Oasis convinced to reunite by one star after years of pleas to Noel and Liam
Oasis fans can't wait to see Noel and Liam Gallagher back in action when their tour kicks off in July after the brothers' bitter feud left them estranged for 16 years
Liam and Noel Gallagher sent fans into a frenzy when they announced they were reuniting last year and now it's been revealed who was behind the plan to get the band back together. The long-feuding brothers barely spoke for 16 years amid a bitter war of words between the Don't Look Back In Anger stars.
Oasis fans had just about given up hope that they would ever see the stars together on stage again. However, after years of radio silence, the band announced that they were embarking on a world tour and it's all, reportedly, thanks to Noel's daughter, Anais. Anais, 25, whose mum is former It girl, Meg Matthews, is good pals with Liam's sons, Lennon and Gene and is said to have spoken to her cousins about getting their dad back in the rehearsal room with Noel.
Following Noel's split from ex-wife, Sara McDonald in 2023, a source told The Sun: 'Anais was one of the biggest sources of comfort and support for Noel following his divorce. She was the one that was helping him get back on his feet and return to doing things he loved that had fallen by the wayside.'
Claiming Noel had tried to reconcile with Liam over the years, but to no avail, they continued: 'Over the years, Noel had offered an olive branch to Liam, but he'd never taken it up.
'Anais could tell her dad really wanted both his brothers, Liam and Paul, by his side after the split so was determined to get them back in touch. She gets on great with Liam's sons Gene and Lennon so she asked them if their dad would be willing to hear her out.
'They said they thought he would be receptive, so she then asked Liam to reach out to his brother to lend support. Liam's always wanted Oasis back together so he got in touch.'
Anais, who is said to have played a part in picking the tour's set list, recently spoke out in defence of younger Oasis fans, who were accused of not being able to appreciate the Britpop sensation's music because they were not of the same generation.
Insisting her dad's catalogue of hits was 'timeless', the photographer told Hello! magazine: 'I see this all the time actually - where someone will post a funny video or a cover song and people would say '[Oasis] would hate this'. No, no, you hate this.
'Sometimes people put this hyper-aggressive masculine ideology into what they think that my dad and my uncle are going to be like. They're actually a lot more accepting than the fans are.'
She added: 'People really love to hate on anything that young women like and it's really fascinating to me that young women want to go and see Taylor Swift and they're criticised because apparently it's not cool or it's embarrassing - and then young women want to go see Oasis and they're not allowed.
'So, where are young women allowed to take up space? People used the excuse of saying 'you weren't around', as a huge music fan myself, loads of bands that I like split up or were dead even by the time that I came to listen to them."
Noel and Liam will walk on stage for the first time together since the band split on July 4 at Cardiff's Principality Stadium. There will also be dates in Manchester, London and Dublin as well as Brazil and the US as part of the epic tour.

