‘Stupid': Kmart prank goes horribly wrong
The prankster teen filmed himself approaching an older man with dreadlocks in the underwear section of the store before asking him for the time on his phone.
When the man pulls out his phone to check the time, the teen reaches over and pretends to tap the man's phone while playing a recording of the distinct Apple Pay sound.
Apple Pay is a mobile payment service that allows users to make purchases by hovering their Apple device over a payment terminal.
It is not possible to take someone's funds by simply tapping one phone against another.
Despite this, the confused man quickly becomes fired up, demanding to know what had happened.
'What are you doing there,' he says angrily as he charges towards the teen.
'I'm sorry, I'm sorry,' says the prankster as he panics and tries to back away.
'Nah, give me that phone right now,' he demands.
'Can we just talk,' says the person behind the camera, trying to diffuse the situation.
The dreadlocked man demands the phone as he continues trying to snatch it away from the teen.
'Chill, chill, you're going to break my phone,' the prankster can be heard saying.
'What the f**k did you do to my phone,' the older man continues, eventually snatching the teen's phone out of his hands.
The clip, which has been viewed over 900,000 times, then abruptly cuts off before any resolution is made.
The prank, coined the 'Apple Pay' prank, has been circulating TikTok over the last few days. The goal is to elicite some kind of extreme reponse from the target for the sake of a viral video.
Viewers were quick to label the prank as 'dangerous and embarrassing.'
'This is a dangerous thing to do in Australia,' said one person.
'Prank your mates, not strangers who are just trying to live their lives in peace,' criticised another.
'Serves you right to be honest, these pranks go way too far,' said a third.
In a separate clip posted just over a week earlier, the teen prankster can be seen approaching another man in Woolworths and once again pretends to tap his phone.
'I just took $20, thank you,' he tells the confused shopper.
'Are you serious?,' he asks the prankster.
'Yeah but I just needed it. I need to go to the pokies,' he replies.
The shopper can be seen walking towards the teen as he stares him up and down while the prankster says 'I'm sorry' repeatedly.
'Why are you pressing me,' he asks the man as he continues to back away from the aisle.
Suddenly, the scared teen begins to run as he dodges Woolworths shoppers with the man in close pursuit.
He laughs as he reaches a dead end where the man catches up to him before the clip abruptly ends.
The video received mixed response, with one person commenting: 'Stupid prank, you're risking meeting someone who doesn't give a f*ck and smack you on sight (sic).'
Another weighed in, posting: 'ngl if I thought someone stole something from me, I'd be the same.'
In a similar prank posted to the teen's TikTok, called 'moaning in ears', he approaches strangers in various stores, including Bunnings, and makes a moaning sound in people's ears, filming their confused reactions.

Two killed after light crashes into paddock, catches alight near Toowoomba, Queensland
Two men have been killed after a light plane crashed into a paddock before catching on fire in Queensland's Toowoomba region. Early investigations indicate the aircraft crashed near Oakey Cooyar Rd at Devon Park, about two hours from Brisbane, shortly after 3pm on Sunday. A Queensland Fire Department spokesperson said four crews rushed to the scene just before 3.20pm and extinguished a blaze from the plane, which had caught fire. Queensland Police said the two male occupants were declared deceased at the scene and that Forensic Crash Unit were investigating the circumstances around the incident. They will assist investigators from the Australian Transport Safety Bureau who confirmed on Sunday afternoon they would investigating the crash. The ATSB identified the aircraft as a twin turboprop Reims Cessna F406, and that officers were being deployed from Brisbane and Canberra. The investigators, who specialise in aircraft operations and maintenance, will conduct a range of 'evidence-gathering activities', including site and wreckage examination. 'Investigators will also seek to interview involved parties, and collect relevant recorded information including flight tracking data,' the ATSB said in a statement. 'As well as pilot and aircraft maintenance records, and weather information.' Anyone with footage of the aircraft at 'any phase of the flight' or following the crash were urged to contact the ATSB. A report will also be prepared for the information of the coroner.

