Debenhams slashes 'sparkling' designer perfume to £27 in better than half price deal

Daily Record16-05-2025
The perfume is currently on offer, with one size in particular having a significant discount.
Debenhams shoppers can get their hands on a popular Jimmy Choo fragrance at a significantly reduced price. The online department store is offering a deal that could see fans of the perfume pocketing over £30 in savings and staying topped up on their favourite fragrance.
The perfume, housed in an elegant pink bottle, uses a mix of fruity and floral notes. It blends red berries with sweet pea and a dash of white musk to create the iconic scent.
It is celebrated online as "bright and sparkling", having picked up plenty of fans since its 2015 debut. Shoppers can enjoy a generous 20% saving on two sizes available – the small 40ml bottle now for £34.40 and the large 100ml bottle priced at £60.80.
But, the real deal is the medium-sized 60ml edition, offered at better than half price. It has been reduced from £58 to £27.
Perfume lovers scouring the internet could come across similar deals elsewhere. Boots customers could snap up Marc Jacobs Dot (50ml) for a tempting £37, down from the normal price of £74, reports the Mirror.
Meanwhile, Superdrug has one of the most dramatic markdowns online with Calvin Klein Euphoria Eau de Parfum. The original sticker price of £87 for 100ml has dropped to just £28.90.
But Debenhams is the go-to destination for Jimmy Choo fans looking for a bargain. The under £30 offer on Blossom is winning stellar feedback from shoppers.
An impressed shopper wrote in the reviews: "I really like the scent and have gotten plenty of compliments when I wear it. " They added: "I buy it when it is on offer."
However, on Amazon, some critical reviews have suggested the fragrance is "a bit underwhelming for a luxe product". A reviewer said: "It is very weak, and barely lasts longer than a couple of hours".
But the scent has won many other people over. Another customer claimed: "I use this perfume for work and have had many people commenting on how nice it smells and asking what it is." And, another posted: "The aroma is beautiful and long-lasting. Friends and colleagues have complimented on how lovely the aroma smells on me."
Over at Debenhams, the feedback was just as enthusiastic. One happy shoppers shared: "Been given as a gift to me more than a year ago and have been using this perfume since then. A definite keeper!" While another wrote: "Smells very nice, not overpowering".

One thing shoppers must do to get the best deals on Prime Day

Amazon's sale extravaganza kicks off next week, but the deals won't be available to everybody Amazon Prime Day kicks off next week, but shoppers will need to do one thing before the global shopping event gets underway on 8 July. The sale extravaganza will see thousands of products discounted until the end of the event on July 11, however these deals are exclusively for Amazon Prime Members. This includes Amazon Prime monthly, annual and free trial members, Prime for Students, and Amazon Family. Shoppers yet to become a Prime member can sign up to a free 30-day Prime Trial here to ensure they can take part in the four-day sale. Customers who are not a Prime member can still buy Amazon products throughout next week, however they will have to pay the usual retail prices. Prime Video members must upgrade to a full Prime membership before being able to take advantage of the deals. Not only do Prime members get exclusive deals during Prime week, they can also snap up great discounts all-year round. Members can also enjoy free next day delivery on a variety of products, plus they have access to Prime Video and Music. Shoppers with a Prime membership can also set up app notifications to ensure they don't miss out on deals. Although this year's summer Prime Day sale is yet to get underway, there are already some fabulous offers up for grabs. Amazon is not the only retailer currently offering deals via a sale. Debenhams has a blue cross sale with up to 75% off across garden, home and fashion. Alternatively, Dunelm has a huge clearance section with offers running across bedding, curtains and various other homeware items. There are even some garden furniture pieces included in the sale. Households that suffered during the recent UK heatwaves may need a trusty fan. The online giant's 24% discount on the Shark FlexBreeze HydroGo Portable Fan has come at the perfect time. Originally priced at £129.99, the misting fan is now available for £99. It's suitable for indoor and outdoor use, available in several colours, and offers an airflow range of 20 metres. One Amazon shopper declared the Shark fan 'the best', adding: "Lightweight, powerful, the misting function works better than expected. Sleep easily with it on speed setting three - quiet running. Like that it's handheld and runs on a battery. Well worth the money." However, they did go on to note a slight issue, as they explained: "Only disappointment was the fact I paid £129.99 and then the next day Amazon reduced the price to £99.99. I was tempted to send this one back and reorder it to save £30." Another top Amazon deal is a £100 discount on the Samsung Galaxy S10 FE Android Tablet, perfect for shoppers needing to replace their current device. Reduced from £499 to £399, this gadget offers a 10.9-inch display, 128GB Storage, 8GB Memory, and comes with an S Pen. Unfortunately one buyer wasn't completely satisfied with the tablet, as they explained: "I really don't like a lot of the software already installed on it." However, someone else is thrilled with the device, as they wrote: "It's fast and the screen is very clear. I'm a huge fan of Samsung products and I am thrilled with this tablet." The Tefal Easy Fry Dual Zone Digital Air Fryer is another product that Amazon is currently offering a big discount on. For a limited time, this 8.3L air fryer can be purchased for £99.99, a significant drop from the usual £179.99 price tag. The cooking device has several programmes, including roast, bake and dehydrate. Both the large and smaller baskets can be used at the same time or individually. Sadly one customer was left unimpressed with the air fryer's 'very loud beeping' and found it's 'not user friendly'. In contrast, a delighted shopper rated it five stars and said: "Incredible value for money compared to alternatives. "Very even cooking, high heat, great crispiness and extremely convenient. The two different drawer sizes are great and add up to a considerable amount. The sync and flip reminder features are great too." Check out all of today's Amazon deals here. For those who are not a Prime member, sign up to a free 30-day Amazon Prime Trial here and enjoy bagging fabulous discounts between July 8 and 11.

