Like Victor Wembanyama and fellow former Duke Blue Devil Zion Williamson, Cooper Flagg is already an NBA star, months before he scores his first bucket for the Mavericks.
For bettors, that means that in addition to his 2026 NBA Rookie of the Year odds (which are as short as -225 at BetMGM -- implied probability: 69.2 percent), there are a number of other ways to bet on how he'll fare as a rookie.
If you think he could become the first rookie to win NBA MVP honors since Wes Unseld in 1969, he's listed at +50000 (500-to-1) at DraftKings, bet365 and FanDuel.
Few players get their own dedicated section/page at top sportsbooks like FanDuel and DraftKings less than 24 hours after hearing their name called at the draft, but Flagg fans already have no shortage of fun, unique ways to bet on his highly anticipated rookie campaign.
Cooper Flagg Rookie Season Player Prop Bets
DraftKings offers a few special parlays like Flagg to average 18+ PPG + Flagg to average 6+ RPG (+285) and Flagg to average 18+ PPG + DAL Mavericks to win the Southwest Division (+3500), it also offers over/under markets on Flagg's points and rebounds per game numbers as a rookie:
Cooper Flagg points per game: Over 16.9 (-115); Under 16.9 (-115)
Cooper Flagg rebounds per game: Over 6.1 (-115); Under 6.1 (-115)
Player Prop Bet Specials For Cooper Flagg (FD, bet365, BetMGM)
The best available odds for these props appear in bold:
Cooper Flagg To Score 30+ Points in his First Game in the 2025-26 Regular Season (+2000 at FanDuel)
Cooper Flagg To Record a Triple Double in Any Game in the 2025-26 Regular Season (-120 at FD; -120 at bet365; -115 at BetMGM )
) Cooper Flagg To Score 40+ Points in Any Game in the 2025-26 Regular Season (+300 at FD; +300 at bet365; +350 at BetMGM )
) Cooper Flagg To Score 50+ Points in Any Game in the 2025-26 Regular Season (+1600 at FD; +1600 at bet365; +2000 at BetMGM)
For historical context, consider that the most recent rookie to record a triple-double was Josh Giddey back in 2022.
In addition to Giddey's 17-point, 14-assist, 13-rebound night for the Thunder in '22, LaMelo Ball (Hornets, 2021), Luka Doncic (Mavericks, 2019), Markelle Fultz (76ers, 2018) and Lonzo Ball (Lakers, 2017) all recorded triple-doubles as rookies, though no one in the '22-23, '23-24 or '24-25 classes pulled off the feat.
We not recommend betting on Flagg to score either 40 or 50 points as a rookie.
It wouldn't be completely unprecendented for a rookie to break 40 points (LeBron James did it in '03-04, and Wemby also had a 40-point night in '23-24, to name two examples), but Wembanyama was the only NBA Rookie of the Year in the last decade to have a 40-point game.
Another reason not to back Flagg to have a 40- or 50-point night next year is the fact that he scored 30 points more just twice in 37 games during his dominant '24-25 season at Duke.
Best Cooper Flagg Player Prop Bet For 2025-26
The price here isn't exactly juicy, per se, but if there's one Flagg prop bet worth taking right now, it's Cooper Flagg To Record a Triple Double in Any Game in the 2025-26 Regular Season (-115 at BetMGM) -- 1 unit.
As we mentioned earlier, while recording a triple-double as a rookie is certainly impressive, it's not a huge rarity.
As an outstanding rebounder at 6-foot-8 (he averaged 7.5 rpg at Duke last year), Cooper Flagg double-doubles should be a more common occurrence at the NBA level after he finished his lone season at Duke with seven of them.
His over/under scoring and rebounding numbers tell us he should average somewhere around 17 points and 6 rebounds per game as a rookie.
Flagg averaged just over 4 assists per game at Duke. But as one of the initiators of the Dallas offense -- especially until Kyrie Irving recovers from his ACL injury last season -- I think he's plenty capable of a few nights with double-digit assists.
I'm confident he'll able to combine solid scoring, rebounding and passing numbers together at least once as a rookie for an accomplishment that is not nearly as rare as it used to be.
Case in point: In the 2024-25 NBA regular season, 25 players recorded at least one triple-double.
That list includes 19 players who had at least two triple-doubles, 10 who had four or more, and four (Nikola Jokic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, LeBron and Domantas Sabonis) who had at least 10 triple-doubles.

