Iconic '90s Singer, 56, Declares War on Time Itself: 'I Just Don't Believe in It.'
In a recent interview with Capital FM posted online Monday, Mariah Carey revealed she isn't just hitting high notes — she's skipping over calendars entirely.
When host Jordan North asked, 'Is it true you don't acknowledge the passing of time?' Carey didn't hesitate to share her personal philosophy.
'That is true,' she confirmed. 'I just don't believe in it.'
When North followed up to ask if she was referring to time zones, Carey quipped, 'No, just time.'
Co-host Sian Welby then asked, 'So no clocks? Just not into that?'
'Yeah. No, just let it go,' Carey replied.
As for Carey's well-known stance on birthdays, she touched on that too: 'I don't have a birthday, no. Anniversaries, yes,' she said.
This isn't a new take for the pop icon. In a 2014 Out interview, she declared, 'I'm eternally 12 years old.'
When asked about being a pop star for 25 years, she told the outlet, 'I don't count years, but I definitely rebuke them — I have anniversaries, not birthdays, because I celebrate life, darling.'
Now 56, Carey is applying the same logic to her music. Her latest single, 'Type Dangerous' (her first solo track since 2019), just debuted at No. 95 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking her 50th career entry.
Technically, the chart milestone is dated June 21, 2025 — but Mariah likely wasn't watching the clock.

That tally ranks the singles that rack up the largest number of total audience impressions across all airplay formats in the U.S. It's rare for any track to live on the list for a year or longer, and now Malone has scored a pair of those massive wins. "Circles" debuted on the Radio Songs chart in September 2019 and reached No. 1 in December. It spent 11 weeks ruling and still stands as Malone's longest-running champion by far. "I Had Some Help" only held on to the top spot for about half as long — five frames. It launched on the competitive ranking in May 2024 and has not disappeared since. While "I Had Some Help" is currently matched with "Circles," the two likely won't be tied for very long. Malone's first country win rises to No. 20 on the 50-spot roster, so there's a good chance it will continue to live on this list for several more months. In fact, by the time it's done, "I Had Some Help" may rank as one of the longest-charting tracks in the history of the Radio Songs tally. "I Had Some Help" is Malone's only current hit on the Radio Songs chart this week, but Wallen fills 10% of all the available spots. Amazingly, "I Had Some Help" is his highest-ranking win, even after more than a year on the roster, as it sits just above both "Just in Case" and "I'm the Problem," which give him a winning streak as they occupy Nos. 21 and 22, respectively. Further down on the ranking, "Love Somebody" dips to No. 44, while "What I Want," Wallen's collaboration with Tate McRae, lifts to a new peak of No. 46 in its second frame on the tally.

Red, White and Blue To-Do is back "bigger and better" in Philadelphia
We all know July 4, 1776 as Independence Day, but two days earlier, the Continental Congress in Philadelphia passed a resolution to break free from the British Empire. July 2 is the day John Adams figured would be remembered as Independence Day, calling for "pomp and parade." The Red, White and Blue To-Do honors that wish. The event was first put on in 2024 as part of a lead-up to the massive celebration coming in 2026 for America's 250th birthday. There was indeed a parade through Old City and another is set for the second annual "to-do" today in 2025. Vince Stango, COO of the National Constitution Center, said this year's Red, White and Blue To-Do is "bigger and better." It includes eight musical acts performing throughout the historic district, 13 floats and over 400 people marching. What's happening in the 2025 Red, White and Blue To-Do? The parade kicks off at the NCC at 11 a.m. and ends at 3rd Street between Walnut and Chestnut streets. Free musical performances will be happening between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. throughout Old City, with other programming planned at the historic attractions around the area between 5 and 7 p.m. Things wrap up with the Wawa Welcome America Salute to Service with the U.S. Army Field Band on Independence Mall. Brownie layer: 8 oz bittersweet chocolate - chopped ¾ cup unsalted butter - cut into pieces 2 tablespoons instant espresso powder dissolved in 1 tablespoon boiling water 1 ½ cups sugar 2 teaspoons vanilla 4 large eggs 1 cup all purpose flour ½ teaspoons salt 1 cup chopped walnuts Cream cheese frosting: 8 ounces softened cream cheese 6 tablespoons unsalted butter - softened 1 ½ cups powdered sugar 1 teaspoon each: Pure vanilla extract and cinnamon Glaze: 6 ounces bittersweet chocolate 2 tablespoons unsalted butter ½ cup heavy cream 1 ½ tablespoons instant espresso powder dissolved in one tablespoon water Directions Brownie layer: Melt the butter with the chocolate and the espresso mixture in a bowl over boiling water. Stir until mixture is smooth and remove the bowl from the heat and let cool to lukewarm - stir in the sugar and the vanilla. Stir in the eggs, one at a time, stirring well after each addition. Add the flour and salt and combine well. Stir in the walnuts and then pour the mixture into a greased 9 x 13-inch baking pan. Bake in a 350-degree oven for 20 - 25 minutes. Test for doneness and cool. For the frosting: Beat the cream cheese with the butter until the mixture is light and fluffy. Add the powdered sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon and beat well. Spread the frosting over the brownie layer and chill the brownies for one hour. For the glaze: Combine the chocolate with the butter, cream, and espresso mixture in a bowl over simmering water. Stir until smooth. Remove from heat and cool. Finally, glaze brownies and chill for three hours or more. Cut into 24 squares.
