Post Consumer Brands Employee-Driven "Ingredients for Good" Initiative Provides Over 91,000 Meals for People and Pets Experiencing Food Insecurity Across the United States and Canada

In the current economic environment, food insecurity remains a major issue in the U.S. and Canada, especially for communities of color, children and seniors, who are affected at a much higher rate. According to Feeding America, it is estimated that more than 45 million people in the U.S. and Canada experience food insecurity, with PetSmart Charities estimating that more than 30 million pets in U.S. households face hunger daily.
Throughout April's National Volunteer Month, more than 1,200 Post Consumer Brands employees volunteered more than 2,000 hours to local service projects, providing support to underserved populations facing food insecurities in their communities. Hands-on projects benefited 39 local nonprofit organizations and included packing meals for families in need, serving and preparing meals for community members facing food insecurity, and more. Projects at 12 Post locations focused on supplying underserved populations with culturally relevant and familiar ingredients in collaboration with the Greater Twin Cities United Way 'Flavors of Our Community' initiative, with sites assembling pantry packs and pet packs to be distributed to local nonprofits.
In addition to the local volunteer efforts, Post Consumer Brands also contributed more than $300,000 to local communities to support food access for the whole family.
The 18 locations taking part in this year's Ingredients for Good initiative were Asheboro, North Carolina; Battle Creek, Michigan; Bentonville, Arkansas; Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania; Cincinnati, Ohio; Cobourg, Ontario; Dallas, Texas; Jonesboro, Arkansas; Lakeville, Minnesota; Lawrence, Kansas; Meadville, Pennsylvania; Niagara Falls, Ontario; Northfield, Minnesota; Salt Lake City, Utah; Sparks, Nevada; Toronto, Ontario; Tremonton, Utah; and Visalia, California. Many remote employees from across North America also sought out opportunities to volunteer their time during the month of April to support local nonprofits in the communities where they live and work.

Marriott to launch three new hotels in Canada by 2030
Marriott International has revealed plans to introduce three new hotels in Calgary, Canada, as part of a mixed-use development in the city's Culture + Entertainment District. The W, JW Marriott, and an Autograph Collection hotels are scheduled to open at Stampede Park in 2028, 2029, and 2030, respectively. The developments will be spearheaded by Calgary-based joint-venture partners Truman and Louson. The W and JW Marriott properties are expected to be among the tallest residential towers in Western Canada. Truman's chief operating officer Tony Trutina said: "As a Calgary-based and family-owned company, we have a deep commitment to this city, and we believe this project will be a significant catalyst for the local economy. 'Beyond creating numerous construction jobs, these hotels are expected to generate substantial long-term employment opportunities, boost tourism, and support local businesses through increased visitor spending." Soaring at 69 storeys, the W Calgary tower is designed to include 157 guest rooms, 27 suites, and 239 branded residences. The property will feature a 7,500ft² Spa, a speciality restaurant, 16,259ft² of meeting space, a FIT studio, and a rooftop bar. Residents will have access to exclusive facilities and a private entrance. The JW Marriott hotel will stand at 62 storeys, featuring 248 guest rooms and 120 branded residences. Amenities will include 32,500ft² of meeting space, indoor and outdoor pools, a JW Market, a JW Garden, a retail area, and additional facilities. These announcements build on Truman's recent collaboration with Calgary Stampede to create a 320-key hotel operating under the Autograph Collection Hotels brand. This full-service property will offer 320 guest rooms, 15,000ft² of meeting and event space, and 14,000ft² of food and beverage options, including multiple restaurants, a lobby bar, and a rooftop lounge. A name for this hotel will be unveiled later this year. Marriott International Canada chief operating officer Paul Cahill said: 'We are thrilled to closely collaborate with Truman and Louson, whose combined passion and love for Calgary will be a perfect complement to the elevated service that guests have come to expect from the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio.' These projects will provide a total of more than 700 premium and luxury hotel rooms and nearly 360 branded residences. This development meets the growing demand for accommodations near venues such as the BMO Centre and the upcoming Scotia Place event centre. With a combined investment of C$1.47bn ($1.1bn) from Truman and Louson, these projects are expected to support more than 9,100 jobs while under construction and create over 2,000 ongoing positions in operations and tourism. What Canada's tech tax scrap means for US trade talks
The Big Story Canada's decision to rescind its digital services tax (DST) to restart trade negotiations with the U.S. represents a boon for major tech firms and could be a harbinger of what's to come for similar measures in other countries, experts told The Hill. © AP Photo/Thomas Padilla The Canadian government announced late Sunday that it would scrap the tax on U.S. tech firms that was set to take effect Monday in a bid to bring the Trump administration back to the table and avoid heightened tariffs in the coming weeks. The move was successful for Ottawa, with the White House saying that trade talks would resume immediately. It was also cheered by the tech industry, which has lambasted digital services taxes as 'unfair' and 'discriminatory.' But experts say Canada's move could put pressure on other nations to follow suit and rescind their tech taxes. 'Going forward, I think the fact that Trump managed to bully or cajole Canada into dropping its [digital services tax] means that this will be a big item that he insists on in talks with Europe and any countries in all these trade negotiations,' said Gary Hufbauer, a nonresident senior fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics. 'I see this as a harbinger of a more general repeal of digital services taxes,' he added, calling it a 'pretty big deal and a real victory for Trump.' Since taking office for a second time, Trump has repeatedly criticized taxes and fines on U.S. tech firms. He slammed the European Union (EU) in January, alleging that the bloc's hefty fines against American companies amount to a 'form of taxation.' The EU's top court ruled in September that Apple owed more than $14 billion in back taxes to Ireland, while upholding a $2.7 billion fine against Google by European antitrust regulators. Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, was also fined about $840 million for antitrust violations in November. The social media giant was hit with another $228 million fine in April, alongside Apple, which faced a $570 million penalty. Trump railed against the EU during a meeting with the NATO secretary-general in March, calling the European bloc 'nasty' over the tech fines, as well as a tariff on U.S.-made cars. 'They're suing Google, they're suing Facebook, they're suing all of these companies, and they're taking billions of dollars out of American companies,' he said at the time. The president has also taken aim at digital services taxes in particular, signing an executive order in February slamming the taxes as 'designed to plunder American companies' and declaring that the U.S. would respond to such measures with tariffs or other actions. Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo.) unveiled new legislation Thursday updating tax rules for cryptocurrencies, as Congress continues to move toward establishing a comprehensive regulatory regime for digital assets. 'This groundbreaking legislation is fully paid for, cuts through the bureaucratic red tape and establishes common-sense rules that reflect how digital technologies function in the real world,' she said.
