Why Jon Hamm thinks 'Superman' can be kind of boring?
"I think people can relate to characters making bad decisions, because we've all made them," Hamm told The Hollywood Reporter, noting that he leans toward playing the bad guy in film and TV projects.
"My history of characters isn't exactly the saints; it's more on the sinner side of the equation," he continued. "But Superman can be kind of boring. No offense to the new Superman [David Corenswet], who I hope is a delightful person."
While the Mad Men actor has had turns playing all types of roles throughout his career, some of his most notable performances were as the villain, including Sheriff Roy Tillman in Fargo season five, Buddy in 2017's Baby Driver and tech billionaire Paul Marks in The Morning Show.
Hamm previously said his iconic Mad Men character Don Draper was actually more of a villain. "Jimmy Gandolfini, whom I knew a little bit, had a similar relationship to Tony Soprano, and Bryan Cranston had it with Walter White."
"The character got celebrated for the wrong reasons," the actor explained. "People thought that Don was this paragon of masculinity or whatever. There were so many think-pieces, and you go, 'Wait, he was pretty f****d up.' And I was very happy with how Matt ended the story, but it was also hard," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

She criticised the entertainment world's treatment of older actors, particularly women. "I witnessed my parents lose the very thing that gave them their fame and their life and their livelihood, when the industry rejected them at a certain age," she said, adding, "I watched them reach incredible success and then have it slowly erode to where it was gone. And that's very painful." Curtis continued, "I have been self-retiring for 30 years. I have been prepping to get out, so that I don't have to suffer the same as my family did. I want to leave the party before I'm no longer invited." Curtis wore huge plastic lips in the story's accompanying photoshoot to criticise the rise of cosmetic surgery in recent years, as well as the pressure women face to change themselves. 'Predator: Badlands' fuels a perspective at Comic-Con
The latest movie in the Predator series flips the script to focus on the bad guys who always lose to the humans in the end, director Dan Trachtenberg said. "The predator never wins," Trachtenberg told an audience at San Diego Comic-Con after footage of Predator: Badlands debuted at the convention's Disney panel. This, the Prey director said, inspired him to tell the story from the predator species perspective in Badlands, the seventh in the main movie series, dating back to the 1987 hit starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, and the ninth across the franchise. It was key, Trachtenberg said, for him to explore a different aspect of the Predator world for this science fiction movie, developed by 20th Century Studios and landing in theatres on November 7. "There are no humans in this film," said cast member Elle Fanning, discussing the challenges of learning the logistics of a completely fictional realm. The biggest challenge was mastering the fictional Yautja language, said Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi, who stars as Dek, a young predator on a solo mission in a treacherous land of even bigger predators. He bonds with an android named Thia, played by Fanning. Dek is "ferocious and badass, very much an anti-hero," Trachtenberg said. Before the panel discussion with the director and several cast members, the audience got a glimpse of a Yautja-speaking predator prowling the stage with the signature glowing weaponry as stirring music played.
