In Ghaziabad's Vijay Nagar, police detained two men following complaints about unsanitary conditions at a Jal Nigam juice shop. Locals alerted authorities to the alleged hygiene violations. Loni MLA Nandkishore Gurjar reported receiving a tip about staff contaminating juice and misrepresenting their identities.
GHAZIABAD: Two men were taken into custody in the Vijay Nagar area on Friday after complaints of hygiene violations at a juice shop in the Jal Nigam locality, police said.
According to ACP Kotwali Nagar Ritesh Tripathi, a group of locals alerted the police about alleged unhygienic practices at the establishment.
"We have taken two men into custody. Further legal action will follow based on the investigation and facts," the officer said.
The next day, Loni MLA Nandkishore Gurjar told the media that he received a call around 11pm alleging that staff at Bharat Juice Corner were contaminating juice by 'mixing spit into it'.
He also alleged that the two men initially identified themselves as Aman and Sunil, but were allegedly misrepresenting their identities.
"They had 'Kalava' tied on their wrists, which raised suspicion," Gurjar said, claiming that the practice is not customary in Islam, and suggested that they were trying to conceal their identity.
The MLA further stated that although the men were detained initially, they were later released.
MLA Gurjar said he had requested the area DCP to look into the matter and would raise the issue with the chief minister's office, calling it a violation of existing directives of the state.

Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar Mishra said, "Complainant Sunil Verma of Mahuawa Buzurg submitted an application saying that his daughter was taken from Amritsar and hidden after being converted by some individuals. This was an organised gang, and eight people have been arrested so far. Ashiq Ansari, Imtiyaz, Mohammad Sahab, among others, gave her a new name after conversion and kept her hidden. Further investigation is ongoing."The arrested individuals have been identified as Taufiq Ansari, Ashiq Ansari and his son Imtiyaz, Mohammad Sahab Ansari, Zeeshan Qamar, Mazhar, and two women, Kaiser Jahan and Fatima. According to the police, the accused confessed to being part of a well-organised network that targeted Hindu women for religious claimed the gang pursued the victim over a long period, manipulating her through emotional exploitation and inducements, and ultimately coerced her into conversion. They also said Taufiq Ansari used explicit videos and recorded conversations to blackmail the victim's Jahan and Fatima allegedly played a key role in psychologically manipulating the girl, showing her religious content to influence her FIR has been registered under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Religious Conversion Act, 2021. Bijnor: Five people were arrested for allegedly raping and forcibly trying to convert a 27-year-old woman in Bijnor district, police said on Sunday. The woman also alleged that "the accused were planning to sell her kidney for Rs 50 lakh. Her husband abandoned her about a year ago as he did not like her working till late in the evening, and this led to frequent quarrels between them. Taking advantage of her vulnerable situation, the shop owner offered to arrange accommodation for her at his own expense, and later exploited her sexually. Between Feb and March this year, he and his associates allegedly put pressure on her to embrace Islam. In her police complaint, the survivor said that on Feb 25, the shop owner, accompanied by his wife, brother-in-law and a few others, arrived at her residence and administered some kind of intoxicants and forcibly tried to convert her. The survivor said the main accused also took her to various hospitals in Rishikesh and Delhi, where he contacted some agents and planned to sell her kidney for Rs 50 lakh. When she resisted, she and her five-year-old son was held hostage at a house from Feb through March. She somehow managed to escape from the house in April and remained silent, as the perpetrators threatened to kill her son. On Saturday, the woman gathered the courage to approach police, following which an FIR was filed. Bijnor SP (city) Sanjeev Vajpayee said, "We have registered a case against nine people under BNS sections 64 (rape), 61(2) (criminal conspiracy), 109(1) (abetment), 115(2) (kidnapping/attempt to murder), 253 (harbouring offender), and 3(5) (related to grievous offences), as well as sections 3(1) and 5(1) of Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act." "Charges related to illegal organ trade have also been added. Five of the accused, including the main conspirator, have been arrested. Efforts are on to nab the remaining four. A detailed investigation is underway," the SP said.

They reportedly ran several WhatsApp and online groups from Pakistan. These groups shared and discussed religious said that girls who converted from Hinduism to Islam were connected with Pakistan-based individuals who provided religious instruction and guidance. Some Kashmiri girls also played a role by linking others to Pakistan-based groups and promoting of the key accused, Rahman Qureshi, managed financial transactions within the network. He was questioned by Agra police and central found that the network operated under the name 'DAWAH' and aimed to spread Islam in India by 2050. The group targeted individuals facing emotional distress or family to police, DAWAH activities included forming connections with Hindu girls through online games. The group communicated using encrypted platforms such as Signal and the dark web to maintain also approached people in crowded public places like hospitals, courts and police stations, as well as workers in unorganised sectors, offering solutions to personal group referred to converted individuals as 'Revert' and maintained active groups on various social media identified Abdul Rahman from Delhi and Ayesha from Goa as leaders of the group. Abdul Rahman, who converted in 1990, reportedly had links with a jailed ATS suspect. All arrested individuals were found to be connected with Rahman and from Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana were reportedly targeted by the group and later rescued. According to police, the girls were involved in online discussions that criticised Hinduism and promoted Islamic investigation is ongoing, with central agencies expected to continue the probe into cross-border links, funding sources, and digital operations used by the network.- EndsMust Watch
