Air India crash report: Pilots' grouping ALPA seeks fair, fact-based probe into AI plane crash
Airline Pilots' Association of India on Saturday (July 12, 2025) demanded a fair and fact-based probe into the Air India plane crash as it claimed that the tone and direction of the investigation into the Air India plane crash suggests a bias towards pilot error. The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has released its preliminary report into the fatal Boeing 787-8 plane crash on June 12 that killed 260 people. The report has found that the fuel supply to both engines of Air India flight AI171 was cut off within a second of each other, causing confusion in the cockpit and the airplane plummeting back to ground almost immediately after taking off. The 15-page report says that in the cockpit voice recording, one unidentified pilot asked the other why he had cut off the fuel, which the other denied. "The tone and direction of the investigation suggest a bias towards pilot error... ALPA India categorically rejects this presumption and insists on a fair, fact-based inquiry," Airline Pilots' Association of India (ALPA) said in a statement. The association has also demanded that its representatives should be observers in the investigation process to ensure transparency and accountability. ALPA Indiais a member associate of the International Federation of Airline Pilots' Association (IFALPA).

Radhika Yadav Murder: Why Cops Aren't Buying Father's 'Was Being Taunted' Claim
Police sources say Deepak Yadav had a short temper and often got angry over small issues—even once lashing out at his wife just for speaking to her brother-in-law In a new twist to the Radhika Yadav murder case in Gurugram, accused Deepak Yadav has claimed he was driven to the crime by taunts about living off his daughter's earnings. However, police remain sceptical, pointing out his substantial monthly income and questioning the motive, especially since he himself had established Radhika's tennis academy. According to police sources, Deepak Yadav had a quick temper and would get angry over trivial matters. This was evident when he became furious with his wife, Manju Yadav, merely for talking to her brother-in-law. Sources suggest that if anyone commented on his son, daughter or wife, Deepak would take out his anger on them. Following an injury to Radhika's shoulder, Deepak started a tennis academy at her insistence, spending approximately Rs 2 crore. Radhika had reportedly travelled to five to six countries and participated in international tennis tournaments before her shoulder injury led her to retire and run her academy. The academy's caretaker noted that Radhika was content and actively involved in training children, often visiting for about a month at a time, during which her father never visited the academy. Radhika, a state-level tennis player, was tragically shot dead on Thursday, allegedly by her father following a dispute over her tennis academy. Deepak was arrested the same day and has been under police interrogation since. He confessed to the authorities that he had been distressed by neighbours and relatives' taunts about living off his daughter's income and had not slept for the past 15 days. According to Deepak, he had invested over Rs 2.5 crore in Radhika's tennis training since her childhood. Two years ago, Radhika sustained an injury that forced her to step away from her tennis career, as reported by India Today. Radhika then began training young aspiring tennis players and booked various tennis courts for this purpose. However, her father urged her to stop the training sessions, as he had become extremely sensitive to the criticism from people around him. Deepak earned approximately Rs 15 lakh per year from multiple properties and insisted that she shut down the academy since his income was sufficient. Radhika had also aspired to become a social media influencer and frequently uploaded reels on Instagram. A music video featuring her was released a year ago. Nonetheless, Deepak was reportedly unhappy with her social media presence and pressured her to delete all her accounts, as stated in the report. view comments First Published: July 12, 2025, 16:42 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
