Based on the complaint filed by the victim, the police arrested Swapnil Nagesh, a technical analyst, charging him under section 66e (violation of privacy through the capturing, publishing, or transmitting of images of a private area of a person without their consent) and Section 77 (offense of voyeurism) for further investigation.
The incident came to light when the victim, working as a technical test lead at Infosys, went to use the washroom on June 30, 2025. While waiting to use the washroom, she saw a girl coming out of a cubicle and caught a man's reflection in the mirror, filming from the adjacent washroom.
She climbed up the commode and allegedly caught him red-handed trying to record her too on his mobile phone. She raised alarm and ran out of the washroom, prompting the staff to come to her rescue.
The HR staff caught the man and deleted the videos. The victim went home and narrated her ordeal to her family before approaching the police.
Based on the complaint, the police tracked down Swapnil. The accused, according to the police, joined the company three months ago. He had recorded two videos, which the police retrieved from the 'Deleted' folder. The mobile has been sent to FSL for a detailed analysis, a police officer said.
This incident has raised serious concerns about workplace safety and privacy, prompting calls for stricter monitoring and enforcement within corporate campuses.

Sigachi blast: More human remains found; 13 bodies handed over after DNA matches
More human remains were recovered from the blast site at Sigachi Industries in Sangareddy district on Friday (July 4), five days after the explosion that killed 38 workers and injured over 30. Officials confirmed that skeletal fragments found around 8 p.m. were sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) in Hyderabad for DNA analysis. Sangareddy Superintendent of Police Paritosh Pankaj said that the process of identifying and handing over bodies to families was being handled with caution. 'Whenever bodies are handed over, we are sending two constables along in the ambulance, all the way to the destination, whether it's Bihar, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, or elsewhere. They return in the same ambulance. This is being done to ensure there's no obstruction from local police, and all necessary clearances including NoCs are in place,' he said. He also confirmed that DNA samples from the relatives of all missing workers have been collected. 'Whenever we find skeletal remains, they are immediately sent for lab analysis,' he added. So far, 13 bodies have been formally identified and handed over to the families after successful DNA matching. Officials say the ongoing DNA sample testing will help clarify the final tally of the dead and missing, as discrepancies remain. Personnel from the Fire Department, SDRF, HYDRAA, Police and Revenue departments continue to comb through the debris. Search operations are expected to continue until all remains are recovered and the missing are accounted for.

Sacked Bengaluru Infosys techie confesses to filming women in washroom, says derived ‘satisfaction', collected 50 videos
Swapnil Nagesh Mali, a 28-year-old engineer working at Infosys, was arrested in Bengaluru for secretly filming women in a restroom. His actions were exposed when a female employee spotted suspicious activity on Monday. He reportedly confessed to his crime, stating that he had recorded another female employee from the company, according to a report by The Times of India (TOI). The accused reportedly mentioned that he felt a sense of "satisfaction" from watching these videos and had downloaded over 50 such clips on his phone, the report said. The woman who reported the incident in the First Information Report (FIR) said that she saw Nagesh filming her from the next cubicle while using the washroom, panicked, and raised an alarm. Other employees rushed over. His phone was seized and contained several videos, which HR later deleted in the woman's presence, NDTV reported. The accused has recorded more than 30 videos of different women inside the office washroom, which was present on his mobile phone, according to an internal investigation. This sparked further outrage, particularly after the woman's husband learned of the incident and approached the management. The woman also filed a formal complaint at the Electronic City police station. Following her complaint, based on her statement and the collected evidence, Swapnil was arrested. He now faces serious charges, including invasion of privacy and sexual harassment. Infosys issues an official statement confirming that the employee has been terminated. 'We are aware of this incident and have taken necessary action against the employee, who is now separated from the company,' Infosys said.
