Formula 4 race suspended after 17 seconds of chaos sees terrifying crashes and FIFTEEN drivers forced to retire
A FORMULA 4 race had to be suspended after a huge 15-car crash. The shocking incident occurred at the iconic Imola circuit in Italy this afternoon. 2 2 The second race of the day saw a car fail to move as the lights went out. As it sat stationary, the driver directly behind swerved out the way and accidentally wiped out a rival. The car was sent flying off the track and onto the grass as debris scattered across the start line. Several yellow flags were immediately waved but those at the back of the grid did not spot them. A car went smashing into the back of the still stationary vehicle and it led to a horror pile-up. The collision saw red flag was raised after just 17 seconds. In total, 15 cars retired from the race. Some immediately got out the driver's seat but others worryingly remained inside. It has since been reported that all involved are OK. The names of those involved have not been confirmed. Chiefs initially decided to suspend the action before then allegedly abandoning the race due to the track's noise curfew. There is no information as to when the race will be rescheduled for.

Those problems persisted following his move to Fiorentina, where he played just six times in one season. He has spent the last two years at Serie A side Cagliari and was ever-present last year, scoring one goal in 31 games. Meanwhile Everton's transfer activity has been quiet so far this summer. Boss David Moyes says he needs "five or six" players in the next week, after his side lost 3-0 to Bournemouth in a friendly. He said: 'We've signed three, so if you take that off, we're still in the need of maybe five or six players. 'That's what we have to try and do. 'In the past I probably have had to sign a lot of players, but I've never had to do so many in one window as we need now.' Moyes suggested that he and the club's new Friedkin Group owners are paying for the chaos of the final years under Farhad Moshiri. European heavyweights make Darwin Nunez their 'number one target' as Liverpool seek to sell the striker and finance a deal for Alexander Isak
Italian giants AC Milan have reportedly entered the race for Liverpool wantaway Darwin Nunez. The Uruguayan looks set to leave Merseyside this summer after making just eight starts as Arne Slot 's side breezed to the Premier League title. He had been the subject of interest from Antonio Conte 's Napoli earlier in the window, with the Italian club thought to have been negotiating a cut-price deal with Liverpool for the striker. But talks eventually collapsed after club officials failed to agree a price, with Napoli instead signing Udinese frontman Lorenzo Lucca. Now, AC Milan - who recently appointed Massimiliano Allegri as their manager - have identified Nunez as a target up front. The Rossoneri have made contract with the Uruguayan's representatives over a deal, according to Sky Sports in Italy. Nunez, who is also receiving interest from Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal, is thought to be Milan's top target ahead of Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, Manchester United's Rasmus Hojlund and Arnaud Kalimuendo, who plays in France for Rennes. The sale of Nunez just two years after he signed in a £85m deal from Benfica will no-doubt help Liverpool fund their pursuit of Newcastle United star Alexander Isak. Having already bolstered their ranks with the additions of Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong and Hugo Ekitike, the Reds submitted their first bid of £110m for the striker on Friday. Newcastle were thought to be disappointed by the offer and quickly rejected, with Liverpool chiefs expected to submit a second offer soon. The Mapgies are however reluctant to sell without a replacement lined-up as they continue their pursuit of RB Leipzig attacker Benjamin Sesko. The Swede is thought to have told the Magpies that he wants to join the league champions Isak has reportedly told Newcastle he wants to leave after reporting a thigh injury ahead of the club's pre-season tour of Asia. He spent last week training at former club Real Sociedad, but is expected to return to Tyneside this weekend. Speaking about the possible loss of his star man, Eddie Howe told Mail Sport: 'I know where he is, really, through the media. 'From that perspective, it's difficult for me to go into any kind of detail. The situation is far from ideal and is quite complex. 'I was made aware of a bid yesterday (Friday) and that bid was turned down, all before I'd even heard about it. 'People back in England are dealing with the situation. I don't know what happens next. From our perceptive, we still support Alex in every way and my wish is that we see him in a Newcastle shirt again.' The Premier League season is now just two weeks away, kicking off on Friday 15 August with Liverpool taking off Bournemouth.