BBC Wimbledon star Annabel Croft's big life change, dating update and lasting regret
BBC Wimbledon star Annabel Croft's big life change, dating update and lasting regret The former player turned presenter and pundit is set to be a regular fixture on our screens in the coming weeks Annabel Croft (Image: Getty Images ) BBC presenter Annabel Croft will once again be on our screens over the next fortnight as Wimbledon fever prepares to take over the nation. The much-loved tennis pundit is part of the BBC's coverage for the tournament this year, part of a star-studded lineup which kicks off in earnest on Monday. A former player herself, Croft has carved out a stellar career for herself behind he microphone and in front of the camera, while she shot into the wider public conscience during her appearance on Strictly Come Dancing back in 2023. Her Strictly journey came just months after a tragic life event which rocked her to her core. Her husband of 30 years, Mel, died aged 60 just 16 weeks after his diagnosis. Two years after Mel's tragic passing, she is ready to undertake a major change and move house. She had three children with Mel, a former America's Cup yachtsman, Amber, now 31, Charlie, 29, and Lily, 27, but believes now is the time to downsize. 'The house has been my life for 25 years. Everything about it is Mel, because he built it. We've had amazing memories here that are impossible to forget, but I'm ready to go,' she told The Sun. 'What gives me pleasure is going for a morning walk in the park, running with my friends, having a coffee, a meal out and being with my family. Article continues below "I've realised I don't need much any more. I don't want overheads, maintenance, a garden to look after and pay for – anything that is excess to what I need.' She previously told Hello! magazine that she "doesn't even consider" going back into dating. "It's not something I'm thinking about at all. I'm not in that headspace – it's way too soon," she told the publication. That's why she appeared to be exasperated when rumours swirled of a new romance after being spotted with a man at lunch back in April. 'He's my bank manager and a great friend who was also close to Mel,' she told The Sun clearing up any sort of rumour. 'We were looking at photographs of Mel together. Mel adored him and he's been really helpful to me.' Croft, who will turn 59 during the tournament, now says she is looking forward to becoming a grandmother, with daughter Amber due to give birth in September. It will mean a new chapter in her life, one which has seen many colourful chapters already closed. One in particular, which is pertinent, too, with Wimbledon fortnight upon us, is her tennis playing career. The former British No.1 was a junior Wimbled and Australian Open champion, however she walked away from the sport at the tender age of 21. Explaining her decision, she said she simply "fell out of love" with the sport. She added: "I didn't want to live that circus lifestyle any more. I shudder now, thinking: 'How did I do that with such conviction but without any idea of what I was going to do?' "I didn't have an education or a plan. I was young and naive, and hadn't actually thought beyond that moment.' And there is regret over that decision. When asked if she regretted not keeping with the sport in an attempt to turn her Wimbledon title into a senior crown, she replied: 'Of course, I would have loved to have won the main trophy, but I made a decision that I didn't want to chase that dream any more. "I regret that I didn't understand what I was doing at the time. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, isn't it?' Her professional career away from the sport, however, has been a success story. Article continues below After five years performing in pantomime – an experience that helped boost her confidence – Croft made a successful move into television, landing a role on Channel 4's adventure show Network Seven before stepping into Anneka Rice's shoes as the new host of Treasure Hunt in 1989. She eventually returned to her tennis roots, carving out a new career as a presenter and pundit. She began with Eurosport before going on to work with Sky Sports and the BBC, becoming a familiar face in tennis coverage.

Kerry Katona's daughter Heidi in tears as she recounts harrowing childhood memory
Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Kerry Katona's daughter, Heidi, was reduced to tears as she recounted a harrowing childhood memory of witnessing her stepfather assault her mother. Heidi was just a child when Kerry was married to her third husband, former rugby player George Kay. Tragically, George passed away in 2019 at the age of 39 due to a drug overdose after reportedly consuming cocaine at a hotel. Now 18, Heidi - who views George as her father despite her biological dad being Kerry's second husband, taxi driver and drug dealer Mark Croft - has spoken candidly about her upbringing, confessing: "I saw things as a child I should not have seen." READ MORE - Brit gobsmacked by prices in 'unreal' Spanish supermarket and warns 'we've been had' READ MORE - One of Greece's most famous islands left 'empty' as business owner shares concerns The young woman revealed that she witnessed George physically attack her mum, who is also the mother to Kerry's 11 year old daughter Dylan-Jorge, affectionately known as DJ. On one occasion, he even threatened to kill DJ by injecting