Talati, middleman arrested for taking 3,000 bribe

Rajkot: A talati-cum-mantri serving in the Lakhtar village panchayat in Surendranagar, Dharmesh Pedhadiya, and his alleged middleman, Raju Vasoya, were arrested for allegedly taking a Rs 3,000 bribe after a trap was laid by the anti-corruption bureau (ACB) on Monday.
K H Gohil, in-charge deputy superintendent of police with the Rajkot unit of the ACB, said that the complainant in this case owns two plots at Vadod village in Wadhwan taluka. He approached the talati to get some documents pertaining to his plots.
Pedhadiya allegedly told him that the documents could only be got if he paid Rs 3,000 to one Raju Vasoya. Unwilling to pay the bribe, the complainant approached the ACB. The bureau acted on his complaint and set a trap.
During the operation, Raju Vasoya was caught red-handed accepting the bribe while discussing the matter with the complainant. Pedhiya and Raju Vasoya were then arrested for bribery. The ACB said the duo colluded to demand and accept the illegal payment.

He failed to satisfactorily account for these assets during searches conducted by Vigilance officials. A case has been registered against Bagh, and the investigation is currently underway. The thief could be seen walking casually inside the shop with his face completely covered with a cloth. Reports of burglaries are increasingly common, but one recent incident in Hyderabad's Dilsukhnagar has stood out for its unusual approach. Instead of breaking a lock or sneaking in through a window, a thief drilled a hole through a shop's wall to carry out the robbery. The target? A mobile phone store, from which the thief made off with phones worth lakhs. The entire act was caught on CCTV, and the footage is now going viral on social media. As per the video, the thief created a special entry for himself by drilling a hole into a side wall of the Big C mobile showroom, big enough for him to get inside. The clip shows debris along with a hammer on the staircase adjacent to the shop. In another video, the thief could be seen walking casually inside the shop with his face completely covered with a cloth. At one point, he starts taking down the boxes of the mobile phones while constantly trying to keep his face covered. As informed by the police, the unidentified man broke into the showroom after midnight and took away mobile phones worth around Rs 5 lakh, as per The Free Press Journal. The suspect appeared to have acted alone and managed to flee the site without being noticed. A case has been registered at the Malakpet Police Station, and the police are trying to determine the suspect's identity. Special teams have been formed to review the footage and check nearby surveillance cameras to trace the thief's movements. Speaking on the matter, Malakpet ACP K Subba Rami Reddy revealed that the shop was located on the ground floor of the two-storey commercial complex on the LB Nagar-Malakpet main road. 'There is a staircase next to the showroom. There is no security guard. The suspect sat on the staircase and dug a hole using a hammer and a crowbar into the wall. He picked up 10 mobile phone pieces and fled from the shop," he said, as per the Times of India. The store manager, along with the staff, discovered the theft upon returning to the shop in the morning. With the investigation now underway to track the accused, the incident has caused major concerns among the other shopkeepers and business owners in the area. So far, 34 people have lost their lives in the explosion and rescue operations continued at the site of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed sorrow over the loss of lives in the explosion. An ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakhs for the next of kin of each deceased and Rs 50,000 for the injured has been announced from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund.
