starred with the ball as Bangladesh cruised to a seven-wicket win over Pakistan in the first T20I in Dhaka on Sunday. Chasing a modest 111, opener Parvez Hossain smashed an unbeaten 56 to seal victory in just 15.3 overs and give the hosts a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
Put into bat, Pakistan crumbled to their lowest T20I total against Bangladesh — 110 all out in 19.3 overs. Taskin returned figures of 3 for 22, while Mustafizur was miserly with 2 for 6 in four overs. Pakistan's previous lowest against Bangladesh was 127/5 at the same venue in 2021.

Despite an early double-strike from debutant pacer Salman Mirza (2/23), who dismissed Tanzid Hasan and Litton Das cheaply, Bangladesh recovered swiftly.
Parvez and Towhid Hridoy (36) stitched together a crucial 73-run stand for the third wicket to ease the chase.
Parvez was in fine form, hitting five sixes and three boundaries during his 39-ball knock, finishing unbeaten on 56.
The win marked only Bangladesh's fourth victory over Pakistan in 23 T20Is.
Earlier, Pakistan endured a nightmare start, losing half their side for just 46 by the eighth over. Saim Ayub (6), Mohammad Haris (4), captain Salman Agha (3), Hasan Nawaz (0), and Mohammad Nawaz (3) all fell cheaply.

top-scored with 44 off 34 balls, including six fours and a six. He was twice reprieved — on 4 and 30 — before being run out after a mix-up with Khushdil Shah. Shah (17) and Abbas Afridi (22) later added 33 runs for the seventh wicket to take Pakistan past the 100-run mark.
Reflecting on the loss, skipper Salman Agha said: 'It wasn't enough on the board as we lost wickets at regular intervals, which we have to talk about before the second game.'
Litton Das acknowledged the challenge of batting on a slow pitch: 'It's not an easy wicket to bat on, but the way we batted, it looked good. We took early wickets and that's the key point.'
The second and third T20Is will also be played in Dhaka, on Tuesday and Thursday, respectively.

'I no longer want to be here': Micah Parsons officially confirms trade request in emotional message to Dallas

Micah Parsons officially confirms trade request in emotional message to Dallas (Image via Getty) Micah Parsons has asked the Dallas Cowboys to trade him. He made this clear in a long message posted on X on August 1, 2025. In that message he wrote, 'I no longer want to be here,' thanking Dallas but saying he feels the team has ignored his contract needs. That is the most important part right at the start. Micah Parsons requests trade from Dallas Cowboys after talks fall apart Micah Parsons said he asked to be traded from the Dallas Cowboys on Friday, August 1, 2025, while training camp in Oxnard, California was underway. He posted a heartfelt note on X that started, 'Thank you Dallas.' In that note he said he spoke with the Cowboys earlier about a new contract, including a meeting in March 2025 with owner Jerry Jones, but the team never entered formal talks when his agent tried to get involved. Micah Parsons said no one from Dallas has had a contract discussion with his agent, David Mulugheta, yet. This led Parsons to file a trade request directly to team COO Stephen Jones. He added: 'I no longer want to be here.' He stayed quiet at first but felt pushed by media narratives and lack of respect. 'My trade request has been submitted to Stephen Jones personally.' Micah Parsons and Jerry Jones' contract talks, agent left out and rising tension Micah Parsons, born May 26, 1999, was drafted by the Cowboys in 2021 and has become one of the NFL's top defenders with multiple All-Pro, Pro Bowl, and Defensive Rookie of the Year honors. He is now 26 and playing under the team's fifth-year rookie option, set to earn around $24 million in 2025. But he is pushing for a record deal beyond that. Also Read: Cowboys Star Micah Parsons Drops Cryptic 'One Last Time' GIF Amid Contract Standoff According to league sources, tensions rose when Jerry Jones publicly downplayed Mulugheta's role, saying he didn't even know the agent's name, even though Mulugheta is highly respected. Dallas claims the spring talks counted as a handshake deal, but Parsons' camp disagrees and says the team refuses to negotiate further. As a result, he refused to join full on-field drills at camp. Some former Cowboys like Dez Bryant have said the team should focus on football and stop the drama, warning that it could hurt team trust and performance. Other teams are expected to ask Dallas about Micah Parsons, but so far the team says it has no intention to trade him at this time. Bumrah released from squad: Will he play Asia Cup or next lot of Tests in India?

London/New Delhi: Pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah was on Friday released from the national squad after completing his quota of three Tests in the five-match series against England and stakeholders in Indian cricket have already started discussing his next international assignment. The 31-year-old Bumrah bowled 119.4 overs across three games and took 14 wickets. However at Manchester, Bumrah conceded more than 100 runs in a single innings for the first time in his career. Live Events Bumrah now has 219 wickets in 48 Tests. Prior to India's departure, chairman of selection committee Ajit Agarkar had confirmed that the pace ace won't play more than three Tests keeping his workload management in mind. Which format will Bumrah feature next? India's next international assignment is Asia Cup T20 tournament and it would be a surprise if Bumrah opts to play the tournament considering that the next Test series against West Indies will start in less than a week's time after the event in the UAE. The Asia Cup will conclude on September 29 and the first Test against the West Indies will start in Ahmedabad on October 2 followed by the second match in New Delhi from October 10-14 . Then in November there are two Tests against South Africa. "It will be a tricky call but Bumrah loves Test cricket and there are World Test Championship points at stake. As far as T20 is concerned, he can play the series against New Zealand in January, which will be a dress rehearsal for the T20 World Cup," a BCCI source abreast with Indian selection process told PTI on conditions of anonymity. "If Bumrah plays Asia Cup and suppose India plays the final, no way can he play against West Indies at Ahmedabad. Obviously the question arises, do you need Bumrah against West Indies or he plays Asia Cup after a month's break and plays the two Tests against South Africa. That call, Ajit Agarkar and Gautam Gambhir will have to take," the source added. Bumrah is not expected to play many ODIs till the T20 World Cup at home.

Good banter… we are good friends off the field," Krishna clarified at the end of play. Greenstone Lobo predicts result of India vs England fifth Test | What's in the stars? Krishna also addressed questions about the absence of Jasprit Bumrah and his own role in the side. 'Jasprit Bumrah playing or not playing… we know what our roles are,' he said. 'I have been picked here because I can do the job. Me not playing games can make me go to the drawing board. Here to do the job for the team. It's a process, not a performance for me.' It was just banter It was unprofessional It shows competitive spirit England had earlier made a flying start, with Zak Crawley (64) and Ben Duckett (43) adding 92 in just 13 overs. But the momentum shifted quickly after Akash Deep dismissed Duckett.
