Made In Chelsea star 'doesn't recognise herself' since leaving show
Former Made In Chelsea star Jessica Woodley no longer recognises the version of herself that appeared on the E4 show about London's exclusive social set a decade ago. Now aged 30, the reality star-turned-sculptor says she's more self-aware and, as she prepares to become a mother for the first time, feels ''more power as a woman'.
Jessica, who joined the reality series in 2015 — and dated Jamie Laing before quitting in 2017 — revealed last month that she was expecting a baby with her filmmaker partner, Mark Logan. Chatting exclusively to OK! from the Irish countryside they now call home, Jessica explains why life has changed so dramatically for her…
Jessica! Congratulations on your pregnancy. How have you been?
Thank you! My first trimester was tricky, and I am definitely experiencing nausea, even at 28 weeks, but it's all teaching me newfound resilience. I feel like I'm gaining strength throughout this pregnancy. It can be hard at times, physically and emotionally, but Mark is so supportive. I don't know if I could do this without him.
Have you always wanted to have kids?
I always hoped to be a mother. I wouldn't say we were trying to get pregnant, but we were delighted. Pleasantly surprised. From that moment on, I've felt quite high.
Have you had any unusual cravings?
Salt and vinegar crisps are getting me through. And I love Medjool dates, they are heaven on earth. I also make masala chai every morning. It really warms my stomach, and actually soothes the nausea. I'm doing yoga and a bit of Pilates. And our dog, Bloom, gets me outside.
What kind of mum do you hope to be?
I'm very aware that this child is going to be my teacher, I really respect that we learn a lot from children. I'm excited by this feeling of nurture — it's so strong. I worry less now, too, and I used to be such a worrier. I'd come up with hypothetical worries, make up scenarios in my head, and then get scared. I've learned how to self-regulate, and I hope that will help me as a mum.
How did you meet Mark? Was there an instant connection?
The second I met Mark, I felt like I remembered him. Like I had met him before, like he was already my best friend. I think I'd been searching for him for quite a long time. We both believe in devotion. So I've found love brings you together, but devotion keeps you together. I didn't see him coming, but I am so glad he's here.
And how has Mark been throughout your pregnancy so far?
He's been so supportive and bought me all the salt and vinegar crisps I desire! He's really cheeky and funny, which has helped me so much. Laughter has helped me and continues to help me. We're living in Ireland now — initially I was nervous to move to another country, but I find Irish people quite magical, and it just feels right being here.
It's quite a transformation from your Made In Chelsea days...
You know, I feel very grateful for that period of time because if it wasn't for that, I wouldn't have experienced solitude to the degree I did, and I wouldn't have looked inside myself as much as I did. I'm really thankful for that time I perceived as difficult, but now I perceive as a gift. I actually don't recognise myself any more. I'm less ignorant, I am more self-aware, and I have a deeper understanding. I feel much more in my power as a woman than I did then.
Do you keep in touch with any Made In Chelsea cast members?
I speak to Alex Mytton, I think he's an angel, he's just fab. And I sometimes speak to Jamie Laing, that's it. We haven't spoken since the pregnancy announcement [Jamie and his wife Sophie Habboo recently revealed they are expecting a baby ], but I can't wait to talk to him.
Would you ever do reality TV again?
I wouldn't say no. If it was in alignment with where I'm at, then yeah, maybe...
How has it been navigating pregnancy at the same time as launching your sculpture collection, Gliffy?
We were really focusing on Gliffy and then I found out I was pregnant, and we were like, 'This is actually really beautiful.' It's amazing to have these two things that I care about so much come about at the same time. I was slightly nervous about it, because I thought, 'Oh, is the timing incorrect? Is this going to get in the way of anything?' But actually, it's been the total opposite. I found that they really complement each other, because my collection was kind of about the inner child, and it felt like my baby.
How did your journey into making sculptures start?
I would say I started this journey of self-discovery and self-inquiry in lockdown, because, like a lot of people, I was forced to be alone. I had to figure out what it was that made me happy and made me feel good, and it forced me into solitude.
I found that there was something inside me that was really childlike and playful, and I was suppressing that. I was really lucky to come in contact with an artist, and I was really inspired by the fact that this person was using their imagination to create form in the real world. I was like, 'Yeah, I want to try that.' Having to overcome the fear of not knowing what I'm doing and the fear of failure was interesting. That in itself was a journey.

