Astronomer HR chief Kristin Cabot appears to be married to CEO of Privateer Rum— and bought a house with him just five months ago: records

Yahoo7 days ago
Kristin Cabot, the HR executive caught canoodling with Astronomer CEO Andy Byron at a Coldplay concert, appears to be married to the CEO of a different company — and bought a house with him less than five months before the scandal hit, The Post has learned.
Property records obtained by The Post show that the 52-year-old Cabot, whose maiden name is Stanek, has shared a Rye, New Hampshire address with Andrew Cabot — the chief executive of Privateer Rum, a Massachusetts-based booze maker — since at least 2023.
Privateer Rum's website lists Andrew Cabot as its CEO and COO of the company. His bio says his 'ancestor, the original Andrew Cabot (1750-1791), was a merchant, rum distiller and successful American privateer during the American Revolution.'
After being listed as co-residents at one address in Rye, Andrew and Kristin Cabot bought the two-story, four-bedroom New Englander-style house — located just minutes from the Atlantic coast — in February for $2.2 million, the records showed.
While Kristin and Andrew Cabot share a last name and appear to jointly own the home, The Post could not confirm immediately when or where their apparent marriage took place.
Kristin Cabot's now-deleted LinkedIn account showed that she has served as an 'advisory board member' at Privateer Rum since September 2020.
A photo purportedly showing Kristin and Andrew Cabot posing with two children has circulated on social media this week.
Andrew Cabot and Privateer Rum did not immediately return The Post's requests for comment. Efforts to reach Kristin Cabot also were unsuccessful.
Astronomer, a New York-based software firm, confirmed Friday afternoon that it was investigating the concert incident.
'Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability,' the company said in a statement posted on LinkedIn.'The Board of Directors has initiated a formal investigation into this matter and we will have additional details to share very shortly,' the company added.
As The Post previously reported, Kristin Cabot filed for divorce with her ex-husband Kenneth Thornby in 2018 and the split was finalized in 2022, according to Massachusetts court records.
Cabot and Byron went viral for trying to dodge the 'kiss cam' at Gillette Stadium, which prompted Coldplay frontman Chris Martin to joke, 'Either they're having an affair or they're just very shy.'
Byron, meanwhile, appeared to be married to Megan Kerrigan Byron. She deleted his last name from her social media accounts before taking them offline entirely following a wave of comments from the public.
'Responsible for the vision and strategy, Andrew works closely with the team he assembled to produce one of the finest rums in in the world,' Privateer's website says. 'One simple question has focused Andrew throughout his career in technology, and time in public education and academia– 'how can we do this better?'
Elsewhere, ad copy for the brand — whose high-end bottles can retail for upwards of $100 each — pitches its strict use of authentic ingredients and 'Made in the USA' pedigree.
'One thing is certain,' one ad advises. 'Privateer advocates transparency, honesty and purity.'

