And Primark has become the go-to place for some shoppers to do just this.
A beloved Primark item has just been reduced from £22 to just £3, and shoppers are clamouring to get their hands on it.
The markdown is so steep that many people are buying multiple items at once, with some declaring they've bought 11 to stash away as Christmas gifts.
The item in question is the store's brown satin pyjamas, which have seen a massive reduction.

The item has been praised for its quality and value, even at its original price.
The deal was so good for one shopper that she ended up snapping up 11 sets of the pyjamas.
She took to the Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK to share her find.
Sharing a couple of pictures of her pyjamas and the receipt, she said: 'Primark brown satin pjs £22 to £3 I did buy 11 pairs (there were loads!) but have popped them away for Christmas gifts for daughters, niece, friends.
"I'll get some nice cosy socks and face masks etc to make a pamper hamper for each of them!'

Changes in store
Primark is making some important changes to its kids' clothing lines following months of feedback from parents and carers.
The high-street giant has announced it's making its clothing more inclusive, specifically for children who struggle with sensory issues.
In a move to increase comfort, Primark is removing neck labels from its core kids' clothing and nightwear.
This change means that t-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, and pyjamas will now feature printed labels instead.
Additionally, the retailer is introducing seamless sock options.
With the back-to-school season approaching, more than 50% of Primark's kids' clothing will now be neck label-free, including nearly 70% of its pyjamas.
The brand has stated its ambition is to continue increasing this number in the future, ensuring more comfortable options for all children.

Spotify to hike prices again for millions worldwide next month – here's how much extra YOU'LL need to pay

The streaming giant is looking to improve its margins CHANGING THEIR TUNE Spotify to hike prices again for millions worldwide next month – here's how much extra YOU'LL need to pay Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) SPOTIFY is set to hike its prices again for their millions of worldwide listeners next month. The price of its monthly premium individual subscription will increase from September in select markets. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 2 Spotify has been expanding its library of content to attract more subscribers Credit: Getty The Swedish streaming giant made the announcement on Monday, with subscribers expected to receive an email update explaining the price rise over the next month. Premium individual subscriptions will rise from 10.99 euros to 11.99 euros per month. This will occur in markets including South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America and the Asia-Pacific region. Spotify achieved its first annual profit for 2024, which can be linked to its previous price increases, as well as cost-cutting efforts in recent years. The company's shares have jumped by nearly 8 per cent this year, and they have gained about 40 per cent so far this year. The number of monthly active users and premium subscribers also increased over the second quarter. However, the company reported a loss during the period due to high taxes related to employee salaries. The price hike comes just months after Spotify showed developments on its "lossless audio" feature which is expected to make bills more expensive. It hopes to make songs sound even better for an extra fee for listeners. Last week, it was also revealed the company is making strict changes to its music app that could see some accounts deleted due to new UK age checks. Spotify's new AI feature lets you ask it to make any playlist for you – but there's a trick to finding it in the app Spotify has started showing popups asking people to confirm their age to access certain content made for adults, such as 18+ music videos. Users can confirm their age by sharing a selfie or their ID, a move which is compliance with new laws of the Online Safety Act. It is designed to protect children from easily stumbling across inappropriate material on the internet. A growing number of creators also are said to be joining the Spotify Partner Program. The programme is designed to help offer podcast creators more options for monetising their content. It has has also enabled the significant increase in video content on the platform for subscribers, according to CEO Daniel Ek. SAVE MONEY ON SPOTIFY One of the best ways to save money on Spotify is sharing. With a Premium Family subscription, you and five others can share the cost. You each get your own Spotify account with your own playlists and everything else, it's just billed from one place. To use Premium Family you have to all be living under the same roof. The plan currently costs £19.99. If you split that six ways, you're looking at £3.33 each, which is a lot less than paying for your own individual subscription at £11.99. Image credit: Getty

Inflation and soaring outgoings for pubs will see it double by 2030. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up The report puts the current average pint of a standard brand at £5.17 — and £6.10 in London. It predicts it could reach £8 nationwide by 2030 — and £11 in cities. But it warns: 'Touristy zones and stadiums could even see £12 to £13 pints becoming the norm.' The study by online review site PlayCasino forecasts Peroni rising from an average £6.83 to £11.33 and San Miguel from £6.36 to £10.55. Carlsberg will jump from £4.23 to £7.02, Stella Artois from £5.27 to £8.74 and Heineken from £6.00 to £9.95 The report says the rise in the national living wage has hit landlords. It highlighted increases to spiralling energy bills, alcohol duty hikes, and the rocketing costs of ingredients, packaging and transport. It adds: 'With the end of pandemic support many pubs are still catching up financially.' One landlord who responded to researchers, commented: "Our energy bills have tripled, stock costs are up and we're still recovering from the pandemic. Shoppers rush to buy PlayStation controllers scanning for just 50p at major discounter

SHOPPERS are rushing to one major discount retailer after it was spotted selling PlayStation controllers for just 50p. The incredible bargain stunned one user on Facebook who thought it the pricing was a "mistake". 2 The Hyperkin CirKa PS4 Wireless Controller has been discounted by half price, from £1 to 50p. Sharing the news to Facebook's Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group, the poster wrote: "I have just come across this on the B&M app. "Pretty sure it's a mistake as others seem to be 15 down to 10 but worth a look if your going anyway." However, others in the comments reassured it was not a mistake: "It's on the website, been there a while now, well done on finding one." Another added: "It's not a mistake, it's just it's really old stock and will only be available in some stores that have leftover stock." The controller is compatible with PS4, PC and MAC, and can be used to play your favourite games "from a comfortable distance". It is also compatible with the PS5, but only when playing PS4 games. Features of this Hyperkin wireless controller include vibration-feedback, motion sensing technology, a front-speaker and a light bar. Three-ft of micro charging cable is also included. Gaming fans should get into B&M stores quick if they want to get their hands on this great deal, as they are low in stock. Get an inside look at the new PS5 30th anniversary edition It comes after the retailer slashed another one of it's PlayStation accessories to just 10p. The discount retailer was also spotted selling a Playstation Twin Docking Station for 10p, when it usually sold for around £15. Last year, B&M also sold PS4 games, along with a number other items for cheap as part of its end of summer sale. How to save money at B&M Shoppers have saved hundreds of pounds a year by using B&M's scanner app. The scanner lets you see if an item's price is cheaper than advertised on the shop floor label. Products that are typically discounted are seasonal items and old stock that B&M is trying to shift. The app is free to download off the B&M Stores mobile app via Google Play or the Apple App Store. According to one ex-B&M manager, you'll want to visit your local branch at 10am on a Wednesday too. Here's how you can join the B&M bargain hunt: Download the B&M app for free on any smartphone with an App Store or Google Play. Once you've installed it on your device, click on the option labelled "more" on the bottom, right-hand side of the app home page. You'll then find an option that says "barcode scanner". Click on this and you'll open a camera screen. Use the camera to hover over the barcode of the product you wish to check. If the price comes up as lower, take it to the cash desk and it will automatically scan at the lower price. You don't need to sign up to the B&M app to use the barcode scanner.
