone runs with ColorOS 15 and some AI features, like 4K upscaling in videos and erasing objects in photos.
OnePlus Ace 5 Racing
OnePlus Ace 5 Racing is available in White, Black, and Mint Green. Starting price is CNY1,799 for 12/256 GB.
We don't expect this phone to launch outside China, but we would love to be surprised by OnePlus and Oppo.

The new report comes via UniverseIce, who holds a solid track record with Samsung devices and we also get a render of the device. Ice believes that the S26 Ultra is getting thinner and will now measure below 8mm. For reference, the S25 Ultra is 8.2mm thick. Speaking of cameras, UniverseIce believes the S26 Ultra is getting an updated 200MP main sensor with a larger aperture alongside a new 3x telephoto lens and a wider aperture on the 5x periscope module. Samsung is also expected to bring a new 6.9-inch AMOLED display featuring a Color-on-Emitter (CoE) depolarizer layer. This should offer improved color accuracy and brightness output while also drawing less power. CoE OLED panels integrate the color filter directly into the light-emitting layer. The new leak also suggests the S26 Ultra is getting an updated third-generation anti-reflective glass treatment. Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra The other big upgrade? Faster wired charging. The new report suggests 60W speeds which will be a modest yet welcome update over the 45W capabilities of the S24 Ultra and its predecessors. One of main causes of damaged to the screen comes from the inside when heat damages the board or wires. The exposed wire rubs against the back of the screen and you get a black screen. To answer your question, I'm currently using 3 phones like a maniac haha. I kept my s23 Ultra to use solely for gaming, as that takes a toll on the battery. I got the Fold 5 by mistake actually, my wife wanted to go from the iPhone 13 pro max to the 15 pro max but then reconsidered, as it was no noticeable upgrade for her. But it was too late, the phone was already ordered so we either had to accept the iPhone or choose another phone, and I chose the Fold5 for me. I was skeptical, as foldables for me seemed too fragile, but I also wanted to try one out really badly. And it worked out perfectly. The issue with Samsung (and Apple) are the atrocious cameras, so I bought a Xiaomi 14 Ultra last year, to use as a travel phone, got it at 600€ only. Great phone but crappy software and the battery doesn't last even as much as the Fold. Now I traded in the 5 to get the 7, because the issues I had with the Fold5 were all fixed for me in the 7, i.e. the thickness and cover screen. The battery lasts me all day, sometimes even 1.5 days, charges in an hour, is just great. Is it overpriced? Absolutely. But that comes down to personal choice. If Honor or Vivo would have the same software and customer support as Samsung, then I would gladly switch to them as they have better hardware, but as of now, people need to look at the complete package. For me, personally, the software experience is more important than 1-2 hours of extra battery or a better telephoto camera. But that's just me.