Pensioner uses life savings for a cruise which goes round and round the world 'with no end'

Sharon Lane sold everything she owns to get a place on the ship which will be at sea continuously for a minimum of 15 years A 77-year-old woman has told how she sold everything she owned for a place on a cruise ship where she plans to spend the rest of her life. Sharon Lane said the moment she stepped on to the Villa Vie Odyssey cruise ship she felt full of joy. She has now signed up to stay on the cruise ship for at least the next 15 years. It will sail around the world again and again with no end port. It will stop off at glamorous spots across the globe and, unlike other cruise ships, the majority of passengers on the Villa Vie Odyssey - the First Perpetual World Cruise - are long-term residents. ‌ Sharon had been looking for a life at sea and said when she found the liner she felt relieved. She has signed up to spend at least the lifespan of the vessel - 15 years - onboard. Most passengers sign up to spend the rest of their lives on the ship. ‌ She plunged her life savings into buying her cabin last year and, after a delay of several months, set sail on her new life at the end of September 2024 when the Odyssey cruised through her hometown of San Diego, reports the Mirror. Sharon said she was keen to see the world but also the chance to meet interesting people. Villa Vie Residences' CEO Mikael Petterson explained: "We have a very diverse community including a Nobel Peace Prize winner, a White House chief of staff, an astronaut, and many scientists and doctors onboard who share their knowledge and experiences." And if it's something you might fancy doing in your retirement, there are cabins available. But they aren't cheap. ‌ The lowest cost accommodation is an 'inside' cabin that is going for $129,000 (£93,000) for 15 years, with an extra $2,000 (£1,495) per person monthly fee for double occupancy, and $3,000 (£2,180) for single occupancy. If those prices stay the same, a single occupancy cruiser would fork out £392,400 in cabin fees alone across 15 years. ‌ However, the figure is low in comparison to the World, which is the only other cruise ship currently at sea. Prices for that begin at $2.5 million. Included in the deal are food and soft drinks, alcohol at dinner, Wi-Fi, medical visits, 24/7 room service, weekly housekeeping, and bi-weekly laundry service. The lack of laundry is something Sharon, from California enjoys. She said: 'I don't have to do my laundry anymore. I don't have to do grocery shopping. ‌ "Living on the ship is much less expensive than living in Southern California." Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Other amenities for passengers, according to Villa Vie's website, include a pickleball court, different shows and performances, wellness classes, and social events, from elegant dinners to casual meet-ups. ‌ Villa Vie owners can rent their cabin out to others, which means short-term passengers can come and go from the Odyssey. The Odyssey usually stops in each port for a couple of days, where optional shore excursions are organised for an additional fee. The eight-deck Odyssey can accommodate 924 people, but it has been reconfigured and streamlined to a roomier 450. The ship's voyage did not get off to a smooth start, as it became stranded in Belfast for four and a half months last year. The Odyssey arrived in the Northern Ireland capital back in May 2024 to be fitted out before it was scheduled to sail off on the 30th of that month. Due to issues with the rudders and gearbox, the vessel ended up staying put for four and a half months. It finally set sail on October 3.

People struggling UK heatwave say Amazon's £31 pool is 'best thing ever'

The pool has been a hit with shoppers - and it's currently available to order with Amazon for delivery as soon as tomorrow As the UK experiences a heatwave, with temperatures predicted to exceed 30C in some areas, Brits are on the hunt for ways to stay cool. A heat health warning has been issued across most of the country, prompting many to invest in fans, air conditioners and plenty of ice cream. For those looking to combat the sudden rise in temperature and make the most of their outdoor spaces, investing in a paddling pool could be a good idea. If you have the room, a refreshing dip can not only beat the heat, but it can also provide endless hours of summer entertainment, especially for kids. Amazon is one of the few online retailers offering a selection of paddling pools in all shapes and sizes that can be delivered. A popular option is the Bestway Family Inflatable Swimming Pool, retailing at £30.95, reports the Mirror. However, several other alternatives are worth considering, such as the Bestway 8ft Paddling Pool (Argos, £40) or the Intex Swim Centre Square Family Inflatable Lounge Pool (£34, Smyths Toys). Amazon's pool isn't just for the little ones; adults can enjoy it, too. The integrated seats and 'convenient' cup holders make overseeing playtime a bit more comfortable, according to Amazon. On its website, Amazon states that customers who order today (July 1) can expect delivery as early as tomorrow (July 2). The pool's price on Amazon is a bargain, as it is on Bestway's website at £54.99. Many customers who splurged on the pool have also been snatching up the £10 Bestway Swimming Pool Cover on Amazon to keep "dirt and debris accumulating in the pool." The reviews are full of compliments on the pool. One said: "We bought this as a good compromise between a tiny kiddies paddling pool and a big sturdy pool. Happily, it fits a couple of adults and a few kids. Husband loves the cup holder. I think he may have spent more time in the pool than the kids!" Another offered high praise: "Best paddling pool we've had, love the little seats and headrests and cup holders." A third added: "Love this pool. It's great for cooling off in the summer heat." However, not all experiences were positive. One customer reported the pool "goes down after an hour" while another cautioned that it's "prone to punctures". A third claimed: "Easy to set up, started to fill it up and the top section had deflated in 10 mins, so couldn't be used. It is a good size and design, just a shame didn't get to use it." But, the majority of reviews were glowing. Another customer reported: "Didn't take long to inflate using a foot pump. It's been up six days now and is still fully inflated. Great pool, would fit four easily, although there are only two seats/cushions. But it's perfect for me. Lovely to cool off in with a glass of red on a hot sunny day." A fifth satisfied shopper joked: "This should not be shared with children! I used this all summer in my tiny garden - so comfortable- perfect for sunbathing with a cocktail."
