Canada's Tajon Buchanan joins Villarreal in permanent transfer from Inter
The 26-year-old has signed a five-year contract at the Spanish club after spending the second half of 2024-25 on loan, scoring once in 13 appearances.
Buchanan started only once for Inter in the first half of last season after suffering a broken leg during a Canada training session in July.
He joined Villarreal on loan in January, making four starts in the second half of last term and finishing the campaign strongly with a late winner at La Liga champions Barcelona — his only goal for the club — in the penultimate game of the season and an assist against Sevilla on the final day.

Buchanan signed for Inter from Club Brugge in a deal worth an initial €7million (£6m; $7.7m) plus add-ons in January 2024 but did not start a game for the Italian club that season, featuring 10 times as a substitute as they won the Serie A title.
Buchanan, who was the first ever Canadian to play in Italy's top flight, previously played 67 times for Club Brugge after arriving in January 2022.
The versatile wide player has made 51 appearances for the Canada men's national team, including starting all three of their group games at the 2022 World Cup.

Inter Milan have reportedly issued an ultimatum to Atalanta amid protracted talks over the transfer of Ademola Lookman. According to Sky Sport via FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri want a response to their final bid for the Nigerian star by Friday. Despite Lookman's verbal agreement with Inter, talks between the clubs are taking longer than expected. Indeed, La Dea turned down Nerazzurri's opening offer, worth €40 million, as they hold out for a €50 million asking price. Inter Milan Issue Ultimatum to Atalanta over Ademola Lookman Response BERGAMO, ITALY – JANUARY 18: Ademola Lookman of Atalanta BC looks on during the Serie A match between Atalanta BC and SSC Napoli at Gewiss Stadium on January 18, 2025 in Bergamo, Italy. (Photo by) Inter presented Atalanta with a second bid for Ademola Lookman yesterday. They offered a €45 million package for the 27-year-old. Furthermore, they changed the deal formula, deciding against a loan with an obligation to buy. Instead, they're pushing to sign the former RB Leipzig ace outright. However, Atalanta have yet to respond. Unwilling to let La Dea drag them into drawn-out talks, they've now issued an ultimatum. Indeed, the Serie A runners-up have urged the Bergamo outfit to respond by Friday.

Report – Inter Milan Cash In More From TV Rights Than Any Other Serie A Club
Serie A runners-up Inter Milan have reportedly emerged as the top earners from TV rights in Italy's top flight. According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInter1908, the Nerazzurri have outperformed other clubs in the division. Despite failing to defend their league title last season, Inter capitalized on a massive fan base to secure the highest share of television revenue. Indeed, they left all other Serie A giants in the dust. (Photo by) Napoli dethroned Inter in Serie A during Antonio Conte's first season at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. However, it didn't reflect on Partenopei's bank accounts. Indeed, Cristian Chivu's men have collected an eye-watering €81.6 million from TV rights. Interestingly, that's nearly €14 million more than reigning holders Napoli (€67.8 million), who sit second in the table. Record-time champions Juventus rank third with €67.7 million, narrowly ahead of AC Milan, who collected €67.3 million. Meanwhile, Roma complete the top five, having pocketed €61.2 million. On that basis, bright days are ahead of the Nerazzurri.

🎥 Guendouzi struggles, Mourinho beats Sarri, Udinese v Pisa🚀 Today's friendlies⚔️
The pre-season is heating up, and after a couple of days of relative rest, today many teams are back on the field. Keeping up with all the commitments is not easy: that's why we have gathered in a single recap all the friendly matches played today by the Italian teams. 📺 Watch all the friendlies of Napoli LIVE on OneFootball! Click here from the app to purchase Napoli-Stade Brestois 29. ❌ Monaco vs TORINO 3-1 Torino falls in the third summer friendly, defeated 3-1 by Monaco on French soil. The "granata" had taken the lead with Gineitis through a nice action carried forward on the left, but Biereth's equalizer in the 16th minute immediately restored balance. Paleari stands out with some decisive interventions, but is tricked by a deflection from Casadei on Camara's shot. In the second half, a positive debut for Abouhklal, who came close to scoring on several occasions, before Golovin sealed the final 3-1. ✅ Strasbourg vs UDINESE 1-2 Udinese wins again in a friendly: 2-1 against Strasbourg, a French team expected in the Conference League playoffs. Despite Davis's absence due to a virus and with Runjaic replaced on the bench by deputy Malecki, the "bianconeri" lined up with a 4-4-2: Pafundi on the wing, Bayo and Brenner in attack. Immediate intensity and high pressing. Panichelli put Strasbourg ahead, but in the second half, Udinese turned everything around in a few minutes: Bayo's equalizer and Atta's overtaking goal assisted by Lovric. Good responses also from Sava and Zemura in a risk-free ending. ✅ Empoli vs PISA 2-3 The friendly at Castellani goes to Pisa: it ends 3-2 against a combative but still tuning Empoli. The "nerazzurri" started strong with goals from Akinsanmiro and Touré, but Shpendi – with a true striker's brace – brought Empoli back to parity. It was then Meister, with a great play, who decided the match in the second half. Pagliuca's team shows rhythm and determination, but also limits to correct, especially in the midfield and in the non-possession phase. Among the positive signs, the growing condition of Shpendi and the energy of Busiello. Ceesay's injury needs to be evaluated. ❌ Fenerbahce vs LAZIO 1-0 It could be described as a Sarri vs Mourinho on an international tone, and on the day when Fenerbahçe makes two major market moves, they also secure a narrow victory against Lazio. A match anything but friendly, especially for what happened at the end of a first half full of tension, protests, and often borderline interventions. Zaccagni lost his cool after a free kick was awarded for a push at the edge of the area, resulting in a yellow card. The match was decided by Kahveci's goal, which came from a mistake by Guendouzi: instead of finding a teammate, he passed it to En-Nesyri, who then served the winger and beat Mandas. A disappointing performance by the "biancocelesti," never truly dangerous and with only one message at the end of this match: there is a lot, a lot, a lot of work to be done.
