vivo T4 Ultra's launch date is finally official

GSM Arena04-06-2025
vivo started teasing the upcoming T4 Ultra late last month, and today the brand has finally revealed when the phone is getting fully official. It's launching in India on June 11 and will be offered through Flipkart and vivo's online store.
The teaser campaign continues in the meantime, and so we find out that the device has a 50 MP periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, using the Sony IMX882 sensor. This comes with OIS and is also a macro shooter.
The main camera is a 50 MP one using Sony's IMX921 sensor, with OIS, and there's also an 8 MP ultrawide on the rear. The phone is powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 9300+ SoC, advertised to give an AnTuTu score over 2 million.
According to past rumors, the T4 Ultra will have a 6.67-inch OLED screen with "1.5K" resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate, 8GB of RAM, and will run Android 15 with Funtouch OS 15 on top.

Weekly poll results: the vivo X200 FE is a hit

Peter, 06 July 2025 The vivo X200 FE has a big presence for such a small phone – looking at the results from last week's poll, this could be the best mini flagship out there. And yes, it's a mini flagship, less than 5% of voters had issues with the size. Many still haven't made up their minds and are waiting for a review (ours is coming soon). It doesn't help that vivo hasn't confirmed the global pricing yet. That said, the majority of voters are showing strong interest towards the FE. It will compete against the likes of the OnePlus 13s (but the X200 FE wins by default in Europe) and Xiaomi 15 (but that one is certainly the more expensive model). Only around 10% of voters think they can get better value with some other small flagship. That is not to say that the vivo X200 FE didn't have its critics. The 8MP ultra-wide is a letdown for some (the vivo X200 Pro mini has a 50MP UW sensor) as was the USB 2.0 port. The proper launch of the vivo X200 FE (and X Fold5) is scheduled for July 14 for India, so stay tuned for pricing info.

Sony stops selling the Xperia 1 VII to fix some issues

Vlad, 04 July 2025 Sony unveiled the Xperia 1 VII, its latest flagship smartphone, in May, and it's already been available in Japan for a while now. However, today the company has announced that it's temporarily suspending shipments and sales of the device in its home market. This is due to many reports of Xperia 1 VII units turning off by themselves, randomly rebooting, and even not turning on. Obviously, any one of those three is a huge problem individually, but apparently all of them are currently happening in the wild. To those who have an Xperia 1 VII that won't turn on, Sony suggests holding both the power button and volume up button for about 20 seconds to recover it, and then applying the latest software update. If that doesn't help, then Sony is advising people to contact its support staff. Sony Xperia 1 VII 5G 256GB 12GB RAM £ 1,399.00 Detailed instructions for the software update procedure are provided at the Source linked below. Interestingly, while Sony implies that the latest update will fix the issues, it also, in the same page, says that it's still investigating what's causing them. So maybe the software update is more of a precautionary thing, and not an actual solution. We'll let you know how this situation develops. Thanks for the tip, Josip! Source (in Japanese)