Kristin Cabot Spotted For First Time Since Astronomer Kiss-Cam Scandal

For the first time since the infamous Coldplay kiss-cam debacle, Kristin Cabot has emerged, ringless, somber, and no longer the HR chief of Astronomer. Once a respected executive, Cabot's quiet appearance outside her lavish New Hampshire home offered a stark contrast to the explosive scandal that cost her and her CEO their careers. The Fall Of Astronomer's HR Chief Cabot, 52, who helmed the people operations division at Astronomer, officially stepped down after being caught in a kiss-cam moment with CEO Andy Byron during a July 16 Coldplay concert at Boston's Gillette Stadium. 'Kristin Cabot is no longer with Astronomer – she's resigned,' a spokesperson told TMZ. The steamy moment, recorded and widely shared, sparked internal investigations and external backlash. Both executives are married, making the clip's impact not just corporate but deeply personal. Byron had already resigned earlier in the week, leaving Cabot's fate to speculation until now. Kristin Cabot Seen Without Her Wedding Ring In exclusive photos obtained by the Daily Mail, Cabot was seen for the first time since the scandal outside her $2.2 million property in Rye, New Hampshire. Dressed in a pink athletic set and jacket, the once high-flying exec appeared subdued as she tended to her garden, hosing shrubs while dogs ran around. The wedding ring she had worn in social media photos and even at family events was also gone. Cabot appeared to be hosting a casual gathering, with about half a dozen guests seen playing soccer and swinging golf clubs in the yard. Still, her demeanor suggested a woman weighed down by more than summer heat. In addition, a new "No Trespassing" sign was mounted at the driveway, likely a message to deter curious persons from coming close. Astronomer CEO Andy Byron And His Wife In Hiding Cabot isn't the only one retreating from the spotlight. Byron, 50, is also married to Megan Byron, the Associate Director of Admissions at Bancroft School. Megan has since removed his surname from her social media accounts and fled their $1.4 million home in Massachusetts for a $2.4 million mansion in Kennebunk, Maine. She has been keeping a low profile, with her sister Maura and other family members rushing to her side. Joyful photos of the couple and their two sons have disappeared from Facebook, including one from a recent graduation. Megan has made no public statements about her husband's very public misstep. Astronomer Executive's Marriage In Question Meanwhile, Cabot's husband, Andrew Cabot, the CEO of Privateer Rum and a direct descendant of Boston's historic Cabot family, was reportedly in Asia on a business trip when the scandal broke. He returned Saturday to find his personal life in turmoil. He is yet to be seen at their home, and public documents reveal no divorce filings in Massachusetts or New Hampshire. The couple, listed as husband and wife in property records, bought their New Hampshire home in February using a $1.6 million mortgage from Morgan Stanley. The two-story, four-bedroom house sits on 1.42 acres and was described in listings as a 'fixer-upper' in need of rehab. Gardeners were seen on the premises recently, but it's unclear if renovations have truly begun. Meanwhile, the fate of the home and the couple's marriage hangs in the balance. Should they divorce, the property may need to be sold, or one spouse could refinance to take over sole responsibility. A Scandal That Ended More Than Just Careers The kiss that ended it all was anything but subtle. As Coldplay's kiss cam swept across Gillette Stadium, it lingered on Cabot and Byron, seated closely. Instead of pulling away, they leaned in. Chris Martin, the band's frontman, even called out the awkward pair during the concert. Both were placed under scrutiny, especially given their leadership roles at Astronomer. Cabot's LinkedIn profile, now deleted, had detailed her extensive career, including an advisory role at Privateer Rum since 2020. She joined Astronomer as Head of People in November 2024, with Byron once describing her as a 'perfect fit.' This wasn't Cabot's first marriage. She previously wed Ken Thornby in 2007 and finalized a divorce in 2020. The two share children, and court filings show she pursued Thornby for $186,176 in unpaid child support, alleging he lost his job and failed to meet his obligations. A judge ruled in 2022 that he must resume payments and alert Cabot upon re-employment. At a birthday party for Andrew Cabot's eldest daughter last year, Cabot looked every bit the integrated stepmom, posing with Andrew's kids, her own children, and wearing a wedding ring that was clearly missing in her Coldplay debut. Trump Loses It Over Epstein Drama Moments After New Revelations Surface

President Donald Trump has called the persistent controversy around his connection to Jeffrey Epstein a 'scam.' In a Truth Social post on Thursday, the president claimed it was the 'Radical Left Democrats' who were trying to distract from his political achievements by focusing on the mysterious Epstein files. Trump has been attempting to distract from links to his one-time friend Epstein, which keep resurfacing. Last week, he raged against a Wall Street Journal report that claimed he had sent a letter to Epstein for his 50th birthday that allegedly included the line 'May every day be another wonderful secret.' An angry Trump fired off a string of Truth Social posts, in which he called the letter 'fake' and announced he was filing a $10 billion lawsuit against the publication., which is owned by another sometime friend, Rupert Murdoch. After a flurry of Truth Social posts about trade deals, AI, and the death of Hulk Hogan on Thursday night, Trump once again waded into the Epstein debate, recycling some of his favorite catchphrases. He posted, 'The Radical Left Democrats are doing everything in their power to distract and obfuscate from our GREAT six months of service to America, results of which many are saying is the BEST six months in Presidential history.' The president continued, 'They have gone absolutely CRAZY, and are playing another Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax but, this time, under the guise of what we will call the Jeffrey Epstein SCAM.' Trump then addressed Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, who visited Epstein's associate Ghislaine Maxwell in prison on Thursday, where she is serving a 20-year sentence after being convicted in 2021 of recruiting underage girls for the sex trafficker. Blanche revealed on X that he will meet with Maxwell again on Friday and said, 'The Department of Justice will share additional information about what we learned at the appropriate time.' In his Truth Social post, which followed Blanche's post, Trump said, 'As things are revealed and, I hope will take place quickly, you will see that it is yet another Democrat CON JOB. Hopefully, the Grand Jury Files will put an end to this HOAX. Everyone should see what is there, but people who are innocent should not be hurt. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!' Trump has spent the week dodging the topic of Epstein, which has even seen some MAGA supporters turn against him. On Tuesday, when the president was asked about the Department of Justice meeting with Maxwell, he told reporters, 'I don't really follow that too much.' He then deflected from further Epstein questions by mentioning an alleged plot by Barack Obama to rig the 2016 election. Later that day, Trump posted on Truth Social, 'We had the Greatest Six Months of any President in the History of our Country, and all the Fake News wants to talk about is the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax!' When the Journal reported on Wednesday that Attorney General Pam Bondi had told Trump back in May that his name featured in the Epstein files several times, the president let White House communications director Steven Cheung respond for him. 'This is another fake news story, just like the previous story by the Wall Street Journal,' Cheung stated.
