Police vehicle runs over 2 girls in Muz, 1 dies
The incident took place in the Jajuar police station area as the girls were returning home from school.
The deceased, 15-year-old Kiran Jha, daughter of Rupesh Jha, and her 14-year-old friend Mehzabi Bano, daughter of Mohammad Haider Ali, had stopped at a shop to buy samosas when the police vehicle crashed into the shop and struck them near the Government High School in Jajuar. Kiran succumbed to her injuries on the way to the hospital while Mehzabi remains in critical condition.
Locals alleged that the police personnel and the private driver in the vehicle fled instead of helping the girls. The Dial-112 vehicle had three personnel and a private driver, none of whom have been identified so far.
The incident sparked widespread protests. Locals blocked roads and damaged the police vehicle in outrage. Senior officers including Rural SP Vidya Sagar, Town ASP Shahriyar Akhtar and local SHO Hemant Kumar arrived at the site with reinforcements to control the situation.

A Tumakuru court on Monday held the woman and her friend guilty of murdering her husband and sentenced the duo to life imprisonment. Yashoda and Manjunath, who were out on bail, were produced before the court when judge Nagireddy passed the orders. Additionally, the court imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 each on the convicts. Also, his daughter said she heard her parents and a man fighting outside the shed around 1am. This led police to convert the case into that of a murder. They arrested Yashoda, who confessed to the murder. Based on her statement, Manjunath was also arrested. Police chargesheet included the minor's detailed statement on the post-midnight murder. "The chargesheet also contained forensic reports confirming blood samples derived from the shock absorber matched those of Anjinappa. Call records proved Manjunath was present at the shed," a senior police officer said. The police chargesheet said Yashoda was in a relationship with Manjunath, which Anjinappa found out. Anjinappa worked as a caretaker of an agricultural land and as a truck driver. "Yashoda and Manjunath were neighbours in Chikkaballapura. Before marriage, Yashoda was in a relationship with Manjunath. When their relationship continued even after marriage, Anjinappa fought with her. Family members had to intervene," a cop said. As per a plan, Yashoda called Manjunath on his mobile, asking him to come to their shed in the early hours of May 12. "She wanted to separate from Anjinappa and live with Manjunath. But when it did not work, both planned to eliminate Anjinappa," police said.

Telangana high court seeks report on illegal construction on Bhoodan land
HYDERABAD: Taking serious note of alleged encroachments on Bhoodan and Gairan Sarkari lands, the Telangana high court has sought a detailed explanation from the Rangareddy district administration. Justice CV Bhaskar Reddy on Wednesday directed the district collector to submit a report by July 11 on alleged construction activity underway in Nagaram village, despite a status quo order issued earlier by the court. The matter pertains to a contempt petition filed by Birla Mallesh, who has consistently flagged what he describes as irregular and illegal land transactions involving Bhoodan and govt-owned grazing lands in survey numbers 181, 182, 194, and 195 of Nagaram village in Maheshwaram mandal. You Can Also Check: Hyderabad AQI | Weather in Hyderabad | Bank Holidays in Hyderabad | Public Holidays in Hyderabad These transactions, he alleges, involved senior IAS and IPS officers and were carried out in violation of land-use regulations and court directives. Gairan Sarkari is a grazing land that is public property and cannot legally be sold or transferred. On April 24, the court took cognisance of Mallesh's submissions and passed a clear order directing the state to place the said lands-comprising Bhoodan and Gairan Sarkari plots-in the prohibited list, thereby halting all forms of sale, transfer, or development. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với sàn môi giới tin cậy IC Markets Tìm hiểu thêm Undo It had also restrained govt departments and officials from making any alterations, alienations, or modifications to the disputed properties until further orders. However, Mallesh returned to court with a contempt plea, alleging that unauthorised construction continues unabated on the land. In support of his claim, he submitted photographs showing a compound wall being erected around site in question. The petitioner emphasised that the land is classified as Gairan Sarkari, and reiterated that the Bhoodan lands, donated under a post-Independence land reform initiative for the landless, carry specific restrictions on alienation and must be preserved in public interest.

Rajasthan horror: Family of 4 found dead in water tank in Barmer district; here's what happened
Representative Image NEW DELHI: Four members of a family, including two children, have been found dead in a water tank in Rajasthan's Barmer district, in what police believe to be a case of suicide. The bodies of Shivlal Meghwal (35), his wife Kavita (32) and their sons, aged 8 and 6, were found in a water tank outside their home in Undu village on Tuesday evening. According to police, Shivlal is believed to have jumped into the tank along with his family after allegedly locking the house. The incident came to light when Shivlal's younger brother, unable to reach him on the phone, asked a neighbour to check on the family. Police were then alerted. 'We found all four bodies in the tank outside their home,' said Manaram Garg, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sheo. 'The in-laws were informed, and the bodies were recovered on Wednesday morning in their presence, as they could not reach the village on Tuesday night.' The bodies were sent to the local hospital in Bhiyad for post-mortem examinations. Relatives of Kavita have alleged that the family had been facing domestic harassment. Gopilal, Kavita's uncle, told reporters that Shivlal had been under pressure from his mother and brother, who reportedly prevented him from building a separate house under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). 'He had written a suicide note on June 29 but did not act on it immediately,' Gopilal claimed. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Junte-se à revolução do ar-condicionado com sistemas sem dutos Knowledge Knower Undo 'But on Tuesday, with his mother away visiting his brother and his father attending a religious event, Shivlal and Kavita switched off their phones and allegedly took the extreme step.'
