Former Beatles member Ringo Starr gave Sam Mendes 'extensive notes on the upcoming biopic about the band
British musician Ringo Starr had a few things to say when he read the script for the upcoming Beatles biopic series — and he made sure director Sam Mendes heard them. Ringo Starr had some notes to share with Sam Mendes for the upcoming Beatles' biopic The former Beatles drummer revealed he gave Sam 'extensive notes' on the script covering his life, especially regarding his first wife, Maureen Starkey Tigrett, and their family. In a recent interview with The New York Times, Ringo said that he spent two days with Sam going over every detail. 'He had a writer — very good writer, great reputation, and he wrote it great, but it had nothing to do with Maureen and I. That's not how we were. I'd say, 'We would never do that',' said the 84-year-old musician. Though Ringo didn't name which screenwriter was responsible, the Beatles films are being penned by a trio of acclaimed writers: Tony Award winner Jez Butterworth (Ford v Ferrari, Spectre), Oscar winner Peter Straughan (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Conclave), and Jack Thorne (Enola Holmes, Adolescence). Actor Barry Keoghan is set to play Ringo in the project, which will consist of four separate films — one for each member of the Beatles. Sam had revealed the ambitious plan at CinemaCon in May, introducing his cast that includes Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, and Joseph Quinn as George Harrison. Ringo, who married Maureen in 1965 and divorced her in 1975, shares three children with her: Zak Starkey, who followed in his father's footsteps as a drummer for The Who; Jason Starkey; and daughter Lee. After going through the script line-by-line, Ringo also said he's now satisfied with how his life is portrayed. However, he's still skeptical about the production timeline. All four films are set to hit theaters simultaneously in April 2028, and Ringo isn't entirely convinced Sam will make that deadline. 'But he'll do what he's doing and I'll send him peace and love,' he said.

20 celebrity cameos fans have spotted in Death Stranding 2
(Image via Kojima) Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is more than just a sequel; it's a full-blown celebrity playground. While Norman Reedus, Elle Fanning, and Léa Seydoux headline the main story, Hideo Kojima's world is also packed with subtle (and sometimes bizarre) celebrity cameos. Most appear as preppers —isolated NPCs living off the grid whom you encounter during deliveries. Here are 20 cameos that eagle-eyed fans have already spotted. 1. Ma Dong-seok (Don Lee) Known for Train to Busan , Ma plays Samson Hook, a prepper at the F2 South Distribution Center. Expect muscle and heart in equal measure. 2. Kate Siegel The Haunting of Hill House actress appears as Olivia Westbury at West Fort Knot. Horror royalty in a hazmat suit? Yes, please. 3. Mike Flanagan The director of Midnight Mass is now Mike Northcoate, overseeing things at the Northern Environmental Observatory. 4. Molly Quinn She portrays La Madre at Villa Libre. You might remember her from Guardians of the Galaxy , but here, she's full of enigmatic wisdom. 5. Gen Hoshino Returning as himself at The Musician location, Gen is both a delivery point and a nod to Kojima's love for eclectic soundscapes. 6. Usada Pekora Yes, the Hololive V-tuber is in the game, as The Data Scientist. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với sàn môi giới tin cậy IC Markets Tìm hiểu thêm Undo She's streaming data instead of games this time. Olivier Pichard The other half of Atelier Sento, Pichard appears as Peter Gates at the Western Environmental Observatory. 10. Lauren Tsai The artist and model stars as herself , also known as The Artist. Her delivery point? Tucked away and easily missed. 11. Craig Malanka Sony's VP of Global Marketing enters the story as Glenn Rain, based in Rainbow Valley. 12. Colas Koola The co-director of Stray becomes The Lone Commander, found at—you guessed it—the Lone Commander outpost. 13. Swann Martin-Raget Yet another Stray connection, Swann becomes Ridge Frost, working out of the Eastern Environmental Observatory. 15. Mamoru Oshii The legendary Ghost in the Shell director is now The Pizza Chef. Yep, he's back to serve hot slices and quirky conversations. 17. Patrick Claude A returning face from the original game, Claude reprises his role as Victor Frank, located at the F5 East Distribution Center. 18. Ray Khalastchi PlayStation XDEV's development director appears as Benjamin Rivera, found at the C1 South Distribution Center. 19. Lauren Mayberry, Martin Doherty & Iain Cook (CHVRCHES) The beloved synth-pop trio returns—playing themselves—at the Animal Shelter. And yes, the soundtrack slaps. 20. Jon McElroy Former Annapurna Interactive director now goes by The Inventor in-game. You'll find him at—you guessed it—The Inventor's location. From movie directors and musicians to game developers and VTubers, Death Stranding 2 once again blends fiction with reality in pure Kojima fashion. And knowing Hideo, there are probably more cameos still waiting to be discovered. Keep your eyes open, porters. Easter Eggs in Death Stranding 2 Found So Far
Image via Kojima Productions Death Stranding 2 is shaping up to be just as mysterious and layered as its predecessor. Under the guidance of Hideo Kojima, a creator who has a habit of putting hidden layers under all details, the next sequel has immediately created an infinity of fan theories. Thanks to advanced trailers and early footage, keen viewers will have found one or two Easter eggs of different varieties that serve to hint at the future. Not only do these secrets give a payoff to those who have long followed the franchise, but they reference many of Kojima's as well as other past collaborators and even aspects of pop culture. Hidden References in Death Stranding 2 Trailers Another 15 Insane Little Details & Easter Eggs in Death Stranding 2 So far in this game, a handful of clever Easter eggs have been spotted in the official trailer. Here are some of the most interesting ones: 1. Return of Ludens The Kojima Productions mascot, Ludens, appears shortly on a screen during a laboratory scene. Luden is displayed on a monitor, indicating the boundary connection between the game's universe and Kojima Productions itself. 2. Mads Mikkelsen Cameo Tease In a single frame, a rather sly character is one face resembling the character of Mikkelsen, Cliff, the seemingly deceased character in the first game. This may imply a possible flashback sequence or hallucination sequence of his arrival. 3. Musical Callback to Silent Hills One glimpse of background music strongly resembles a track from the cancelled Silent Hill project, which leads to another Kojima-led game. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo It is just a subtle nod, which one of the fans of his older work immediately picked up on. 4. Porter Suit numbering. Sam Porter Bridges now equipped a suit labeled with the number '77,' which was replaced by '21' from the previous game. Many fans wonder if it could be a Kojima-style hidden message, maybe a reference to his previous work or a personal symbol. 5. Low Roar Tributes In some scenes, posters and graffiti referencing the band Low Roar, whose music helped feature the tone heavily in the original game Death Stranding, are visible in the background, and with the passing of lead singer Ryan Karazija, these little tributes feel heartfelt. As Hideo Kojima remains in its directing team, Death Stranding 2 will most likely be full of hidden details and veiled allusions. The Easter eggs have been found and present a very interesting picture of the story and thematic context that the players will find. When additional footage and gameplay appear, fans will be able to anticipate even more than they have to experience strong associations, and that there are secrets all along the way.
