YSRCP calls for recall of CM over unfulfilled promises
Speaking at an extensive meeting of the city party at Margani Estate's city office on Sunday, Bharat Ram alleged that Naidu has once again deceived the public with false promises in 2024 elections. 'Giving promises and failing to fulfill them is not new for Chandrababu Naidu,' Bharat Ram stated. He criticised Naidu for abandoning 'Job Kavali Ante Babu Ravali' (If you want a job, Babu should come) slogan from 2014 elections. He further highlighted that the current government has failed to deliver on numerous assurances, including the 'Super Six' promises.
He contrasted this with the previous YSRCP government, asserting that Jagan Mohan Reddy implemented numerous welfare schemes from 2019 to 2024, unlike anywhere else in the country. Bharat Ram accused the current government of not only failing to deliver on its election promises but also of selectively choosing beneficiaries for existing schemes based on party affiliation. He claimed that no other government in the country has garnered such significant public opposition within just one year.
Bharat Ram urged party workers to strive for victory in every upcoming election, particularly ensuring a YSRCP win in Rajahmundry.
Rajahmundry party observer Thippala Gurumurthy Reddy and East Godavari district president and former Minister Chelluboina Srinivasa Venugopala Krishna, who participated as chief guests, also spoke at the event. They credited Jagan Mohan Reddy with truly defining welfare through his schemes. They advised cadres to complete a five-week program to educate the public at the grassroots level about the TDP's 'fake promises'.
Leaders including BC Associations JAC leader Margani Nageswara Rao and Chandana Nageshwar also addressed the gathering. During the event, posters featuring a QR code for 'Babu Security Fraud Guarantee' campaign and Chandrababu Naidu's recall were unveiled.

MSP for mangoes becomes major political flashpoint in Chittoor district
TIRUPATI: The issue of Minimum Support Price (MSP) for mango farmers has become a major political flashpoint in Chittoor district, following Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's visit to Kuppam on July 2. During the visit, Naidu promised immediate and long-term measures to resolve the pricing crisis. In response, YSRCP leaders announced that party chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy would visit Bangarupalem on July 9 to console mango farmers. Reacting swiftly, Naidu on July 3 convened an immediate meeting with mango farmers and processing unit owners at his Kuppam residence. He reiterated the coalition government's commitment to supporting farmers, and instructed officials to work on a permanent marketing strategy. Furthermore, the Chief Minister shot off a letter to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, urging the removal of GST on mango processed products to support the industry and benefit farmers. He emphasised collaboration between farmers and processors. TDP leaders in Chittoor escalated their attack on the opposition, accusing YSRCP leaders of failing to support mango farmers when they were in power. Chittoor MLA Gurajala Jagan Mohan, Puthalapattu MLA Murali Mohan, and former MLC Dorababu alleged that leaders like Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy and Bhumana Karunakar Reddy owned more than 15 mango processing units, and had not ensured support prices during their tenure. Meanwhile, YSRCP has begun mobilising workers across the 14 Assembly constituencies of the erstwhile Chittoor district for Jagan's scheduled visit. A helipad has been finalised on private farmland in Bangarupalem for the event. Amid the political tug-of-war, the State government has stepped up efforts to address farmers' concerns. On Saturday, Food Processing, Industries & Commerce Principal Secretary Chiranjivi Chaudhary and District Collector Sumit Kumar held a review meeting with farmers and pulp unit owners. Chaudhary encouraged bulk sale of mango-based products at public gatherings, and reiterated the State's push for GST exemption. He also urged processors to provide the MSP of Rs 8 per kg of mangoes, and the State's additional incentive of Rs 4 to ensure fair compensation for farmers. As political temperature rises, it is to be seen whether the government's efforts can bring relief to mango growers or not.

Andhra Pradesh minister Nara Lokesh reopens 150-year-old VR school in Nellore; Rs 15 crore support, 1,000 students enrolled
Minister Nara Lokesh with students TIRUPATI: The 150-year-old VR School in Nellore, which was closed in 2021, was formally reopened on Monday by the State Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister. Originally established by Sunku Narayana Swamy Chetty on 3 May 1875, the school has a rich legacy and was later supported by the 28th Venkatagiri Raja, V Rajagopala Krishna Yachendra Bahadur. The historic school had faced several turbulent phases and was shut down during the YSRCP regime in 2021. Now, under the TDP-led NDA government, the institution has been revived with an investment of Rs 15 crore, supported by the NCC Group under its CSR initiative. Renovated and upgraded to international standards, the VR School has now admitted close to 1,000 students from underprivileged sections of society. After inaugurating the school, HRD Minister Nara Lokesh visited the classrooms, interacted with the students and teaching staff, and also spent time at the playground. 'The legendary VR school has provided education to many stalwarts like former Vice president of India M Venkaiah Naidu, playback singer SP Balasubramanyam etc. Senior politicians like Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy and Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy had also studied at this very school,' Lokesh noted.
