Agra: In a bid to strengthen law and order management and ensure timely dissemination of information, the Agra police have developed an artificial intelligence (AI)-based software to promptly deliver UP police documents and circulars to citizens, making it the first such platform of its kind in the state.
According to a statement by Agra police, the software, named ECOP, is based on retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) technology and was developed in collaboration with IIT Kanpur. The team included – DCP (city) Sonam Kumar, Mayank Pathak (who served as ASP U/T in Agra) and IIT Kanpur students Udbhav Agarwal, Trijal Srivastava, Vedant Neekhra (all from electrical engineering department) and Gaurav Kumar Rampuria from statistics and data science department.
E
xplaining the functioning of the new system, DCP Kumar said, "ECOP, which stands for Efficiency Cell for Optimising Policing, operates much like AI tools such as ChatGPT and Deepseek. It can access and analyse extensive data and has been trained specifically on publicly available documents of the UP police. These documents were digitised using optical character recognition (OCR) and used to train the AI model.
"
He added, "When users pose questions, the AI fetches precise information from relevant UP police circulars and documents, enabling citizens to access verified guidelines and instructions. Besides benefiting the public, the software will also assist police personnel with queries related to procedures, such as handling criminal cases in police stations."
Commending the initiative, Agra police commissioner Deepak Kumar said, "Such efforts aim to ensure a developed India through smart policing."

IIT-K, UP Police launch AI bot for instant access to info on theft, crime guidelines

Lucknow: IIT Kanpur and UP Police have jointly introduced an AI-powered bot -- Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)-- providing quick access to information from Hindi police circulars. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now This innovative system enables officers and public to instantly retrieve details from over 1,000 circulars using natural language queries. Users can access the software at If one wants to see the circulars related to elections or their brief description, they need to put the election prompt in the search bot. A page displaying the summary of the elections will be available. The summary includes different circulars and guidelines issued by UP Police during elections. The collaboration, said Shubham Sahay, faculty at IITK's electrical engineering department, transformed a concept into a deployed solution that strengthens public safety and digital governance. "The idea was to help officers and the public get the relevant information that is stacked all over quickly. Students at the Science and Technology (S&T) Council digitised all Hindi circulars/notices using the optical character recognition (OCR) technique that brought 1,000 circulars related to governance, theft, crime at one place," Sahay said. Institute secretary, S&T Council, IIT-K, Om Shrivastava, said: "We got a chance to collaborate with UP Police to build something that could make policing smarter and more citizen-friendly. What started as an idea to cut short the time spent on searching documents has now become an example of how technology can serve those who serve us, under pressure, with limited resources and with immense responsibility." Providing assistance and guidance in developing the RAGBOT, ASP, Aligarh, Mayank Pathak explained that the circulars compiled together are those giving out instructions to subordinate officers and to the public in terms of law and order and investigation issues. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now "For instance, someone who wants to know steps taken in investigating a vehicle theft case or others seeking information on how a passport is verified by the police can seamlessly get details by using this RAGBOT," said Pathak, an IIT-K alumnus. "In both cases, the AI bot will list steps taken to make the process more transparent and also make the public more aware of the processes involved in different cases," added Pathak, an IIT-K alumnus.

'Hate Disaster' at Grok to blame, speculations go viral after Elon Musk's '5-word' reply to Twitter CEO Linda Yaccarino's goodbye note

Twitter CEO Linda Yaccarino has resigned after two years. Yaccarino announced the same in a post on Twitter. "After two incredible years, I've decided to step down as CEO of 𝕏.," she wrote. "I'm immensely grateful to him for entrusting me with the responsibility of protecting free speech, turning the company around, and transforming X into the Everything App," Yaccarino added. Elon Musk gave a five-word response to her long 'goodbye' post. "Thank you for your contributions," wrote Musk. When Grok ran wild: "MechaHitler" and more ... Linda Yaccarino's resignation comes just a day after a recent update to Grok led to a flood of antisemitic commentary from the chatbot that included praise of Adolf Hitler. On Tuesday, July 9, it was calling itself "MechaHitler" in some responses, amplifying concerns about its behavior. Yaccarino has not publicly addressed this latest hate speech controversy. She has previously defended Elon Musk's approach, notably in a lawsuit against Media Matters for America. The advocacy group's report alleged that posts from major advertisers on X appeared alongside neo-Nazi and white nationalist content, prompting some advertisers to pause their campaigns. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Esta nueva alarma con cámara es casi gratuita en Laboulaye (ver precio) Verisure Más información Undo Some experts reportedly link Grok's behavior to Musk's intent to position it as a counterpoint to 'woke' chatbots like OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google's Gemini. In late June, Musk invited Twitter users to train Grok by sharing 'divisive facts' in a June 21 post, stating, 'Please reply to this post with divisive facts for @Grok training. By this I mean things that are politically incorrect, but nonetheless factually true.' This call reportedly led to a flood of racist responses and conspiracy theories. Grok's prompts were later updated to encourage 'politically incorrect' but 'well-substantiated' claims, though this instruction was subsequently removed. On Wednesday, the Grok account posted on X, saying, 'We are aware of recent posts made by Grok and are actively working to remove the inappropriate posts,' without elaborating further. xAI has since implemented stricter content moderation protocols to prevent similar incidents, though details on these measures remain limited.

