Three AMD players selected for trials with Bosnian outfit
This opportunity comes as a result of the National Football Development Programme ( DP) and the National Sports Council's (NSC) ongoing efforts to raise the standards of local footballers to international levels.
The trial, which started on July 5 and will end on July 26, reflects AMD's mission of developing world-class talent through international exposure and partnerships.
Two Under-17 players from AMD, striker Izzuddin Afif Nazaruddin and midfielder Ilhaam Azani Mohd Azamin, have been called up for this trial.
Both players represented Malaysia in the AFC U-17 Asian Cup 2024 Qualifiers held in Laos and are currently competing in the President Cup with AMD's Under-17 squad.
Joining them is striker Iman Danish Mohd Shukor from AMD's Under-16 team.
The 16-year-old recently featured in the FIFA Youth Series in Zurich, Switzerland, as part of the national Under-16 squad and is presently active in the Under-18 Youth Cup.
This initiative would not have been possible without the unwavering support of FK Sarajevo owners Ismir Mirvic and Tan Sri Vincent Tan.
Their efforts have provided Malaysian players with a platform to showcase their abilities on the European stage.
'The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) have also lent strong backing to the initiative, contributing technical expertise and facilitating international competition exposure, further strengthening the AMD players' readiness for global challenges,' said a statement from the club. 'Through this opportunity with FK Sarajevo, NSC and AMD, we aim to elevate local talent onto the global stage, bringing prestige to Malaysian football and enhancing the overall competitiveness of the national team in future tournaments.'
The selected players now carry not just their dreams but the hopes of a nation eager to see its football stars shine beyond its borders.

Mbeumo, 25, will reportedly cost the 20-time Premier League champions an initial £65 million (US$87 million) having scored 20 goals in 38 league games last season for the Bees. Tottenham, now managed by former Brentford boss Thomas Frank, were also chasing the France-born attacker before United's improved offer sealed the move. United's third bid, worth an initial £65m with £6m in add-ons, was accepted last week. 'As soon as I knew there was a chance to join Manchester United, I had to take the opportunity to sign for the club of my dreams,' Mbeumo said in a United statement. Isak, who bagged 23 league goals last season, only behind Liverpool talisman and Golden Boot winner Mohamed Salah (29), was left out of Newcastle's squad for their pre-season tour of Asia. The 25-year-old, capped 52 times for Sweden, joined Newcastle from Real Sociedad in 2022 and has since netted 62 times in 109 appearances across all competitions. After Newcastle's 3-2 defeat by Arsenal in Singapore yesterday, Howe told reporters the tour was 'business as usual' for the players. 'You don't get a chance when you come on to these tours to think of anything other than training, the next game, the level is so high that even in these games we have to be very well prepared,' he added. Arsenal seal swoop for Swedish international Gyokeres

(AFP pic) LONDON : Arsenal on Saturday announced the signing of Swedish international striker Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon, bolstering their attacking options as they attempt to challenge for the Premier League title. The 27-year-old, who fired Sporting to the Portuguese title last season with 39 goals and netted a Champions League hat-trick against Manchester City, is reported to have signed a five-year deal in a transfer worth an initial £57.4 million (€65.7 million). Gyokeres' transfer, which could end up costing the north London club as much as £66.4 million with performance-related add-ons, takes Arsenal's close-season spending to the region of £200 million. 'To come here to a club on Arsenal's level, I think it's going to help me perform even better with all the amazing players in this team. I'm really excited to get going,' said Gyokeres. He becomes Mikel Arteta's sixth summer signing and follows defender Cristhian Mosquera (£13 million), midfielder Martin Zubimendi (£60 million), goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga (£5 million), midfielder Christian Norgaard (£10 million) and forward Noni Madueke (£48.5 million) in moving to the Emirates. Arsenal spent the concluding months of last season without a recognised striker following long-term injuries to Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz. Even before then, Arsenal were in desperate need of a reliable scorer, and Arteta will hope his new signing can fire him to his first silverware since he won the FA Cup in 2020 and end the club's two-decade wait for a Premier League title.