Max Holloway retains UFC BMF title, spoils Dustin Poirier's retirement fight

NEW ORLEANS -- Max Holloway said he wanted to play spoiler and he did it Saturday night in the main event. Holloway defeated Dustin Poirier in a unanimous decision to retain the UFC BMF Championship in UFC 318 at the Smoothie King Center. The win for Holloway is the first in three fights against Poirier, who beat him in 2012 and 2019. Holloway (28-8) retained his BMF title after landing 98 more strikes (201-109) and landing 53% of his significant strikes. Fighting against a partisan Louisiana crowd for the native son Poirier in his retirement match, Holloway was the quicker fighter for the entire match, knocking Poirier off his feet early in the first round. In the second, another flurry of combinations put Poirier on the mat again, followed by two minutes of dominant grappling. Poirier's best chance came in the last 30 seconds of the second round, getting Holloway on the ground with a chokehold and several ground punches before the round ended. The loss ends a brilliant career for Poirier, who finishes his career with a 30-10 record. Poirier, the UFC Lightweight Interim Champion in 2019, also defeated the likes of Connor McGregor twice in addition to victories over Justin Gaethje and Michael Chandler. In the co-main event, Paulo Costa (15-4) snapped a three-match losing streak, defeating Roman Kopylov for a middleweight division win by a unanimous decision. Daniel Rodriguez (20-5) won his third consecutive fight after a unanimous decision over Kevin Holland in welterweight action in a significant upset. Rodriguez was +425 to win the fight, but beat Holland (28-14), who lost his second fight of 2025. In the featherweight division, Patricio Freire beat Dan Ige by a unanimous decision. Freire (37-8) dominated the three-round fight, taking down Ige five times. The five-fight main card opened with a unanimous decision upset win by Michael Johnson over Daniel Zellhuber in the lightweight action. Johnson opened the fight +475 according to Bet MGM. Johnson (25-19) landed 81 strikes compared to only 52 from Zellhuber as he won his third consecutive fight. ___

WNBA All-Star Game live updates: Reaction to Team Collier routing Team Clark as Caitlin Clark sits out with injury

Napheesa Collier set an All-Star scoring record with 36 points en route to winning MVP and leading her team to a dominant 151-131 win in Indianapolis Getty Images Team Collier led wire-to-wire in a 2025 WNBA All-Star Game blowout victory over Team Clark, whose captain and Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark sat out due to a groin injury. The game got off to a high-scoring start aided by a new 4-point shot marker added on the court specifically for tonight, but Napheesa Collier's squad opened up a big lead in the second quarter and led by 22 at halftime. Collier set a new All-Star Game scoring record with 36 points en route to winning MVP of the game while Skylar Diggins broke Sue Bird's assist record with an 11-point, 11-rebound, 15-assist triple-double off the bench. In addition to its namesake, Team Clark was also dealing with injuries to A'ja Wilson, Jackie Young and Satou Sabally. Wilson and Young played limited minutes while Sabally sat out along with Clark. Q1 9:22 - Team Collier 4, Team Clark 2 The youth movement gets things started early! Paige Bueckers hits a shot from the 4-point zone, and Aliyah Boston follows with a layup on the other end. Q1 10:00 - Team Collier 0, Team Clark 0 A star-studded group of courtside observers tonight including Common, Robin Roberts and Lisa Leslie. Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston, the two Fever players taking the court tonight, address the fans and thank them for coming out. And with that, we're off! You get one guess which All-Star got the loudest — and longest — cheers when introduced at Gainbridge Fieldhouse tonight. Getty Images After the players' union met with the WNBA Thursday and once again came away frustrated with the economic model proposed by the league, the All-Stars came out wearing warmup shirts that said, "Pay Us What You Owe Us". Salaries and revenue share remain primary sticking points for the union in the collective bargaining negotiations. No one was smiling more broadly during All-Star introductions than Kayla Thornton, (who also put her V's up) a first-time All-Star in her tenth season, and the first-ever All-Star for the expansion Golden State Valkyries. Thornton even got a shout out from Cathy Engelbert in the commissioner's annual midseason address. Aliyah Boston, the Fever star and No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 WNBA Draft, gets a rousing ovation from her home Indiana fans as well. Getty Images Now it's Team Clark's turn to be introduced! A certain injured team captain and namesake will likely be introduced last and get the loudest cheer... Nneka Ogwumike may simply have been keeping her hands open to wave to the crowd, but it certainly seemed like she was highlighting all ten fingers for her tenth All-Star appearance as she was announced as a starter for Team Collier. The same stage used during introductions for last night's events is being used tonight to introduce each All-Star roster, starting with Team Collier! Angel Reese gets a nice ovation from the Indianapolis crowd