Sinclair, ATP, WTA, and U.S. Based Tennis Tournaments
BALTIMORE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sinclair, one of the nation's leading media companies, and its subsidiary Tennis Channel, the U.S. media home of tennis, announced a first-of-its-kind partnership with the ATP, WTA, and participating U.S. based tennis tournaments.
The agreement creates a seamless solution for brands to engage with tennis fans wherever audiences consume the sport, including onsite, on-air and online, allowing for a continued brand narrative across the season. For the first time, sponsors will have access to both the ATP Tour and Hologic WTA Tour calendar of events in the United States, and all of Sinclair's Tennis Channel properties—including Tennis Channel, TennisChannel 2 (FAST), the Tennis Channel app and website, and other digital platforms—under a single, comprehensive sponsorship package. Verizon has entered into a multi-year agreement, securing category exclusivity in the 5G wireless space.
The initiative was crafted through Sinclair's Tennis Enterprises by JR McCabe, Chief Business Officer, Consumer Products and Eric Welles, Chief Digital Monetization Officer, in collaboration with Sinclair's partners at the ATP, WTA and Tournament partners.
'By delivering a unified opportunity for advertisers to connect with fans throughout the season of tennis, Sinclair is redefining how brands engage with audiences,' said McCabe. 'This marks another step in Sinclair's ongoing expansion beyond traditional broadcasting, reinforcing our commitment to providing customized, innovative solutions for partners.'
Daniele Sano, ATP Chief Business Officer, said: ' This partnership with Verizon is a big step for the ATP. It's our first-ever telecommunications partner, which says a lot about the momentum behind tennis right now. It's also a great example of how we're shaping partnerships in new ways—built for brands looking for a single entry point into the sport. Verizon is a household name with deep credibility, and their investment in our sport will help bring tennis closer to fans across the U.S.'
Marina Storti, CEO of WTA Ventures, said: 'This innovative partnership is a shining example of how we can work together across tennis to create value for partners. Just a few weeks after the launch of a bold new brand identity for the WTA, it is great to be taking yet another positive step for women's tennis by welcoming Verizon to the WTA's partner portfolio.'
'We've spoken to many marketers and there was a consistent theme to the challenges of the fragmentation of the sport. This concept will revolutionize ways brands can access tennis, similar to the way other professional leagues operate with their rights partners,' said Welles. 'Verizon is an ideal partner, as they have led the way across many of the leagues in bringing together their brand with the respective sport and unlocking unprecedented experiences for the fans.'
Participating U.S.-based ATP and WTA tour events: ATX Open (Austin, Texas), Delray Beach Open (Fla.), BNP Paribas Open (Indian Wells, CA), Miami Open presented by Itaú, Fayez Sarofim & Co. US Men's Clay Court Championship (Houston), Credit One Charleston Open, Mubadala Citi DC Open (Washington), Cincinnati Open, Tennis in the Land powered by Rocket (Cleveland) and Winston Salem Open presented by Truist Bank and Flow Automotive.
'Working across both the ATP and WTA audience is a huge opportunity, and to include the US based events on both Tours is a game-changer. JR and Eric were relentless in their pursuit of this incredibly strategic partnership. Tennis has a powerful audience especially when we can pull all of these assets and events under one umbrella. I greatly appreciate the effort the Tennis Channel team put forward, along with the patience and belief that the Tournaments showed in our broadcast partner,' said Bob Moran, Tournament Director, Cincinnati and Charleston.

