Police pause search for remains of alleged Port Lincoln murder victim Julian Story
Warning: This story contains details some readers may find distressing.
State Emergency Service volunteers, SAPOL's Water Operations Unit and local patrols had been searching the Port Lincoln area over the last week for Mr Story's remains following his alleged murder on June 17.
The search has covered reserves, parks, bushland and the ocean around Port Lincoln's pier and bay area, police said.
In a statement on Tuesday afternoon, police said the "intensive searching" has been "paused for now but may resume at a later stage".
"Investigators are now in the process of reviewing a significant amount of CCTV footage to determine any other areas for searching and may return to Port Lincoln," SAPOL said.
SA Police Commissioner Grant Stevens said there was "absolutely" a chance the search will be resumed once investigators review more footage.
"We're just reassessing where the best opportunities are for us to locate Julian's remains and provide that level of closure to the people who care about him," he told ABC Radio Adelaide.
Last Friday, a suppression order was lifted on the identity of Mr Story's accused murderer, 34-year-old Tamika Chesser.
Chesser, who was a contestant on Beauty and the Geek in 2010, appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Friday via video link from psychiatric facility James Nash House.
The case has generated widespread media attention, which Commissioner Stevens said can generate "a lot more work" for police.
"We focus on doing the job and being as thorough as possible," he said.
"But when you do have a case that attracts the level of public interest and media interest, it can generate a lot more work for us in terms of people who are reaching in to provide information because of the awareness of the individuals concerns or the graphic circumstances."
Investigators believe Mr Story was killed around midnight on Tuesday, June 17.
Police said some of Mr Story's remains were found at a Port Lincoln property after a neighbour raised the alarm about a fire at the unit on June 19.
Police also said that Mr Story had been dismembered and officers were yet to locate his head.
After releasing CCTV images of Ms Chesser last week, police have also urged residents to review any CCTV or dashcam footage which may assist the investigation.
"We know that Tamika did not drive a vehicle and regularly walked around the township of Port Lincoln," Detective Superintendent Darren Fielke said in a statement.
"We are appealing to anyone who can help us to identify Tamika's movements to please contact police."
In a statement provided to police last week, Mr Story's family thanked emergency services for their assistance and the broader community.
Ms Chesser will next appear in court in December.

Two bodies found in unit on Kingsford Smith Pde, Maroochydore
Two men have been found dead inside a unit on the Sunshine Coast, with police appealing to the public for assistance in their investigation. Emergency services were called to the Kingsford Smith Parade housing complex in Maroochydore at about 11.20am on Friday, after concerns were raised for their welfare. Officers located the bodies of two men inside. It is understood the 65-year-old Maroochydore man lived at the property, and the 56-year-old man from Mountain Creek was a regular visitor. The unit has been declared a crime scene. Forensic officers and detectives remained at the complex on Saturday morning as investigations into the circumstances of the deaths continued. The exact cause of death is unknown, and police believe there is no ongoing threat to the public. Authorities are now urging anyone with information or relevant CCTV or dashcam footage from the area around the time of the incident to come forward to assist with the investigation. Jacob Arthur Amos told the Sunshine Coast Daily he had tried to check in on his 'good mate' on Saturday morning. 'He wasn't answering his door, and now we know why,' he said.

Man charged over alleged assault of three police officers in Sydney's west
A man has been charged after three police officers were allegedly assaulted in Sydney's west, with one being knocked unconscious for more than an hour. Two female officers were called to a mental health incident in Bidwill on Friday evening, where they found a man sitting on the side of the road. Police said the man stood up as the two officers approached him before allegedly assaulting a 23-year-old female officer by kicking and punching her and knocking her to the ground. The second officer, a 22-year-old woman, was also punched in the face while attempting to arrest the man. NSW Police Detective Superintendent Darrin Batchelor said another patrol car arrived at the scene shortly after and saw the female officer lying unconscious on the ground. "They immediately got out of the car and assisted in the arresting of that offender." Capsicum spray was used to subdue the 19-year-old man, who was arrested and put into a patrol car. He also later allegedly bit a male officer on the arm while being transported to the hospital for treatment. The 23-year-old officer remained unconscious for up to 70 minutes while being taken by ambulance to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition. She had since been discharged from hospital. The 22-year-old female officer was taken to hospital as a precaution, and the male officer who was allegedly bitten is awaiting blood tests results. The 19-year-old man has now been released from hospital and charged with three counts of assault police officer in execution of duty causing actual bodily harm and three counts of hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty. He will face Parramatta Local Court on Sunday. Acting NSW Police Commissioner Peter Thurtell said the alleged assaults were an example of the risks police officers faced on a daily basis. "I commend the bravery and courage of the officers involved — they deserve respect not violence. "Police attend these welfare-related jobs on a daily basis, and incidents like this one highlight the risks and dangers officers face when they are out on our streets protecting the local community."

Man dies after being found seriously injured in street, teen charged with murder
A man has died after being found with serious injuries on a suburban street in Perth's east, with an 18-year-old now charged with his murder. The man, 33, was found at the corner of the Great Northern Highway and Margaret St in Midland at about 5pm on Thursday. He was rushed to St John of God Midland Hospital, but later died. After days of investigation, WA Police confirmed on Saturday that an 18-year-old had been charged with the man's murder. He was due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on Saturday. Witnesses described the harrowing scene earlier this week, claiming the man's loved ones watched on as paramedics tried to save him. 'It was awful watching her,' one witness told 9News. 'She went from disbelief to shock, to distraught. My heart was breaking for her.' A second crime scene was established a few hundred metres away at a property on Dudley Str, where neighbours reported hearing a commotion at the same time. The connection between the two scenes remains unclear.