ITV star eyes up This Morning hosting role as they recall 'idolising' show
ITV This Morning has seen a number of guest presenters step in over the years, but it seems one star is eyeing up the top spot and they're no stranger to the show. This Morning's hosting duo, Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, took over the popular ITV show in 2024, following the exit of long-time presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield. In recent times, various guest presenters, including Rochelle Humes, Emma Willis, Rylan Clark and Paddy McGuiness, have temporarily stepped in. However, one ITV personality seems to be eyeing a permanent spot on the show's couch. Ashley James, a Made in Chelsea star turned commentator and regular guest panellist on This Morning, expressed her desire to take on the top hosting role. Ashley, 38, revealed to The Sun: "I've always said that I'm always there when the time comes. I would always love to host This Morning. "I kind of follow where my interests are, and it's got me to where I am today, and I'm always going to work harder than anyone else." Feeling grateful, Ashley reflected on her journey, recalling how she began her career in the entertainment industry back in 2012 without any industry connections, reports Wales Online. Initially, her main objective after quitting her job was to appear on This Morning. Since then, she has become a familiar face on the show, often sharing her opinions on current events alongside Nick Ferrari. Ashley explained: "I wanted to be on This Morning because it's a show that I grew up idolising. It was the goal. "So I love it and it's such an amazing team. I love everybody that's on there, both in front of the camera and and behind the scenes." While Ashley has yet to take up presenting duties, the news broke that Olivia Attwood, famous for Love Island and now a regular on Loose Women, is expected to lead the programme over the summer season. Olivia expressed enthusiasm about her forthcoming stint alongside Ben and Cat in an interview, saying: "I'm going to be doing a couple of shows in the summer, I'm very excited to be joining you guys." She added: "It's a huge honour, I've obviously grown up watching this show and being part of the Daytime team with the Loose Women has been the best experience and this just feels like a very natural progression of that." The endorsement from seasoned hosts Ben and Cat came through loud and clear; they're confident that Olivia will be 'brilliant' in her new role.

'I bought Dublin's 'best pint of Guinness' - and was floored when I saw bill'
A popular YouTuber went on a quest to find Dublin's best pint of Guinness - and revealed an alternative city to get a cheaper option after being left stunned by the prices A man who flew all the way to Dublin in search for the best Guinness says he was left stunned by the cost of the pint - and revealed where people should travel to instead. Danny, who films pub reviews on the Honest Places YouTube channel, went on a mission to locate the finest beverage. For starters, he opted to try Beamish at Mulligan's, instead of visiting the popular Temple Bar. He described it as "crisp and creamy". He then got his quest back on track and went to grab a Guinness at The Confession Box pub. However, he was shocked when he had to stump up £11 for the beverage. Danny compared the hefty bill in the Irish capital to Manchester, where he said he only paid £6.50 for it. He commented after tasting the drink: "Oh aye, that is pucker that. That is, oh bloody hell, that is smooth, that might be the winner you know. That was 11 quid by the way, UK pounds." His friend responded: "Standard price over here, isn't it?" And Danny, shocked by the price, retorted: "11 quid? Mate, I spent £6.50 in Manchester." On the advice of a local he met, he ventured to Cleary's Pub, enticed by the claim that it served the best pint in town, reports Belfast Live. After taking a sip, he declared: "It is nice, it is very creamy. It is the creamiest one I have had today. It is smooth that. It is definitely the best one today." He awarded it an impressive nine-and-a-half out of ten, suggesting there was still a smidgen of room for perfection. The quest continued at the Guinness Storehouse, Dublin's renowned tourist hotspot. Following the brewery tour, Danny and his mate ascended to the summit where visitors are treated to a pint of Guinness with their entry, and here, Danny found his top pick. Commencing his review, he noted: "The glass is spotless. Spotless. Good service as well. To be fair, actually, I know it sounds like a bit of a gimmick, but I can't think of much wrong with that. I think it is, I think it might be me, I think that is a ten. I think that is a ten you know. "The temperature is right, left to settle, can't fault it, so if you can't fault it, it has to be a ten. I think it is, I think it might be me, I think that is a ten. I think that is a ten you know. The temperature is right, left to settle, can't fault it, so if you can't fault it, it has to be a ten." However, the ultimate pint experience at the Guinness Storehouse came with a hefty price tag of €40 (£35). Sharing with his 91,700 followers, he advised: "If you want to come here, because you should come here if you like Guinness, but the best Guinness you can get is at the Storehouse. But you have to pay €40, you can't just go there for a pint unfortunately." Speaking about his overall trip, he added: "Accommodation over here is a joke in Dublin – I think it was about 200 quid a night and that's an AirBnB."
