New Weekly Gwalior–Bengaluru Express Train Launched
The Indian Railways has started a new weekly train between Gwalior and Bengaluru. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw launched the service and called it a major gift for the Gwalior-Chambal region. He said the train will improve connectivity and make travel easier for people in the area.
Train Schedule and Route Details
The Gwalior–Bengaluru Weekly Express (Train No. 11085/86) will leave Gwalior every Friday at 3:00 PM and reach Bengaluru by 7:35 AM on Sunday. On the return journey, it will leave Bengaluru every Sunday at 3:50 PM and reach Gwalior by 10:25 AM on Tuesday.
The train will pass through important stations like Bhopal, Nagpur, Kacheguda, Dhone, and Dharmavaram, and includes sleeper, general, and AC coaches.

Railways may allow more IDs for tatkal booking authentication
NEW DELHI: Indian Railways may allow use of more documents in addition to Aadhaar for authentication of their IRCTC account to book Tatkal tickets, reports Dipak Dash. Documents that are uploaded and saved in Digilocker such as PAN Card, driving licence and voter ID are likely to be included to the list for authentication of users, sources said. TOI has learnt that the railway ministry may come up with an update on Monday, a day before linking Aadhaar with IRCTC account of users come to effect. The matter was discussed at a review meeting chaired by minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Friday. Around 2.2 lakh passengers book Tatkal tickets through the IRCTC website and app daily. Railways has advised travelers to connect their Aadhaar numbers with their IRCTC accounts to prevent any disruptions from July 1 (Tuesday).

Union minister Vaishnaw flags off Purulia–Bankura–Howrah MEMU train: ‘101 stations being upgraded'
Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Saturday virtually inaugurated the first Purulia–Bankura–Howrah MEMU train via Masagram, highlighting the Centre's drive to expand and modernise rail networks. He noted that currently the rail investment in West Bengal has risen from around rupees 4,380 crore in 2009–14 to about rupees 14,000 crore. The new service revives the historic Bankura–Damodar link, covering 283 km at a fare of just Rs 60—cheaper than the Rs 65 Kharagpur route. It will serve daily commuters, students, and traders by offering cleaner, faster travel between Purulia, Bankura, Masagram, and Howrah. Masagram now links the South Eastern Railway's Bankura–Masagram line with the Eastern Railway's Howrah–Bardhaman chord, promising improved access, tourism growth, and economic development across Purulia, Bankura, Hooghly, and Howrah districts. Vaishnaw also inspected redevelopment work at Santragachi Station under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, which aims to transform ageing stations into modern transit hubs with enhanced passenger amenities. 'In West Bengal alone, 101 stations are being upgraded at an extraordinary pace,' he said. 'This isn't just development—it's a new era for Indian Railways, replacing 50–60-year-old facilities with modern infrastructure that meets today's expectations for quality and experience.'

1st electric train departs from Dibrugarh station
1 2 Dibrugarh: In a historic moment, the 12423 Rajdhani Express, bound for New Delhi, chugged out of the Dibrugarh Railway Station (DBRG) station at 8.55pm on Friday powered by an electric locomotive — a first time ever from this historic railway station. The electric loco train service from Dibrugarh had been anticipated since June 25, when Train No 12424 Rajdhani Express arrived at Dibrugarh from New Delhi via Tinsukia, becoming the first train to complete the entire journey to the station using electric power. Friday's departure marked the reciprocal milestone, establishing full electric rail connectivity between India's northeastern frontier and the national capital. "This is a historic moment not just for Dibrugarh, but for the entire northeast region. This achievement represents a crucial step forward in Indian Railways' Mission 100% Electrification....," Parag Katre, divisional railway manager of Northeast Frontier Railway's Tinsukia division, said.