despite being back in her rival's building. Getty Images It's almost time for tip-off from Indianapolis! We hope you're excited to watch the WNBA's brightest stars all share the court tonight — I know I am, and from the looks of things, so is Caitlin Clark who will still be performing team captain duties for her team despite not actually playing tonight due to her most recent groin injury. Getty Images You always want to look for markers that show a pro league's growth beyond the the important standard bearers such as media rights deals, ticket sales, viewership, franchise valuations etc... Here's one you probably don't know: ESPN had 140 staffers working onsite for last year's All Star Game in Phoenix. This year? The company has close to 200 staffers in Indianapolis. Getty Images As a television product as well as an in-fan experience, Friday's WNBA Skills Challenge and the 3-Point Contest left you wanting at least one more event. During a press conference on Saturday night with WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert, the Commissioner was asked by Aaron Barzilai of Her Hoops Stats if there were any plans to add something such as a rookie versus sophomore game for future WNBA All-Star Games. Engelbert agreed that the night needs more events. "We'll definitely be looking at different ideas, different formats beyond the skills and three point," Engelbert said. "I got a lot of fans asking me today at WNBA Live: 'We want more W this weekend.' We're going to look at that and hopefully deliver something in the future on that." If the league and players can work it out through bargaining, this feels like a no-brainer to add more content for fans. As important: It will offer more opportunities for players to make money and get involved in the weekend, especially if they were not selected for the All Star Game. Getty Images INDIANAPOLIS — Washington Mystics guard Sonia Citron said that she received more texts and messages last night from her friends about Sabrina Ionescu saying she would split the 3-point shootout prize money with Citron than about the Mystics rookie's performance in the actual event. Getty Images We've just received a wonderful email from WNBA fan Betty Meadows, who enjoyed the skills challenge and 3-point contest last night! Here's what Betty had to say about this weekend's action: "I am disappointed that Caitlin won't be playing tonight. However, I will support her and all the other players by watching the game tonight. The 3 point challenge and skills challenge was great last night. Kudos to everyone that participated. I was especially impressed and proud of Ionescu, Cloud, Wheeler and Hull. Everyone that participated was so supportive of one another. Actually made me smile and enjoy the challenges. Thanks to the WNBA for making this All-Star Game and challenges possible and creating such a remarkable experience for me. One last comment, I think all of the winning participants in the challenges should be paid at least $100k. They're professionals and put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into their training. Thanks again and Congratulations to all of the WNBA players!! Looking forward to the game tonight!!" Remember, you can be featured in tonight's coverage as well by sending us an email like Betty did: live@ Getty Images If I was picking a non-starter to have a big game tonight, I'd put a flyer on Skylar Diggins. This is a homecoming for Diggins, an Indiana Miss Basketball out of South Bend's Washington High School and of course a star at Notre Dame. I profiled Diggins for Sports Illustrated in 2011 — met her mother and stepfather, saw the rec centre where she built her game — and she's going to have a ton of family in Indianapolis, a city that once upon a time served as the site of a crushing defeat. In April 2011, Texas A&M beat Notre Dame 76-70 in the title game at then Conseco Fieldhouse to win a national title after Diggins, then a sophomore, led the Irish to an uspet win over UConn with a 28-point performance. Call me sentimental but I'd like to see the Seattle Storm guard, now 34, put in a big performance tonight Angel Reese, host of Unapologetically Angel, said yesterday she's proud to have sparked a movement in women's basketball podcasting after her show became a breakout hit. 'One of my podcasts had a million views,' Reese said, noting the impact goes far beyond hoops. 'It's bigger than basketball, knowing that I have impact in the culture—rappers, singers, artists, actors, actress.' She also teased that Season 2 is set to drop in October or November. In recent days, a wave of new shows has followed Reese's lead. Aliyah Boston and Candace Parker announced their new video podcast Post Moves, which will dive into behind-the-scenes stories and the state of the game. Azzi Fudd is launching Fudd Around and Find Out, produced in partnership with iHeartMedia and Stephen Curry's Unanimous Media, while Sue Bird's Bird's Eye View continues to deliver in-depth WNBA conversations through Vox Media and Togethxr. With stars like Reese at the forefront, the podcast boom in women's basketball is proving there's a massive appetite for players' unfiltered voices. As we're now within half an hour from tip-off in Indianapolis, here's a reminder on tonight's starting lineups from Team Clark and Team Collier: Getty