Ex-Rangers star Kemar Roofe subjected to sickening abuse as vile fan wishes him ‘long and brutal death'
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) FORMER Rangers striker Kemar Roofe has revealed a sickening online message containing death threats. The vile communication appears to stem from a game that was played more than FOUR YEARS ago. Sign up for the Rangers newsletter Sign up 4 Kemar Roofe scored some huge goals for Rangers Credit: Getty Roofe, 32, left Rangers at the end of the 2023/24 season when his contract expired. Although his four-year spell at Ibrox was often blighted by injury, the former Leeds and Anderlecht frontman played an integral role as the Gers won the Scottish Premiership title in 2021. He also won both domestic cup honours with the Light Blues and scored on the club's run to the Europa League Final in 2022. Roofe spent several months as a free agent before being snapped up by Derby County in February. Although he was released at the end of the season, the striker has continued to train with the Rams this summer and play in their pre-season matches. He could yet sign a new deal ahead of the new season. But in a rather shocking turn of events, Roofe has shared an absolutely sickening message he's received on social media. He shared the disturbing message to his Instagram post from an anonymous account who's image is just a glass of beer. The horrific post contains death threats. It says: "Hi IDIOT. I wish you long and brutal death in huge pains m***********. 4 Kemar Roofe shared the despicable abuse he'd received Credit: INSTAGRAM "Till the end of your f****** life you will the biggest idiot ever. "Die, die, die, you and all your f****** family. "Slavia Prague, do you remember, you f****** b******????? "Karma will find you.... m***********." Roofe played in Rangers' Europa League clash with Slavia Prague back in 2021. Although the twisted punter doesn't detail any specific incident, it's likely it relates to the former Rangers man's sending-off during the second leg of the tie. Roofe was one of two Gers players to be shown a red card in a 2-0 defeat at Ibrox that saw the Light Blues exit 3-1 on aggregate. He was dismissed on 61 minutes after catching the Czech club's goalkeeper Ondrej Kolar flush in the face with his boot when challenging for a high ball. Kolar has continued to wear a head guard during matches ever since the clash. The fall-out from the tie also saw Slavia defender Ondrej Kudela handed a 10-match ban after racially abusing Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara. 4 Roofe caught Slavia Prague goalkeeper Ondrej Kolar with a high boot Credit: PA 4 He was sent off by the referee Credit: Getty Keep up to date with ALL the latest news and transfers at the Scottish Sun football page

Ex-Celtic ace ‘one of FOUR team-mates involved with same fan' as club react to claim he cheated on wife at gas station
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) FORMER Celtic star Alexandro Bernabei is at the centre of a storm in Brazil amid allegations he cheated on his wife with a blonde fan of new club Internacional at a gas station. And incredibly, it's claimed the former Hoops star is one of FOUR members of the same team who are involved with the same woman, who is said to be the daughter of a businessman linked to the club. But the blonde fan in question, as quoted in various outlets, alleges that the player arrived at the meeting point in an Amarok V6 pickup truck with things "quickly escalating to kissing and sexual conversations in the car". It's a scandal which has rocked Brazil in recent days, with Internacional even attempting to laugh it off with a social media post which read: "Whether by bus, van, or Amarok, grab three more friends and come to Beira-Rio!" Bernabei signed for the Hoops from from Argentine side Lanus in 2022 for £3.75m and was expected to potentially dislodge Greg Taylor from the left-back slot. But after only 28 appearances in just under two full seasons at Parkhead he was sent on loan to Internacional in Brazil, where his performances earned a permanent deal with a fee in the region of £5m in January. He's become a massive hero with the club's fans - but this report could put that reputation at risk. It's claimed that the woman in question reached out to Bernabei's wife with an Instagram message after the incident. Backed up by screenshots of social media messages apparently exchanged between the pair, a report first aired in Portal LeoDias reads: "According to reports and screenshots obtained by our team, the Argentine player allegedly cheated on his wife with a blonde fan in an extramarital encounter on July 10th at a gas station in the south zone of Porto Alegre. It adds: "According to the woman, Bernabei used Instagram's temporary mode to automatically delete conversations between the two, in an attempt to avoid any kind of recording. "The meeting place was chosen because it was private, away from the city's hustle and bustle, and the player arrived at the meeting point in an Amarok V6 pickup truck. Shock scenes as Celtic and Ajax fans clash during Como Cup friendly tournament in Italy "In her account, the fan claims that the atmosphere between the two quickly escalated to kissing and sexual conversations in the car. "She also points out that Bernabei maintains contact with other women and acts deliberately to keep his wife's attention away." The woman in question is quoted as telling reporters: "I could tell: he wasn't just mine. This guy is a jerk. He's chatting with several women, exchanging messages with other women, fans." "He completely disregards his wife's suspicions. He denies it to the end, puts on a saintly front, and plays the victim." She claims that Bernabei promised to do it again, saying: 'I went to get out of the car and he pulled me back to kiss me some more and said he was going to call me to see me again. She added: "I even told [his wife], Look I'm sorry, I made a mistake with you. "I'm coming here to tell you all this, I made a mistake but I'm telling you this." 4 The woman contacted Benabei's wife Credit: Portal LeoDias "I ended up regretting it but she didn't believe me and that was it. I ave a boyfriend but I had a fight with him, we weren't together at the time. It wasn't a matter of me cheating. "People are judging me, saying I wanted fame. The last thing I want is that. I don't want to be seen. I don't want anyone to know my name. I'm coming here precisely because I wasn't the only one." Bernabei has shared numerous snaps of himself with his partner on social media, writing: 'The most sacred thing: family!!!' Back in August 2023, he was fined £1,875 after he was found to be driving when more than twice over the limit. He was picked up by cops in Glasgow city centre after the Hoops' 5-0 win at Kilmarnock with 48 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when the limit is 22 micrograms. Former Rangers star Colin Hendry admits harassing ex-partner
The 59-year-old ex-central defender, who helped Blackburn win the Premier League title and captained Scotland at the 1998 World Cup, was sentenced at Preston Magistrates' Court on Wednesday. Hendry had admitted harassment of his former partner over a period of six months after their relationship ended. Natasha Clark, senior crown prosecutor for the Crown Prosecution Service North West, said: 'Colin Hendry harassed a former partner for over six months after their relationship ended after she stopped returning his calls. 'He ignored her wishes and breached boundaries she put in place, using multiple different platforms to contact her. 'Hendry's behaviour was intimidating and persistent, causing the victim immense distress, but despite this he initially refused to accept it was harassment. 'This outcome is a clear indication that the CPS will not hesitate to prosecute anyone guilty of harassment, whether this is in person or online.' When his calls went unanswered, he turned to other means including dozens of emails and messaging her on LinkedIn. After her saying she no longer wanted any kind of relationship with him, Hendry consistently attempted to contact her, showing up to her house with unwanted gifts and flowers on several occasions. The victim reported Hendry to the police, saying she felt depressed and anxious because of his behaviour. She said she was unable to leave the house without fearing an unannounced visit from him. Lancashire Police contacted Hendry to warn him about his behaviour, telling him to stop all communications to the ex-partner which were unwanted. While Hendry admitted to his conduct, he tried to deny it was harassment, claiming he never received a written warning from police so continued to contact her and that he was simply concerned for the affected person and her dog. He later admitted one count of harassment without violence. Hendry started his football career with Dundee before moving to Blackburn in 1987 and then on to Manchester City two years later. He rejoined Rovers for a second stint in 1991 and was a key part of the title-winning team four years later, before spending 18 months in the Scottish Premiership with Rangers towards the end of the 1990s.