Nvidia Makes History As First $4 Trillion Company, Greater GDP Of France, UK

Last Updated: Nvidia reached $4 trillion in market value, driven by AI optimism. Led by Jensen Huang, Nvidia's GPUs are key to AI advancements Nvidia became the first company to reach $4 trillion in market value on Wednesday, a new threshold in Wall Street's bet that artificial intelligence will transform the economy. Shortly after the stock market opened, Nvidia, which is led by electrical engineer Jensen Huang, vaulted as high as $164.42, giving it a valuation above $4 trillion before retreating slightly. 'The market has an incredible certainty that AI is the future," said Steve Sosnick of Interactive Brokers. 'Nvidia is certainly the company most positioned to benefit from that gold rush." Nvidia has now attained a market value greater than the GDP of France, Britain or India, a testament to investor confidence that AI will spur a new era of robotics and automation, potentially boosting productivity while also challenging incumbent sectors and companies. The California chip company's latest surge is helping to drive a recovery in the broader stock market, even as Nvidia itself outperforms major indices. Part of this is due to relief that President Donald Trump has walked back his most draconian tariffs, which pummeled global markets in early April. Even as Trump has announced new tariff actions in recent days, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq have lingered near records. 'You've seen the markets walk us back from a worst-case scenario in terms of tariffs," said Angelo Zino, technology analyst at CFRA Research. While Nvidia still faces US export controls to China as well as broader tariff uncertainty, the company's deal to build AI infrastructure in Saudi Arabia during a Trump state visit in May showed there was also potential upside in Trump's trade policy. 'We've seen the administration using Nvidia chips as a bargaining chip," Zino said. – Bullish on 2026 – Nvidia's latest surge to $4 trillion marks a new threshold in a fairly consistent rise over the last two years as AI enthusiasm has built. In 2025 so far, the company's shares have risen 20 percent, whereas the Nasdaq has gained six percent. The Taiwan-born Huang has wowed investors with a series of advances, including its core product: graphics processing units (GPUs), which are foundational to many of the generative AI programs pursued throughout the technology sector, with applications in autonomous driving, robotics and other cutting-edge domains. The company has also unveiled new advances in recent months, highlighting its Blackwell system, which Huang said in March will soon enable virtually all productions to be 'created and brought to life long before it is realized physically." However, Nvidia's winning streak was challenged early in 2025 following revelations about the Chinese DeepSeek venture, which prompted worries that AI investment growth would slow. The company lost some $600 billion in market valuation during this period. Nvidia's Huang has welcomed DeepSeek as a growing presence in technology, while arguing against US export constraints. In the most recent quarter, Nvidia reported earnings of nearly $19 billion despite a $4.5 billion hit from US export controls designed to limit sales of cutting-edge technology to China. The first-quarter earnings period also revealed that momentum for AI remained strong throughout the tech industry. Many of the biggest technology companies — Microsoft, Google, Amazon and Meta — are racing each other in the multi-billion-dollar race to win the AI race. A recent UBS survey of technology executives showed Nvidia widening its lead over rivals. Zino said Nvidia's latest surge reflected a fuller understanding of DeepSeek, which has acted as a stimulant to investment for complex reasoning models rather than a threat to Nvidia's business. Nvidia is at the forefront of 'AI agents," the current focus in generative AI in which machines are able to reason and infer more than in the past, he said. 'Overall the demand landscape has improved for 2026 for these more complex reasoning models," Zino said.