Images One of the buzzwords often heard in sports media today is 'eventize.' But the word is far from new. For instance, a 2004 New York Times Magazine piece on the explosion of DVDs as a marketing play reveals that 'eventize' is a word the writer has been hearing a lot around Los Angeles. From the piece: 'As in, 'We really need to eventize the hell out of this release. For the 'Star Wars' debut on DVD, that meant parties, paparazzi, robots and a red-carpet treatment that mimicked in miniature the fanfare accompanying a big-screen theatrical opening. A boffo event, in short.' The word pops up frequently these days when discussing Netflix's sports ambitions or a broadcaster's desire to make something feel big. The sports content marketplace is crowded and one way to separate yourself is making a broadcast feel like an event. That will be case this weekend in Indianapolis as the WNBA descends on the city for All-Star Weekend, even without Caitlin Clark participating in the event because of injury. The league made a smart move by anointing Napheesa Collier and Caitlin Clark team captains and having them select teams. That mini-event delivered a ton of earned media, which is always a bigger win than a paid marketing campaign. The most successful sports leagues steal ideas from other leagues — or simply use their might to swipe them — and here is where the WNBA should swipe from the NFL, NHL, MLB, college football and other leagues. The WNBA needs to 'eventize' more regular-season games, and a priority for the 2026 season should be using the popularity of Caitlin Clark by scheduling the Fever to play a game at either Lucas Oil Stadium, the home of the Colts in Indianapolis, or a unique outdoor venue in the Midwest, such as Wrigley Field. (Clark is a lifelong Cubs fan.) Getty Images INDIANAPOLIS — Saturday was an important day for Unrivaled, as the league co-founded by WNBA All-Star captain Napheesa Collier announced NIL deals with 14 of the top players in college basketball on Saturday. Unrivaled announced deals with Azzi Fudd (UConn), MiLaysia Fulwiley (LSU), Hannah Hidalgo (Notre Dame), Flau'jae Johnson (LSU), Ta'Niya Latson (South Carolina), Olivia Miles (TCU), Kiki Rice (UCLA), Sarah Strong (UConn), Syla Swords (Michigan), Lauren Betts (UCLA), Sienna Betts (UCLA), Madison Booker (Texas), Audi Crooks (Iowa State) and JuJu Watkins (USC). 'This transformational, first-of-its-kind initiative brings together the best of the best and reflects our deep commitment to elevating the women's game and holistically supporting athletes," Luke Cooper, Unrivaled's president of basketball operations, said in a statement.

Napheesa Collier caps busy weekend with All-Star Game MVP Award in win over Team Clark

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Napheesa Collier played the role of All-Star captain perfectly. First, she made all the right picks for her roster. Then she answered all the labor questions. And finally, she showed everyone, even the WNBA's young guns, how to stay focused on basketball. The five-time All-Star scored a record 36 points, grabbed nine rebounds and led the aptly named Team Collier past Team Clark 151-131 in the highest scoring All-Star Game in WNBA history. Naturally, Collier was selected the MVP. She made 13 of 16 shots, four from the specially designed AT&T logo 4-point-line that seemed perfectly aligned for Caitlin Clark, the other team captain who didn't play because of a right groin injury. And it was all by design. 'I tried to make my team not have that many new players," Collier said. "I've played with a lot of them and so it was good to get back with them, play with, like you said, some of those new players I haven't played with before.' But for Collier, this weekend in Indianapolis was about much more than a single game. The vice president of the Women's National Basketball Players Association executive committee and a co-founder of the Unrivaled basketball league never got distracted by a demanding schedule that forced her to prioritize the WNBA's future over adding another award to her trophy case. Collier spent Thursday afternoon negotiating a new collective bargaining agreement and Friday answering questions from a throng of reporters detailing the meeting. On Saturday, she shared the pregame stage with Clark for a news conference between the captains. And after the game, there were even more questions about the CBA. 'I feel like I haven't been able to forget it (Thursday's meeting) because people won't let us, which is amazing,' Collier said. 'Just the awareness we've raised this weekend, you guys asking these questions, the fans doing the chants, that, like, gave me chills.' But Collier also helped fuel the effort. She, like the other All-Stars, wore a T-shirt that read 'Pay us what you owe us" during pregame warmups. Then she reinforced the message with a historic game. Collier broke the All-Star Game's individual scoring record while her team scored a record 82 first-half points. Another of Collier's picks, Seattle guard Skylar Diggins, became the first player with an All-Star triple-double in the same venue she led Notre Dame to the national championship game more than a decade ago. 'We set a lot of records,' Collier said. 'Skylar had a triple-double, which is insane. It was just so fun. We had a great time.' ___