Investigation launched into man's death after Traralgon arrest
A man has died after being arrested by police in Traralgon, south-east of Melbourne overnight. Police were called to an address in Moore Street just before 1am, where a 41-year-old man was reported to be behaving erratically outside his home. But when they arrested the man, he became unresponsive. Emergency services attempted to revive him, but he died at the scene. The ABC spoke to neighbours of the man who said he was known for his erratic behaviour. Local man Gino Tripodi told the ABC his heart was racing when he got home in the early hours of Sunday morning and saw the incident unfolding. "The old challenge of trying to get into your street to go home was a bit daunting," Mr Tripodi said. "I had to be okayed to walk home, so I didn't know where I was going to sleep if I couldn't walk through." Mr Tripodi said he had been on the road all day for work and most people were out partying when the incident took place. "Not knowing what exactly happened in the street, it just unfolded as I was talking to police at the end of the street," he said. "I feel for the guy and his family, condolences to them." Detectives from the Homicide Squad were investigating but the exact circumstances surrounding the death remained unclear. As with any death in police custody, the investigation will be overseen by the Victoria Police Professional Standards Command. Mr Tripodi said he couldn't praise the emergency services enough for what they did. "Considering you had police, the fire brigade and ambulance and all the teamwork together.. it was amazing how they combined together, they did everything they could," he said.

A child has died after being struck by a tree in the Northern Territory. The Territory's Police force says the seven year old girl was playing in the yard of a house in Tiwi before being struck by a falling palm tree. They say an 11-year-old boy was also hit by the tree, but sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Tasmanian Labor leader Dean Winter says he's begun discussions about possible powersharing arrangements, after Saturday's election. Neither major party has won enough seats in the lower house to rule as a majority government, but the Liberal Party has so far secured 14 to the ALP's nine. Liberal Premier Jeremy Rockliff says he will be asking the governor to recommission his government on the basis that there's been a roughly three per cent swing to the Liberals. But Mr Winter has refused to officially concede, saying he is keeping his options open. "At this stage, we've had - we've opened the line of discussion with the crossbench. And we will make sure that they understand where we stand... Look, in order for Labor to form government we would need to supply and confidence from members of the crossbench." A man is being charged with assault after a car ramming incident outside a nightclub in Los Angeles that's injured around 30 people - including the driver himself. At least three people are understood to be in a critical condition after the 29 year old suspect allegedly drove his car onto the footpath outside the Vermont Hollywood Club on Santa Monica Avenue, just eight minutes after he had been thrown out of the venue. Los Angeles police say members of the crowd quickly attacked the man after the incident - which investigators already believe was intentional. Captain Adam van Gerpen of the Los Angeles Fire Department says that the driver was also shot by a bystander. "As part of our triage when the paramedics were loading up one of the patients that was considered immediate, on their secondary inspection of him, they did find that there was a gunshot wound." Three more bodies have been found after a tourist boat capsized in northern Vietnam's famous Halong Bay, raising the death toll to at least 38. The Department of National Defence Search and Rescue says the trio were crew members. The boat, carrying 48 tourists and five crew members, capsized as Storm Wipha approached the country across the South China Sea. Storm Wipha is the third typhoon to hit the region this year, and is projected to make landfall along Vietnam's northern coast early next week. Authorities say contact tracing is underway for hospital staff who may have been exposed to a man admitted with a rare strain of mpox. The patient was diagnosed with the Clade 1 mpox variant after he presented to Logan Hospital, south of Brisbane following his return from a trip to Africa. Queensland Health Minister Tim Nicholls says the patient was not contagious during his journey to Australia. But he says officials believe a limited number in the community and hospital may have been exposed. "Those close contacts that he has been in contact - including at the emergency ward and in other locations - are being contact traced right now and identified. Right now we think there are 19 community contacts and 40 hospital contacts that have been in contact with the patient." The Ineos-Grenadiers team has been fined after one of its team cars hit a spectator on stage 14 of the Tour de France. The penalty of just under $10,000 against the team's sports director Oliver Cookson has also come with a yellow card, which can result in a suspension if they're accumulated over a defined period of time. TV footage shows the team car knocking down the fan, who was holding what looked like a mobile phone, close to the top of the Col de Peyresourde, as it followed riders on the steep ascent. It's not known what the current condition of the spectator is. Australian welterweight boxer Tim Tszyu has lost his much-hyped rematch to American Sebastian Fundora in Las Vegas.