Wimbledon Day 1 best bets: Felix Auger-Aliassime vs. James Duckworth, Joao Fonseca vs. Jacob Fearnley
Gambling content 21+. The New York Post may receive an affiliate commission if you sign up through our links. Read our editorial standards for more information. Wimbledon gets underway Monday with wall-to-wall action starting at 6 a.m. Carlos Alcaraz, Alexander Zverev, Daniil Medvedev, and plenty of other heavyweights are in action on Day 1 of the Championships, but we'll focus on a couple of under-the-radar matches for our first two bets of the fortnight at the All England Club. Felix Auger-Aliassime vs. James Duckworth, approx. 9 a.m. ET You would think that the slick surface at Wimbledon would suit Felix Auger-Aliassime's offensive game, but the Canadian has struggled to make hay at the All England Club in recent years. Auger-Aliassime made it to the third round in his first trip to Wimbledon and then the quarterfinals in his second, but he's not made it out of Round 1 since. If Auger-Aliassime has his serve working and is able to construct quick points, he can overwhelm any player on the ATP Tour. When he's off, even just a little bit, it can be come an adventure. He won't love the matchup on Monday, as he'll play the tireless Aussie, James Duckworth, who excels at hanging around in rallies and making you play an extra ball. That makes this a tricky one for Auger-Aliassime, and opens up a path to an upset for the veteran Aussie. The Play: James Duckworth (+350, FanDuel) Felix Auger-Aliassime is 0-3 in his last three matches at Wimbledon. AFP via Getty Images Jacob Fearnley vs. Joao Fonseca, approx. 9:30 a.m. ET A star in the making, João Fonseca put the tennis world on notice in January and February. The 18-year-old from Brazil upset Andrey Rublev at the 2025 Australian Open, and then won his maiden ATP title in Buenos Aires in February. Fonseca has endured some dips in the four months since, but there's been much more good than bad for the teenager in his first full year on the ATP Tour. Get the lowdown on the Best USA Sports Betting Sites and Apps The future is incredibly bright for Fonseca, but it would not be a shock to see him stumble a bit at Wimbledon. We often see young players have trouble adapting to the grass courts at Wimbledon, and Fonseca caught a tough draw by getting scheduled against England's Jacob Fearnley in Round 1. Fonseca has way more talent than Fearnley, but the Englishman has a lot more experience on the grass than the wunderkind. Don't be shocked if Fearnley makes quick work of Fonseca. The Play: Jacob Fearnley (+168, FanDuel) Why Trust New York Post Betting Michael Leboff is a long-suffering Islanders fan, but a long-profiting sports bettor with 10 years of experience in the gambling industry. He loves using game theory to help punters win bracket pools, find long shots, and learn how to beat the market in mainstream and niche sports.

Jack Draper's ‘UFC' regiment that has Alexander Bublik at a loss on how to beat him
Alexander Bublik doesn't know how he will be able to overcome Jack Draper after admitting intimidation at the British No 1's fighter-like training regiment. Draper has put the tennis world on notice across the past 12 months and will soon go to fourth in the world rankings, having surged up the charts from 40th this time last year. Advertisement He claimed his first ATP Masters title at Indian Wells earlier this year and has continued in fine stead at the French Open, taking Roland Garros by storm. On his way to the fourth round, he has convincingly dispatched Mattia Bellucci and Joao Fonseca as well as putting on arguably the match of the tournament so far with home favourite and eternal entertainer Gael Monfils. And Bublik, who will be the next to try and derail Draper, has become the latest to hail his rise ahead of their clash on Court Suzanne Lenglen. "Jack, for me, is insane," said Bublik. "I saw him first day here. I'm like, are you getting ready for UFC? Advertisement 'I mean, last year the guy is 40 in the world. This year he is top five in the world. That's a crazy achievement. He doesn't seem to stop, so I mean, what do I have to do to beat him? I don't know. "I will just go there, enjoy the time, show what I'm capable of showing, and we all know what I'm capable of doing on court and then we see how it goes. 'This is the approach I have now, and Jack is a great sportsman, great person.' Jack Draper has taken Roland Garros by storm (AP) Draper is looking to go even better than his best Grand Slam performance to date, which came last year at the US Open where he reached the semi-finals. There, he was beaten by eventual champion and World No 1 Jannik Sinner. Advertisement This will be the third time Draper and Bublik, ranked 62nd in the world, will face off, with the Brit coming out victorious in both previous meetings at Queen's Club in 2021 and in Adelaide in 2024. "I know him since I played him in the qualifiers of Queen's in 2018 or something (a three-set win for Bublik in 2019). He was a little kid," Bublik added. "Then when he beat me in Queen's, and he told me 'I finally got you'. I said 'let's speak when you're in the top 50', because he was like 300 in the world, and now he's top five. "So now I have to have some courage to play, and we'll see how it goes."

