Speaking earlier this month, Onana appeared to hint that he was also open to an exit. He said: "Will I leave? I don't know, we'll see!" While Onana's future remains up in the air, United have already launched their search for a new number one. Aston Villa 's Emi Martinez remains their number one target but a deal for the 2022 World Cup winner is expected to be expensive. Other options include Botafogo's John Victor, Porto star Diogo Costa and Cruz Azul number one Kevin Mier. Former United stopper Ben Foster believes that Martinez would be the outstanding candidate should Onana be moved on. He said: 'It's a brutal league, the Premier League, and I kind of think [over] the last two seasons that he [Onana] hasn't done enough to prove that he is a Manchester United number one. 'I think he's got ability, and like so many other Man United players, he'd go elsewhere and probably flourish. I think that's probably going to be the case with him as well. If the opportunity does come to sign somebody like Emi Martinez, they've got to go for it. He's still one of the best goalkeepers in the world. 'A lot of people said this season, probably not up to the standard of the previous two years, but still one of the best goalkeepers in the world. 'You've got to have a strong spine in any football team. If you get the goalie right, you get a couple of strikers in, Bruno's going to be staying now. Jurgen Klopp has weighed in on Florian Wirtz 's 'insane' £116million move to Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen. The midfielder finally joined the Reds for a British record transfer fee earlier this month after a lengthy pursuit - which saw multiple bids rejected by Leverkusen - was drawn out for several weeks. But Klopp has cautioned Wirtz that if he doesn't start strongly, it will take only 'two or three games' for the pressure of his hefty transfer fee to start weighing on him. 'There's no question about it, it's an insane sum, and one that a player at Liverpool is aware of if things don't go well for two or three games,' the German veteran told Welt. 'We all agree that we're talking about a great player here. I know I once said that I'm out if we pay 100 million euros for a player. But the world is changing. That's just the way the market is. 'He's an outstanding player who can give any club something great. Whether he'll make the reigning English champions even better remains to be seen.' William Gallas has accused Mikel Arteta and Arsenal of making a potentially costly transfer mistake. The Premier League runners-up have been one of the more subdued clubs during the summer transfer window and are yet to make any signings. Arsenal are, however, set to welcome three new players to the Emirates Stadium in Martin Zubimendi, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Christian Norgaard. In terms of outgoings, Jorginho and Kieran Tierney have left on free transfers and Raheem Sterling has returned to Chelsea following his dismal loan spell. Thomas Partey also looks set to leave the club and Gallas believes it would be a mistake for Arsenal not to keep him at the Emirates Stadium. 'I think with his quality, he could stay at Arsenal,' Gallas told Genting Casino. 'With what he has offered to the club over the last few years, he can easily stay. 'And with their depth right now, I think it is best to add, not replace. I'm not sure of the reasons why he might leave, but I'm not sure it would be the best thing if he left.' The signings of Zubimendi and Norgaard will compensate for Jorginho and Partey's departures from Arsenal. After signing those two midfielders and Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa, Arteta will prioritise a deal for a new striker, with Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko high on his wishlist. 'Arsenal have been looking for a striker for, I don't know exactly how long, but a top class striker should have arrived at Arsenal two or three years ago,' Gallas added. 'They didn't sign one. They obviously didn't think it was that important to add a top class striker. 'And I think that, when you look at their season, unfortunately, they didn't want the Premier League badly enough on a couple of occasions where they came close – last season, and also two years ago. 'They didn't want it enough to go and add that last missing piece of the puzzle. So now they are being linked with strikers again, just like they were in January. 'I hope they do get one of the strikers they want, because I hope they want the same thing every fan wants, which is to win the Premier League next season. 'And I think the only player who fits that description right now is Alexander Isak.