her with heroin. Heidi, who aspires to follow in her famous mother's footsteps, now harbours mixed emotions towards the man she once called dad. In her first-ever interview with The Sun, she admitted: "I am grieving for him. But I also saw my dad hitting my mum.", reports the Mirror. "She didn't realise at the time how much I saw. It has an effect on who I am now. I saw things as a child I should not have seen. Mum sent me to a therapist but I don't see the point of it. I try to be tough. Like mum I use humour to cover things up, but it's not always easy." The 44 year old Atomic Kitten singer, known as much for her turbulent personal affairs as for her musical career, is a mother of five and thrice married. Kerry Katona's eldest daughters, Molly, 23, and Lilly-Sue, 22, are from her previous marriage to Westlife star Brian McFadden. Her middle children, Heidi, 18, and Max, 17, were born during her second marriage to Mark Croft. Notably, Heidi marked Father's Day by honouring Kerry on social media rather than her biological father, posting: 'The woman who did both jobs @kerrykatona7 Happy Father's Day. ' The youngest of the brood, 11 year old DJ, is from Kerry's third marriage to the late George Kay. Kerry Katona, who grew up in foster care, has seen her share of ups and downs over a 25-year spell in the spotlight, including careers in singing and reality television and experiencing bankruptcy twice. However, she has reclaimed millionaire status after starting an OnlyFans account, with her daughter Heidi divulging that Kerry sought her children's consent pre-joining the platform amidst lockdown. Heidi has spoken out about the family discussion, detailing how their mum said 'I want to do OnlyFans - tell me if you have a problem with that' and clarified the nature of the website. Heidi commented: "Lockdown meant her other work had stopped. We all agreed she should do it, she's a grown woman who makes her own decisions. "She bought us all Airpods with her earnings. I thought, 'This is great'. She's done glamour before, she's been pictured with her boobs out, there's not a huge difference. This way she takes control and makes money from her sexuality. "We didn't know at the time that she was struggling for money. She has hidden a lot from us over the years." Nowadays, her mum is living it up in a luxurious five-bedroom house in Cheshire and zipping around in a flashy Lamborghini, thanks to the cash from OnlyFans - Kerry reveals she's raking it in with feet pics. Heidi, however, has her eyes set on loftier goals; she's determined to become a solicitor or dive into property development. She's adamant about steering clear of Love Island too – she can't stand the thought of her mum spotting her snogging on telly. Yet in the final segment of proceedings, and after an appearance from her daughter Blue Ivy and the track Legacy playing out on tape, things turned sour. During her performance of 16 Carriages, Bey hopped into a red car which was then suspended into the air. She pulled on a silver cowboy hat and waved an American flag for her in-air adventures, yet was forced to halt the song as the vehicle leaned dangerously to one side. Like a pro, Beyonce continued the song then told her adoring fans: "I wanna thank y'all, for loving me. "If ever I fall, I know y'all will catch me." The Sun has gone to Beyonce's reps for comment. As the incident unfolded, fans expressed their fears on X. A second put: "I KNEWWWWW that car was gonna do some s**t one concert omg so happy she's okay tho." A third mused: "Whoever messed up #beyonce car set up is getting fired from a CANNON." Another remarked: "We could have lost @Beyonce tonight if that car that she was in would have fell on stage, thank god that she is safe." One then pleaded: "BEYONCÉ! No More Car I Mean It." Overall, Beyonce's Cowboy Carter tour has been a visual extravaganza for her fans, showcasing the star in an array of outfits, performing with her daughters and even grinding on a bull. She has also floated over the crowds while perched in a moving horse shoe. She is then expected to follow up the project - which kicked off in Los Angeles in April - with another album next year, after announcing that Renaissance and Cowboy Carter were part of a trilogy. On her website in 2022, she confirmed: 'This three-act project was recorded over three years during the pandemic. 'A time to be still, but also a time I found to be the most creative.' TOUR TEASE During Beyonce's Cowboy Carter UK tour dates, the star appeared to drop a huge clue she was considering re-locating. It came as she was allegedly seen viewing land in the Cotswolds countryside with rapper husband Jay-Z, 55. Beyonce reportedly took a helicopter ride with her spouse, with whom she shares three kids, to get a better look at the Oxfordshire pile. The land supposedly spanned 58 acres and a source told The Oxford Mail: "In the past week, Beyonce and Jay-Z flew via helicopter between her London gigs to view a 58-acre plot of land. "Located close to friends Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi, and with Simon Cowell and the Beckhams as neighbours, she felt it would be an ideal UK home for her family, away from the city when they're in the country." 7 The car was a prominent fixture of the tour - yet fans have now called for it to be scrapped Credit: Splash 7 The Halo hitmaker also travels on a floating horseshoe during her set Credit: Splash
