Suspicious iPhone 16 Pro Max Promo? Singer Nadeera's Instagram Reportedly Hacked
It's even more troubling if you're a public figure with thousands or even millions of followers, as hackers and scammers are more likely to exploit the account or even just your name for personal gain. That's exactly what appears to have happened to Malaysian singer Nadeera, whose account seems to have been hacked after fans noticed suspicious activity. Here's what happened:
Recently, Nadeera had been posting her usual updates on Instagram, including appearances and performances. However, on Wednesday (2nd July), fans began to suspect something was wrong. The singer's account suddenly promoted a suspicious sale offering three iPhone 16 Pro Max units at a cheap price. The caption read: 'Why cheap? Because the cheap redemption that we are holding is a gift and a sign of our gratitude for the profit exceeding the target. Therefore, we are holding this special for our loyal followers and the fastest winners.'
If the unusual photo and caption weren't already a red flag, the post was signed off as 'Admin' rather than Nadeera herself – a clear indication that her account had most likely been hacked. The account later posted a similar photo, claiming that one unit had already been sold and that only two iPhone 16 Pro Max units remained, likely an attempt to pressure potential victims into acting quickly before the supposed promotion ended. The comments sections on both posts were also disabled, a clear move to prevent fans from warning others that it was a scam.
Following the incident, Nadeera's agency, Rocketfuel Entertainment, issued a statement confirming that her Instagram account had indeed been hacked. They also warned fans not to click on any links related to the alleged iPhone 16 Pro Max promotion. 'We're in the process of retrieving the account. We appreciate all the information fans have provided,' the company wrote.
It's truly unfortunate that this has happened to Nadeera, and we hope she regains access to her account soon. If her agency chooses to file a police report, there's also the possibility of taking legal action against the hacker.

The Civil Guard said a vehicle veered off a motorway and burst into flames shortly after midnight in the municipality of Cernadilla in the province of Zamora, confirming the deaths of Jota, 28, and his brother Andre. "Everything points to the blowout of a tyre while it (the vehicle) was overtaking," the Civil Guard said in a statement. Portuguese football federation president Pedro Proenca wrote on social media that he was "devastated", calling Jota "an extraordinary person, respected by all his colleagues and opponents, someone blessed with an infectious joy and a reference for his own community". Proenca said they had asked UEFA for a minute's silence before Portugal's Women's Euro 2025 match against Spain in Switzerland on Thursday. "We have lost two champions. The death of Diogo and Andre Silva are irreparable losses for Portuguese football, and we will do everything possible to honour their legacy every day," Proenca added. Jota had married his partner Rute Cardoso on June 22, posting a video of their wedding on Instagram just hours before the accident. They had three children. The former Atletico Madrid, Porto and Wolverhampton Wanderers star scored nine goals in all competitions last season as Liverpool cruised to their 20th Premier League title. - AFP More Like This

HK Actress Ali Lee On Filming In Malaysia: 'I Can Eat A Lot Because I Sweat A Lot'
Earlier this year, it was reported that Hong Kong stars Ali Lee (李佳芯) and Chris Lai Lok Yi (黎諾懿) would be coming to Malaysia to film an upcoming project. Fast forward, the duo are now in Kuala Lumpur and have a lot to say about working here. The two stars recently spoke to news outlets about filming in Malaysia for the upcoming Astro drama, 'The Exiled'. In the show, Ali plays the tough wife of a gangster, while Chris plays the role of a gang leader. To fit into the roles, both of them have to dress in leather jackets. Unfortunately, the combination of leather outfits with the hot Malaysian weather posed difficulties for the duo. Ali admitted to having a hard time adapting to the hot weather in Malaysia, saying her leather outfit can be overbearing at times. However, the actress found an unexpected positive side to the situation, saying, 'Because I sweat a lot every day, I can eat more delicious food!'. She also expressed excitement about playing a gangster's wife for the first time, saying she looks forward to bringing the character to life. Meanwhile, Chris has other worries about the filming. Since the actor is playing a gang leader, he underwent vigorous training for the challenging action and gunfight scenes. The 45-year-old revealed that he has already lost 5kg from training. However, Chris joked that he might lose more weight given the hot weather in Malaysia, adding that people might think he was in the army once he returned to Hong Kong. While the pair does have slight difficulties adapting to the Malaysian weather, they aren't letting things slow down their work. Photos of Ali and Chris filming in local eateries have made their way to social media, showing their professionalism on set. Those working with the stars also praised them for their chemistry on-screen. However, the two remain humble off-screen, making sure to pose for photos with fans. We're sure Ali and Chris are both working hard for the new drama, and we wish them all the best. Perhaps some lucky local fans will be able to catch them in person while they're in the country.
