
Weather: Thunderstorms expected in parts of Oman
Muscat: Thunderstorms of varying intensity ranging between 10-25 mm are expected over parts of the Sultanate of Oman on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, said Oman Meteorology.
According to Oman Meteorology, there are chances of cumulus cloud activity and occasional thunderstorms on the Al Hajar Mountains and the surrounding areas of South Al Sharqiyah , North Al Sharqiyah, Muscat and Al Dakhiliyah Governorates during the afternoon and evening.
Thunderstorms may be accompanied by active winds ranging between 20-45, causing valleys and ravines to flow, hail , and poor visibility.

Muscat: The al Hajar Mountains are expected to witness above-average rainfall in the next period, according to seasonal forecasts issued by Oman Meteorology. Speaking on the sidelines of a media briefing hosted by the Civil Aviation Authority, Abdullah al Khadhuri, Director General of Oman Meteorology, said that the Al Hajar range and surrounding areas are likely to receive higher-than-usual rainfall in July and August. Temperatures soar to 48°C in Oman; health warnings issued
Muscat: Nizwa and Adam stations in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate has recorded the highest temperature in the Sultanate of Oman which 48 degrees Celsius. According to Oman Meteorology, Nizwa and Adam stations recorded a temperature rise of 48 degrees Celsius, followed by Al Qabil and Mahout stations, with temperatures reaching 47 degrees Celsius. Due to the high temperatures today, please avoid direct sunlight, especially during the afternoon, to prevent heat stroke. Heatstroke, heat exhaustion, and other symptoms associated with high temperatures are common, especially since many jobs and field activities require workers to be exposed to sunlight and high temperatures. To reduce and prevent heatstroke, it is recommended to: -Regulate and specify working hours so that there are breaks during peak temperatures. -Avoid exposure to direct sunlight, especially during the afternoon. -Drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration.

Heavy rains fall in Al Dhahirah Governorate
Ibri: Several wilayats in A'Dhahirah Governorate witnessed heavy rainfall today. The town of Al Wuqbah in the wilayat of Yanqul experienced moderately heavy rains, leading to the flow of valleys and the fall of hailstones. Rains were also reported in the villages of Hali and Wadi Al Harem in the same wilayat. Similarly, the towns of Al Hajir and Al Shuhum in the wilayat of Ibri witnessed heavy rainfall, causing several valleys to flow.
