In a daring late-night theft, a group of criminals targeted a truck carrying high-end motorcycles, including the popular Suzuki Hayabusa, in Bengaluru. Although they failed to steal the superbike itself, they managed to escape with several parts, the driver's phone, and cash.According to a TOI report, Nanda Lal, 45, from Dungarpur in Rajasthan, was driving a truck loaded with Suzuki Hayabusa bikes from Haryana. The delivery was meant for two Bengaluru-based dealers, Apple Auto Agency in Banashankari and Aryan Auto Agency in Bidarahalli.Nanda successfully dropped off some bikes at Apple Auto on June 22. But while heading to Bidarahalli later that night, he lost his way near East Point Hospital in Virgonagar. At around 2am, with hardly anyone on the road, he parked the truck by the roadside and walked into the hospital to ask for directions, leaving the keys in the vehicle.That's when the thieves struck. In just a few minutes, they drove away with the truck.Nanda had left both his mobile phone and wallet in the truck, making it hard for him to call for help. After failing to find the vehicle nearby, he walked to Aryan Auto Agency early the next morning. He informed employee Jagadish, borrowed his phone, and called the truck owner. Using GPS tracking, they traced the truck to Gundur village near Hoskote.When Nanda and Jagadish reached the spot, a playground in Gundur, they found that the thieves had tried to remove one of the Hayabusa bikes but failed. However, they had damaged both sides of the bike, taken its mirrors, silencer, batteries, and the key set. They had also stolen Rs 3,000 in cash and Nanda's mobile phone.A case was filed under BNS Section 303 (theft) at Avalahally police station. Police are now checking CCTV footage from the route the thieves took to reach Gundur.'We suspect the miscreants knew the truck was carrying Hayabusas. The bike's starting price is over Rs 15 lakh. Gursher is alleged to have played a key role in facilitating televised interview of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi at the CIA staff office in Kharar. Search op to trace 3 JeM terrorists in J&K's Basantgarh enters third day
The search operation to track down three Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorists in a forested area of Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur entered its third day on Saturday amid heightened aerial surveillance, officials said. The cordon and search operation is being carried out by a joint team of security forces. A Pakistan-based JeM terrorist was killed in an encounter with security forces on Thursday, while three of his associates remain trapped in the forested area of the Basantgarh belt. Amid strengthening of the multi-tier cordon, the search operation, widened by the joint operation group, resumed this morning with the backing of drones and sniffer dogs, they said. The cordon has been further strengthened with additional reinforcements to eliminate the remaining terrorists of the group, the officials added. Inspector General of Police Bhim Sen Tuti said the terrorists are reported to be still within the cordoned off area. He said that out of the four terrorists, one -- the commander of the group -- has been killed. The group had been tracked for over a year. Two terrorists affiliated with JeM from this group were eliminated in Basantgarh in September last year. On Thursday, the four terrorists were found hiding near Karoor Nallah in the Bihali high-altitude belt and were engaged by the joint search party led by the Army's Para Commandos, resulting in an encounter. One of the terrorists killed in the encounter has been identified as Haider alias Jabbar, code-named Maulvi, from Pakistan. Supported by overground workers (OGWs), the terrorists had been moving from one area to another using forests and natural caves to hide, officials said. Five OGWs have been arrested over the past several months in the belt for providing food and shelter to the terrorists. It is also believed that a local terrorist, who had returned from Pakistan after several years, is actively supporting the group. The search by troops led to the recovery of the body of the killed terrorist along with ammunition, explosive material, and cash, the officials said. Goa Police books actors Puja Banerjee, Kunal Verma for extortion, abduction
Goa Police have registered an FIR against TV actor couple Puja Banerjee and Kunal Verma for allegedly abducting and extorting money from Bengali filmmaker Shyam Sunder Dey, officials said on Saturday. An FIR was initially registered at Panache police station in Kolkata on June 12 against the actor couple on the complaint of Dey's wife Malabika. The case was transferred to Calangute Police in North Goa as the purported incident had occurred in their jurisdiction, an official said. Goa Police booked the actor couple, Piyush Kothari, and others on the charges of kidnapping, assault, and extortion. The official said Dey had been asked to appear before Goa Police for recording his statement. "We have asked him to appear before the investigating officer as soon as possible," the official said. Dey's wife stated in the FIR that her husband shared a familial relationship with Banerjee and Verma, who offered to fund his business project. Dey has 50 films to his credit. "He is frequently approached by investors and lenders for his film projects, and in that capacity developed a close, almost a family relationship with Kunal and Puja, who had offered him to fund for his business project," the complaint reads. She claimed that her husband was working on a script writing assignment and driving a rented car with his assistant in Goa on May 31 when he was abducted. "On May 31, a black-coloured vehicle intercepted Shyam Sunder's car and he was abducted by goons, Puja Banerjee and Kothari. He was forcefully taken to an unknown location, where he was assaulted and tortured by Banerjee, Kunal Verma, and the hired goons," Malabika alleged. The accused threatened the filmmaker with false implication in a narcotics case if he failed to pay Rs 64 lakh. "During this illegal confinement, the accused seized his two mobile phones, forcibly extracted his personal data and passwords, and threatened to misuse them," the FIR stated. The victim was taken to a hotel where he was staying and then moved to an unknown villa on June 1. Malabika alleged that her husband managed to arrange and pay approximately Rs 23 lakh to the accused between May 31 and June 3 under immense mental pressure. She wrote an email on June 3 to concerned senior police officers in Goa who managed to rescue her husband on June 4.