Ben Shelton cracks ATP top 10 ahead of Wimbledon
Former Florida tennis star Ben Shelton has cracked the top 10 in the ATP rankings just ahead of his third Wimbledon appearance. One of three Americans currently ranked in the top 10, Shelton rounds out the prestigious group at No. 10, climbing two spots with a semifinal appearance in Stuttgart at the beginning of the month. Despite losing each of his last two games, he's held the top-10 ranking for two weeks and will move up to No. 9 on Monday, according to ATP's live rankings. Shelton dropped a Round of 32 appearance at the London Queen's Club ATP 500 event two weeks ago, losing the only game he played in two sets. The same thing happened in Mallorca, Spain, this week, where Shelton had a Round of 32 bye at an ATP 250 event and then lost in the Round of 16. The good news is that the points don't count from either tournament. Plenty of the top players opt to rest ahead of the Grand Slam events, especially the older they get, but Shelton is taking the opposite approach by keeping his young legs active. The 0-2 record over the last two weeks isn't ideal, but the points have worked out and Shelton plays best at the big events, for better or worse. Shelton's ATP ranking history Three years ago, Shelton was just cracking the top 500 and still debating a full-time pro career while completing his sophomore year with the Orange and Blue. He made the right decision, leaving the collegiate ranks, as made evident by his growing success with each passing year. His first full year saw him break into the top 100 after making the Round of 16 at the ATP Masters 1000 Cincinnati and ATP 250 in Atlanta. He lost his first Grand Slam appearance at the US Open that year. In 2023, Shelton continued his climb, breaking into the top 50 after the Australian Open and the top 20 after a US Open semifinal appearance. He ended 2023 ranked No. 17 in the world. Shelton stayed in the top 20 for the first 40 weeks of last year, including an 18-week run at No. 14 and two weeks at No. 13. A Round of 32 exit at the US Open dropped him back down to No. 17 and another early exit at the ATP 1000 Paris event put him at No. 21 to end the year. So far in 2025, Shelton has delivered career-best performances at each of the two majors. Now inside the top 10 for the first time in his career, Shelton is hoping to continue that trend. It won't be easy, though. Shelton's 2025 Wimbledon draw Shelton faces 32-year-old World No. 179 Alex Bolt (Australia) in the opening round of Wimbledon this year. The two have never faced each other and Bolt only has one ATP game, a loss, under his belt this year. He is 17-32 all-time but has seen plenty of success on the Challenger Tour. Shelton is a heavy favorite to advance. The two meet on July 1 at a time to be determined. Should Shelton make it through to the Round of 64, he'll face the winner of the David Goffin-Rinky Hijikata match. Shelton has a 1-0 record against Hijikata (2-1 including qualifiers and Challengers matches) and an 0-1 record against Goffin, so the preference here is clear. Potential Round of 32 opponents include World No. 18 Ugo Humbert and No. 42 Gael Monfils. No. 7 Lorenzo Musetti and No. 29 Brandon Nakashima are the interesting names in the fourth round, and World No. 1 Jannik sits atop the bracket quadrant. No. 13 Tony Paul, No. 21 Grigor Dimitrov and No. 29 Denis Shapovalov are some other names that could make it to the quarterfinals. Shelton's history at Wimbledon Despite debuting on the ATP circuit in 2021, it took a couple of years for Shelton to work himself up to competing in every major. He played the only domestic Grand Slam on the circuit, the US Open, in 2021 and 2022, but 2023 was his first year playing all four majors. He made an early exit in the Round of 64, losing to Laslo Djere in four sets, after winning a five-set battle against Taro Daniel in the first round. Shelton made it to the Round of 16 in 2024, winning three five-set matches along the way. He took down Mattia Bellucci first, then Lloyd Harris and finally Denis Shapovalov. He ran into a buzzsaw in the fourth round, losing to World No. 1 Jannik Sinner in straight sets. Performing well at Grand Slam events is a major reason Shelton has climbed the ATP rankings this year. He made his second career Grand Slam semifinal in January at the Australian Open, losing in straight sets to Sinner once again, and made a career-best Round of 16 appearance at Roland Garros last month. World No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz needed four sets to defeat the American. Shelton is nearing the point of only losing to top-10 talent on the biggest of stages. It's always brought out the best in him, and grass might be the most complementary surface to his left-handed power serve.
