Dog the Bounty Hunter's stepson on psychiatric hold after accidentally killing teen son
Dog the Bounty Hunter's stepson, Gregory Zecca, has been put on psychiatric hold after he accidentally shot and killed his 13-year-old son, Anthony, at their home in Naples, Florida. Anthony tragically died after he was shot in the neck on Saturday, with Gregory heavily grieving his death.
A spokesperson for the family said he was put under what's known as a 5150 hold, which is when an adult person is detained for 72 hours if they pose a risk to themselves or others. A 5150 hold aims to provide immediate assessment and potentially life-saving intervention for individuals experiencing acute mental health crisis, according to Clear Behavioural Health.
The family representative told TMZ there are concerns for his welfare following the accidental shooting and killing of his son, with them adding his is getting health due to being stricken by grief.
He is still not able to speak to his family or the police as he is heavily sedated.
The bullet pierced Anthony Zecca's neck, above his sternum, but no exit wound was located on the teen, according to a police report seen today.
When officers arrived at the apartment in Naples, Florida, following the tragic accident, Anthony had already lost "large amounts of blood."
The teenager had accidentally been shot, his heartbroken family said in a statement. Dog the Bounty Hunter and his partner Francie called the tragedy a "incomprehensible tragic accident" in the emotional statement yesterday.
"We are grieving as a family over this incomprehensible, tragic accident and would ask for continued prayers as we grieve the loss of our beloved grandson, Anthony," they said.
Police soon confirmed first responders gave the teen CPR but were unable to save Anthony. The gun that was used in the shooting was located in the apartment on the kitchen island, the Collier County Sheriff's Office added in the report.
Dog, 72, and his wife, Francie, tied the knot in 2021 following the deaths of each other's partners. The couple said they bonded over their shared grief during their relationship.
Francie's son Gregory - Anthony's dad - is also part of Dog's bounty hunting crew, working alongside Dog and his daughter, Lyssa

911 response to Hulk Hogan's fatal cardiac arrest
The chilling audio of the 911 call as emergency services rushed to Hulk Hogan's Florida home has emerged following his death. The WWE icon died at the age of 71 early Thursday morning after suffering cardiac arrest at his home in Clearwater, Florida. 911 operators could be heard dispatching paramedics to the scene as they noted the matter pertained to a cardiac arrest in the disturbing audio of the call, which was obtained by TMZ shortly after the devastating news of his passing broke. A 'slew of police cars and EMTs were parked outside Hogan's home' where the wrestling legend was reportedly stretchered out and placed in an ambulance, according to the outlet. In a video shared to social media, responders were caught desperately trying to save Hogan's life as they transported him out of his home. They appeared to be administering CPR as they carried him to the ambulance. Officials reportedly responded to the call to emergency services at 9:51am. Hogan was treated by Clearwater Fire & Rescue personnel before being taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Hogan is survived by his third wife Sky, who he wed in 2023, children Brooke, 37, and Nick, 34, who he shared with first wife Linda Claridge, and two grandchildren. The shock death comes just weeks after his wife Sky denied rumors he was on his deathbed in a coma — and claimed his heart was 'strong' after he underwent a routine neck surgery. His representative said in a statement last month: 'He's had problems with his back for years but there's no emergency.' Last month, a source revealed to that Hogan — who was embroiled in a shocking family feud with his ex-wife Linda and estranged daughter Brooke earlier this year — was trying to work his way back to '100 percent' after neck and back operations. 'Hulk has a body ravaged by wrestling, his body is the body of a 140-year-old man with all the bumps and bruises through the years, and his recent neck and back surgeries have been harder to come back from,' a source close to Hogan said. 'But the rumors of heart issues is not a thing, and talk of him dying is farfetched. He is just having some struggle and trouble to get back to being 100 percent faster. He is getting older, he still is in good shape, works out. But he's a beaten man, just trying to get as right as possible. Obviously, he will never wrestle again, but it isn't because he is dying, it is because his bones are deteriorated.' Hogan had previously opened up about undergoing '25 surgeries in the past decade.' Speaking on Jake Paul's IMPAULSIVE podcast last year, he said: 'Ten of them were back surgeries. I've had both knees and hips replaced, shoulders — everything.' Fans were left concerned for Hogan when he appeared as a special guest on Fox & Friends at the start of May while sporting a worrying new look. Renowned for his deep tan, the WWE great's skin looked particularly weathered on air, while his usual white beard appeared to be dyed black despite his goatee and hair being left white — making for a strange contrast. Hogan's physical and mental condition likely came under strain during his very public fallout with his ex-wife and daughter back in March. In an astonishing video on social media, Linda first accused her former husband of being a 'complete liar' and 'sex addict'. She also claimed their family is 'in the worst mess' after Brooke cut both parents out of her life, before hitting back at her mom by alleging that her dad was not the only reason behind the shocking family divide, claiming she was 'verbally and mentally abused' during her childhood. 'Sadly, it would frequently turn physical. And sometimes it's not by the person you would assume, abuse comes in all shapes and sizes,' Brooke alleged. After Brooke's stunning response, Linda then took a dramatic U-turn by defending Hogan and branding her daughter a 'narcissist.'
