Longhorns women's basketball adds guard from Ireland
During the 2024 FIBA U18 Women's EuroBasket Division B competition, Prenter was a scoring machine. The newest Longhorn averaged 16.1 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. That was not the only time that Prenter shined on the national stage. She averaged 14.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game at the 2024 FIBA U20 Women's EuroBasket Division B event.

One thing that has stood out about Prenter is her ability to make an impact regardless of the opponent. She has also shown that she can stretch the floor, which is something Texas coach Vic Schaefer is excited to see in a Longhorns uniform.
"Grace will be someone who can really stretch the floor and shoot the ball from deep range," Texas coach Vic Schaefer said in a statement. " She's very competitive and, from that standpoint, fits in well with our current team and roster. She comes from a wonderful family and we appreciate their trust and confidence in allowing their daughter to come across the pond to play for this staff with this team. She will be a great teammate and bring a competitive spirit to our team."
Prenter is joining a roster that looks very different than a year ago. The new faces will include five-star recruit Aaliyah Crump. They will be joined by transfers Breya Cunningham, Ashton Judd, Teya Sidberry, and Lovisa Brink Hose. That group hopes to bring a championship to Texas.

Last season, the Longhorns season ended with a loss in the final four. With a deeper roster and Prenter in the mix, Texas is in a good position to advance further in the NCAA tournament next year.

Bouwmeester also dropped 23 of 60 punts a year ago inside the 20-yard line, with only 4 touchbacks. As for the kicking side, Mason Shipley was placed on the Lou Groza Award watchlist. Shipley was a spring portal addition from Texas State and is set to compete with Will Stone for the kicking duties this year. Shipley went 15-19 on FGs a year ago, not missing from inside 30 yards and 60-yarder. That comes off a year where he didn't miss a kick, going a perfect 15-15 in 2023. A year ago, Texas kickers went 16-25(64%) on FGs, so the addition of Shipley should improve that drastically. Texas has had winners of both the Ray Guy and Lou Groza award winners, but during the 2024 run, there were a number of times where special teams let them down. Bringing in Jack Bouwmeester and Mason Shipley should give a boost to the Longhorns special teams unit. Special teams is often the decider in National Championship runs and Texas went out and got two guys that figure to be pieces in those major moments in 2025. Former lady Longhorn signs first pro deal
After a stellar college career, Taylor Jones is taking her talent overseas. The former Longhorn signed with Lointek Gernika Bizkaia on Thursday. As she begins her professional career in Spain, Jones leaves behind a memorable legacy in Austin full of unforgettable moments. During her time as a Longhorn, Jones was a scoring machine, recording 1,117 points in 98 games. She also made her presence felt on the boards with 6262 rebounds, including 237 that came on the offensive end. Regardless of the opponent, the talented center found a way to make an impact. Due to her play, Jones added some hardware to her trophy case. Her accolades as a Longhorn include Lisa Leslie Center of the Year finalist honors for the 2024-2025 campaign. The Dallas Christian High School product was also an All-Big 12 Honorable Mention selection during the 2023-2024 campaign. Those are just two examples of how she made headlines while in Austin. Over the last few months, Jones has stayed busy preparing for her next opportunity. In April, she was invited to the USA Basketball 3x3 developmental camp. There, the Texas native got to showcase her skills against some of the best talent in the nation.
