Eagles' 2025 undrafted free agents with the best chance to make the 53-man roster
With training camp fast approaching, we're looking at five undrafted free agents with the best chance to make the Philadelphia Eagles 53-man roster.
The Eagles have star power at just about every position, and unlike past years, it'll be hard for an undrafted rookie to crack the starting lineup, let alone make the 53-man roster. Philadelphia added nine talented players who will be motivated by all 32 teams passing on them during the three-day event's selection process. The Birds added five on the offensive side of the football and two powerful offensive linemen.
With the July training camp less than a month away, we're looking at five undrafted free agents with the best chance to make the 53-man roster.
OL Marcus Tate-Clemson
Philadelphia signed Tate (6-5, 321 pounds) after the former Clemson star participated in the Eagles' Rookie Camp earlier this spring. A four-year starter, Tate saw action in 42 games (37 starts), logging 2,502 snaps during his Tigers career. Tate became just the third true freshman offensive lineman in Clemson history to start a season opener in 2021.
WR Darius Cooper – Tarleton State
A player to watch, the St. Louis, Missouri native joins the Eagles from Tarleton State, where he earned first-team Associated Press FCS All-America honors in his senior season. The 5-foot-11, 210-pound receiver is athletic and finished second in Division I in receiving yards with 1,450 (the second most in single-season school history) and sixth in touchdowns with 14 (the third most in single-season school history) in 2024. In 48 career games, Cooper accumulated 164 catches for 3,185 yards and 29 touchdowns, averaging 19.4 yards per catch.
DB Maxen Hook – Toledo
A former teammate of star cornerback Quinyon Mitchell, Hook was a first-team All-MAC selection in 2024, his third straight season earning the honor. He was the third Toledo Rocket to make an All-MAC team in four seasons.
Hook could be this year's Reed Blankenship after finishing 24th in the nation with 8.92 tackles per game. Hook finished his career with 356 tackles, seven interceptions, and 22 passes defended in 52 games.
OL Hollin Pierce – Rutgers
The 6-8, 341-pound Trenton, New Jersey native was Rutgers' first offensive lineman to earn All-America status since Anthony Davis in 2009. He also earned second-team All-Big Ten honors in 2024 after starting 13 games at left tackle.
RB ShunDerrick Powell – Central Arkansas
Powell rushed for over 4,000 yards in his collegiate career with 42 total touchdowns. He had eight 100-yard games in 2024. The two-time FCS All-American is a three-down running back and potential special-teams standout.

Paul Finebaum Takes Huge Shot At Big Ten Football Coach
Paul Finebaum Takes Huge Shot At Big Ten Football Coach originally appeared on The Spun. Paul Finebaum didn't hesitate to take a personal shot at one Big Ten coach after they seemingly eluded to Georgia's Kirby Smart tampering with one of their school's best players. Advertisement Appearing on the "The Triple Option" podcast, Bret Bielema seemed puzzled by running back Justin McCray's transfer to the Bulldogs this offseason. Saying: "We did lose a guy to Georgia. Somehow, he found his way to the portal and 12 hours after being in the portal, he was on a flight to Georgia. I don't know how that happened, but it's crazy." Those comments pretty quickly led to a response from Finebaum, who wasted no time firing back at the Fighting Illini HC for his claims against Kirby and one of the SEC's top powers. "Knowing Bret Bielema for a long time, the only thing that surprised me is understanding his voracious appetite that he didn't bit the microphone and try to swallow it because he doesn't seem to mind running his mouth," the CFB personality said. Advertisement "I would worry more about maybe being successful on the football field so he doesn't get fired there like he did at Arkansas. As opposed to running his mouth and making allegations that there's no chance in the world he can back up," Finebaum concluded. But the SEC commentator's brand has been one of defending his conference at every turn. NBA rumors: Ace Bailey's representatives made shocking NBA Draft request
The post NBA rumors: Ace Bailey's representatives made shocking NBA Draft request appeared first on ClutchPoints. One of the biggest storylines coming into the 2025 NBA Draft was what was happening with Ace Bailey. The Rutgers wing was considered one of the best prospects in the draft, but he barely worked out for any teams in the top five and skipped out on his meeting and workout with the Philadelphia 76ers. The Utah Jazz eventually drafted him with the fifth pick in the draft. Advertisement The Jazz's decision to draft Bailey was a massive shock, considering he did not work out for them during the draft process. To add to Bailey's bizarre pre-draft process, according to ESPN NBA analysts and writers Jonathan Givony and Tim Bontemps, his representatives informed a team in the top five that they did not want that team to draft him and that he would not report to team activities if they did. 'I can control what I can control,' Bailey said, when asked Wednesday night after being drafted, what to say to people who didn't think he was happy winding up in Utah. 'They feel how they feel.' 'But my team and I, me focusing on basketball and them doing what they're doing, so it happens.' Bailey's agent, Omar Cooper, pushed back on the notion that anything they did leading up to the draft was out of the ordinary surrounding Bailey. Advertisement 'Every NBA team watched him work out in Chicago,' Cooper said. 'He did 18 interviews. Everyone got their medical. They watched him run and jump. They got his measurements. 'No one said anything when Davion Mitchell canceled a workout with the Toronto Raptors. No one criticized Evan Mobley when he didn't work out for Cleveland, and they drafted him anyway.' 'There is nothing uncommon about how Ace Bailey's pre-draft process was handled.' How Bailey and his representatives handled the process made many think they were aiming for a specific destination, most likely the Washington Wizards at the sixth pick. The Wizards had a key opening on the wing that would have fit perfectly for Bailey. However, the Jazz had different plans. Advertisement The Jazz kept their plans quiet until draft day, and they lucked out by selecting Bailey fifth, despite Bailey being a projected top-three prospect most of the draft process. The Jazz had the worst record in the NBA at 17-65, but missed out on the top three due to the lottery. However, despite falling out of the top three, the Jazz picked Bailey, who was massive for them. The Jazz also picked Florida Gators hero Walter Clayton Jr. to round out the first round. Despite the confusion, Bailey stands to benefit in Utah.
